RQ Roofing

I asked for bids from 5 companies. Rodriguez was top rated by Angies List so I emailed them. Chris replied promptly to my email and couple days later emailed me a proposal. We then arranged to meet and he was on time and gave me information, answering clearly any questions I had. I went with Rodriguez because of the reasonable price, Chris's quick response to questions, and the Angies List recommendation (Better Business gives them an "A" rating). My roof was scheduled on 10/26/12 at 7 a.m. Right at 7 am, the crew arrived. They started right in working and within 4 hours the roof was completed. Everyone was courteous and friendly and hard working. At one point, Chris stopped by to advise me that there was quite a bit of rotted wood. He showed me the pieces that had been torn off and how they were being replaced. I appreciated the chance to see the damage for myself. Also, I had leakage problems for years from my front porch roof with water running down my inside front door. When the porch roof was exposed, it was found that no flashing had ever been installed. His team did install and three workers and Chris returned today (10/27) to attach boarding to cover where the flashing showed at no extra cost. Yesterday afternoon, one worker installed my new eaves troughs. At the end, he showed me all the work. I was very pleased with the way he'd ran the downspouts off my porch in particular. Clean up was excellent. All in all, a wonderful experience. I would absolutely use Rodgriquez again and will consider them for window replacement and/or re-siding next year.

Based on the many positive Angies List reviews, I emailed Rodriguez Quality Roofing to request a quote on replacement of some shingles in various areas of our roof that had some wind/hail damage. In my email, I requested an email response (as that's our preferred method of contact). I received a phone call back from Chris two days later. We arranged for him to come out & give an estimate (the next day). Time scheduled was "sometime tomorrow after I'm able to get away from another job we're doing". I would have much preferred a scheduled time or at least a short "window" of time so that I didn't have to be sitting around the house all day wondering when they might show up. So, I requested that he call ahead when he was on his way, which he (?somewhat reluctantly?) agreed to do & did follow through on (about 1/2 hour prior to arrival). Shortly after he arrived, two other men that were along with him (maybe one was younger, a son?) were playing around in our front lawn (wrestling?). I didn't think this was very professional. They took a look at our roof gave us an idea of what repairs were needed. Chris said he'd be emailing me an estimate that evening (which he said would include an estimate for the repairs as well as an estimate for replacement of our roof, should we so choose in the future). I was pleased to hear he would be getting back to me so soon & was looking forward to hearing back from him. Well, it's now over 3 weeks later and I haven't received an email or heard anything back from him whatsoever (I checked my spam filter...nothing there either). Clear communication, follow-through, & feeling respected as a customer are things I value very highly. I'll be taking my business elsewhere. :-(

He was fast to come out and estimate and fast to do the job. Rather than list the virtues I'll summarize by saying that they were everything I would have expected and I'm very pleased. The cost was reasonable and I will definitely call them again on the next project.

All the work was performed with excellent quality and carry through. The roof was replace with the use of 12 workers, four workers replaced the siding and one replaced the gutters. All the workers and management were highly responsive to our questions and requests. All work was done with quality and courtesy. And my wife and I were highly satisfied.

The overall experience was excellent from start to finish. Ramiro came promptly to do the bidding which was accurate. The work was done on schedule and he and his workers are completely professional and polite.

We were satisfied with their installation. Unfortunately, they were given the wrong materials by the contractor.

After a great experience having them put a new roof on my own home - my parents needed a roof on two buildings down on their farm in Racine. (House and another building - both shingle roofs.) So i referred them to RQ Roofing. Once again- professional and timely in the quoting and response, work was impeccable - crew was great and my parents simply could not have been more impressed with the entire experience - including and especially the cleanup.

When I first called for a quote, Chris had someone at our house within the hour to review the hail damage. Chris gave us samples to pick colors from and even had us come over to his home to see how the finished product would look. I used to have Gutter Guard installed to keep leaves out. I had Chris remove this because of the ice it created in our driveway. Chris recommended a product to put in our gutters that would keep the leaves out and let the water through. With the little rain we had this year, it has worked great. He also showed us how this product was installed on his own home. The roofing crew was excellent, I've never seen a roof come off and go on so fast. I think they had everything done in under 5 hours. Once the roof was completed, David came out hung the gutters over the holiday weekend. I told them that they did not need to be there during the holiday, but they insisted on getting it done. Which was no problem for us. David is very nice and goes the extra mile to make sure you are satisfied with the end result. I believe David also does other work like painting, flooring and drywall. I had him come back to quote me on some painting I wanted done. His prices seem very fair and I know he would do a good job. The siding crew was also fantastic and did excellent work. I don't think Chris ever sleeps, I could email anytime day or night and within about 10 minutes I had a response. We had a couple of very minor issues that Chris and David took care of immediately. One was the roofing crew damaged a downspout and forgot a little spot of caulk. When I let Chris know David was out the next day and replaced the downspout and left an extra piece in case I need it in the future. Also, the next day the roofing crew was back and finished the little bit of caulk. When the siding was put on, we had a couple of drywall nails in our bedroom push through. I didn't expect them to do anything with this, but the day after I told Chris, David came out and patched the nail holes. We also had some other holes in the drywall that was unrelated and David even fixed these for us. One thing I would recommend is to ask them to roll your yard with a magnet to pick up nails when they finish. I picked a nail up in my lawnmower tire, they replaced the tire no questions asked. I think many companies should spend a day with Chris to learn exactly what customer service means (i.e., showing up on time for a job, responding to questions in a timely matter, resolving issues no matter how minor or even if it was their fault in a timely matter, making sure you are completely satisfied with the work, and giving a great price and warranty). I can't say enough good things about Chris and this company.

Great! They were quick to respond to my request for a bid, and did the job promptly. I recieved 5 bids and they were they only ones that suggested the system they used and it saved me a good amount of money. There was some rotted wood and we replaced all the wood and reinsulated. That was not in the original bid but I needed the insulation. The upcharge for the extra work was minimal. Very fair people to deal with. The crew was great and the clean up exceptional.

They did great! Arrived on time, were very courteous. Did a great job and were done by 4pm! Very hot day 98 degrees making it harder to do good quality job.

Ramiro Radriguez was exceptional in his services. He showed up when he said he would, was very agreeable in working with my needs. He was professional, efficient, courteous, and fair with pricing. His crew acted like clockwork, and removed 3 layers of shingles, sheeted in OSB, laid underlayment and shingles, all in less than 9 hours. Impressive. The only problem I saw was quite a few nails left behind after the cleanup. Overall, highly recommend Rodriguez Quality Roofing, and we plan on using their services again for another building.

I hope I remember stuff as I do not want to do any harm. It was a good company. Chris was the one who came to initiate the financial and legalities of it. He was very friendly and very nice. They came and did a good job. They were done in a couple of days, even with inclimate weather. They were courteous and did not interfere. They cleaned everything up. They took care of everything. I felt they were very honest and up front about everything. They just handled it very nicely. They were very good at price too.

Chris Jordan was very responsible when I contacted him. He called me back right away and came out shortly afterwards to provide an estimate which I believe I had within one or two days after contacting him. The price and proposal were very reasonable and once we signed a contract, Ramiro and his crew came out very shortly thereafter to do the work. The work was done by a crew of about 8-10 people and within about 5 hours the roof was almost completely done. They were a little short on shingles, but came out the next morning on a Saturday and within about 45 minutes the work was completely done.

They did a great and fantastic job. They found some mould on the under lined plywood after they tore down the roof and replaced that at the cost of the lumber itself. They came through and were on time. They were so busy that I got them to come out only after a couple of months. After they were done I had to call them back as there was a water diverter which they had taken down and not put back on. They also had to replace the chimney flash as it was a little substandard the way it was done.

Just great guys, work hard, honest. Hope all the business are like his.

I contacted several roofers for a quote for the job (I think about 4 contractors). The estimates came back anywhere from $10K all the way up to $16K. RQ Roofing was one of the lower priced bidders and since their reputation was good on Angie's list, I decided to use them. Also, my contact with them was professional and prompt. I have no regrets as the job was done perfectly. Believe me, there are other good ones out there (some on Angie's list) but they are over priced. I just couldn't believe that RQ did this for about $10K and another roofer (also on Angie's list with a good rep) was almost $16K on their quote. I'm sure they would have done a good job but they are making WAY too much money. My advice is get several quotes and go with a roofer that has a good reputation but isn't way over priced.

Rodriguez Roofing returned my call quickly when I asked for an appraisal, arrived when scheduled to do the appraisal, met on time with my insurance company, showed up to do the work when scheduled, did quality work, and the entire team was very pleasant to work with. Overall, an excellent contracting experience. I would recommend them to anyone.

The Rodriguez’ crew was professional, and they even did extra work free of charge. Not only was Mr. Rodrigues, the owner, on site, he was working along with his crew and making sure the work is done to his satisfaction. Chris Jordan, their consultant, explained the work as the crew was working, and provided us with tips to take care of the roof. He and Mr. Rodriquez were just plain nice guys. After they were done, the crew cleaned up everything and I could not be happier with the work done. I would highly recommend Mr. Rodriguez’ services to anyone who needs it, and we definitely will use them again.

Rodriguez Quality Roofing on balance did a very good job replacing the asphalt shinge roof of our house. The entire job was done in eight hours of hectic activity by the contractors roofing crew ( about 15 people removed the old roof and policed the ground for nails). The quality of the materials used were excellent (better than that used by several other roofing contractors I spoke with). The work was sound and we have experienced no problems with the roof in the ensuing two years. Last year, my insurance company inspected the roof and the inspector told me that the roof replacement job was well done.As others have noted, the contractor did "discover" a large number of "rotting" roofing sheets that needed to be replaced during the reshingling job. The good news is that Rodriguez Quality Roofing replaced them for a small fraction of the cost that other roofers would have charged for similar replacements. These replacements amounted to $900 of additional work on top of a $8000 roofing job. I don't know whether all of this roofing needed to be replaced but, on balance, the total job was still the lowest of any of the roofing contractors from whom I received bids. For comparison purposes our house is a 2500 square foot tri-level.The only bad thing that was done--and this is the only reason that I indicated that I would not use Rodriguez Quality Roofing in the future--was the damage that was done to my aluminum siding by the roofing crew. The siding was bent up at the certain points on the roof and really looks bad--so bad that I will need to replace the siding on the entire house this summer. I think that this could have been avoided if the siding had been removed first before installing the ice and water shield on the roof. This was not done due to the rapid pace of work on the job. That is unfortunate.

The work was done quickly and efficiently and exactly according to the contract. I was very pleased with the attention and responsiveness of Ramiro and his crew. I will definitely continue to recommend their services.

High quality work for a reasonable price. Arrived on time, finished on time. Even came by over the weekend to make sure no nails were scattered in yard. Very clean job. They covered bushes, porch and moved chairs so roofing materials wouldn't cause a mess. I would choose them again! Our whole roof was complete in one day.

The project was seamless, work was indeed quality and reasonable. Excellent job!

It took four days to receive a response to my initial inquiry. Once I did hear from Chris, they scheduled the work for that day or the next day. It was completed very fast and the price was reasonable. I'm not familiar with this type of roofing work and can't comment on the overall quality (winter will tell, I'm sure!), but if we make it through winter and spring with no issues, I'd give them an A. I didn't know the work had been completed and had to inquire several days later about the work and also had to request an invoice after none arrived for a couple weeks. I'm a new homeowner and had several questions regarding the fixes, all of which Chris answered patiently and capably. He promised that if we had any issues, they would be there to fix them for us and make it right. I would use them again.

The experience was great initially. Just recently, however, I tried to contact him to get my roof replaced, and had a difficult time. I was disappointed that I wasn't able to get in touch. I ended up going with another contractor for that job.
