I had a terrible experience with RidgeTop. As other reviewers have said, RidgeTop does not do have their own crews that do the window installations. The crew they used for my work told me that they usually only do siding work for RidgeTop and that they do the window jobs maybe once or twice a year. It seemed like this crew did not feel like doing the work as it took them a long time and they complained the whole time they were working. I was originally told that it would probably take about a day and half to complete the work. After the first day the windows were all in place but were not wrapped or insulated well with the outside looking like my house was still under construction. Then the crew never returned to finish the job. I waited a couple of days (I tend to be fairly patient with this kind of stuff) and then I called RidgeTop who had no idea that the crew never returned and that the job wasn't completed. It took them 2 weeks to complete the job and after all that time the work they had done was shoddy. I complained about being able to see daylight between the wall and the frame of the window so they sent another crew out to redo all of the insulation and wrap. That crew did a somewhat better job but not great because I still noticed that on windy days I was getting a lot of air coming through between the window frame and the wall. RidgeTop sent out a third crew which fixed that problem. Things seem better but at this point I am not even sure that the windows are truly properly installed...

They never returned our calls. When my husband contacted them again, they assured someone would arrive within a week. That was over two weeks again and still no calls or estimates.

Estimate was professional, price quoted was very close to the insurance estimate and was accurate (the estimate is what we actually paid). We wanted the work started within a week and Ridgetop was able to do that. The work crew was polite and did a good job; they did trample some of our plants but to be fair, our extensive perennial beds were impossible to avoid entirely, and they did at least a reasonable job of limiting the damage. Clean up was good. A pallet of leftover supplies was left in our driveway for over a month, but when we finally realized it had been forgotten and called them, they came the next day to get it.

Began at 7:00 am and finished at 3:00 pm.

I have to say that the service was fantastic and timely. They did an excellent job at clean-up. Gary went above and beyond in terms of removing materials and trash from the site. They were very prompt and efficient.

A Ridge Top representative arrived as scheduled to assess the job and provide an estimate. He was very friendly, responded to my lengthy list of questions, and listened to my special requests. After taking measurements and examining the condition of the roof, he developed an estimate on-site. The entire process took approximately 30-45 minutes. In preparing for this job, I had 7 companies complete estimates. Of the 7 companies, Ridge Top was one of the two most thorough and professional. Some companies didn't even schedule a time for an estimate, and just sent people to the house with tape measures. Ridge Top took the time to look at the roof deck from inside the attic and climbed up to both the house and garage roof to examine the shingle layers. The Ridge Top representative also noted that the house's chimney masonry was too deteriorated to be properly flashed, and would have to be repaired or removed, something some of the other roofers missed. Ridge Top estimated the entire job could be completed in one day. They provided an extensive list of past customers with addresses and phone numbers with the estimate. I called four random past customers in my neighborhood, and they all gave good reviews. The representative also left a shingle sample book and other information for me to look over. After I decided to accept Ridge Top's bid, it took approximately 2 weeks for the work to begin, far less than the 4-6 weeks originally quoted. Ridge Top was easy to work with regarding changes in the job (the original estimate called for flashing around a rebuilt chimney, but I decided to take it down, instead). The crew arrived very early on an unseasonably cold and very windy day. Their only requirement was an electrical outlet. They promptly went to work on removing the roof on the main house. The work went much slower than anticipated, partially because of unusually heavy waterproofing caulk that was around the dormer base from a previous repair. The roofers worked until dark with only a short break for lunch. By the end of the day, the team had removed the roof on the main house, removed the chimney and box vents, patched the holes, and installed the new drip edges, underlayment, and shingles, but had not completed the ridge vents, stack vents, nor the porch roof or garage roof. The Ridge Top representative updated me on their progress at the end of the day, apologizing for it taking longer than expected. Bright and early the next day, the roofers were back, and got to work on finishing the main house and started on the porch and garage. They faced extremely windy conditions, but did a good job at cleaning up debris. By the end of the day, they had completed the entire roofing job and cleaned up the yard and driveway. During the process of replacing the roof, the gutters on the main house got bent up (they were not in good shape to begin with). Ridge Top called in a contractor to replace them with new seamless gutters at no charge. The new, better gutters were installed before I even noticed the damage to the old ones. After all was said and done, I found only a few stray nails around they yard (none in the driveway). A separate siding team arrived several days later to replace the gable vents. They were unscheduled, but the work only took a couple of hours and didn't require access to the house. Several weeks later, while doing some paining work on the front of my house, I noticed that the gutter on the 3-season porch had not been properly reattached during the roof work (not the gutter that was replaced on the main house). I sent Ridge Top an email about it, and someone came by within a few days and fixed it. The entire project came in exactly at the estimated price. The only caveat I have about the job is that Ridge Top does subcontract their work. The roofers, gutter, and siding teams were all separate subcontractors. Use of subcontractors was one of the questions I asked during the estimate, and the representative responded that they've been using the same two roofing subcontractors for many years. Overall, a very good experience, I would recommend them and use them again.

We had some issues with Ridgetop Roofing. They left a lot of nails in the driveway. I was lucky that I didn't get a flat tire. They covered up the A/C while it was working, which is bad for the unit. They should have told me to shut the unit off. When they respond, they are very professional. However, a lot of times I would leave messages and not hear back from him.

See above... In the end things seem fine. I am concerned about the area where the shingles seem to be losing granules badly but I am monitoring it closely and have already contact IKO. As for the damage caused to the facia, they spray painted it and it looks good enough for now. The damage to the window was taken care of by me and I worked with the owner to reduce that repair from Ridgetop's final bill. I also made sure the window repair was reasonable...got a LOT of astronomical quotes!!!

RidgeTop did a great job on both the roofing and siding, which were installed several months apart. Buck was very helpful with our insurance company ensuring we got all new siding vs the one wall of non-matching siding the insurance company wanted us to accept. The crews were polite, professional and even installed the new exterior lights and shutters we had purchased.

They used a sub-contractor for that. Everything went great and they did a great job with cleaning up after themselves. Rather than just packing up, they carefully cleaned up.

Kevin was great to work with. He was very responsive to phone messages and was able to schedule the work quickly. He understood the insurance claims process and filed the necessary paperwork. The crew was prompt and did an excellent job; they finished in one day. They cleaned-up everything and there was no trace of debris when they left. We are very satisfied with Ridgetop and love our new roof!

They were great. A guy came out and measured and then they came back on the day we specified. They worked well and were fast; everything was done in one day and there were no problems. I will use them again in the future.

They contract out to other crews. They don't do their own work.

I got a number of quotes for this job because I knew it would be pretty expensive. Ridgetop wasn't the cheapest quote, but I was happy with the communication with Kevin Merk and with the company's rating on Angie's List and decided it was worth paying a little bit more for someone with whom I felt more comfortable. I got the quote last fall but couldn't start the work because of the winter weather. Kevin contacted me in the Spring about it, and we got the job set up for May 31. They weren't able to actually make it until June 8 (I think due to weather?), but I wasn't in a big hurry so I didn't mind. They showed up with a large crew and were able to get most of the way through the job in one day, only having to do a couple of hours of work the following day. The roof looks nice and is solidly constructed.

I received a very competitive quote.

A crew of at least 10 showed up at our house at 6:45 am on 07/21/11. They tarped the area to keep nails (etc.) from getting into the lawn and flower beds. They brought a dumpster on wheels, removed the vents and shingles from the roof, threw all the old shingles plus wrapping materials from the new shingles and all other scrap material in the dumpster, applied tar paper and ice guard, nailed on the new shingles, put on the new ridge vent, ran a magnet over the area to pick up any nails, cleaned up, and were gone by 2 pm. Ridge Top Roofing did a great job for us and I would recommend them to anyone.

It went very very well. Responded in 2 days with estimate and completed the work in 6. Workmanship was excellent and cleanup was too.

It went well. My wifes plantings were spared and they cleaned up all the debris. It took the crew about 12 hours for the whole job.

We had a major hail storm in the area and had Ridgetop come out and check the roof. They said there was no damage to the roof. After seeing a majority of our neighbors getting their roofs replaced, we call the insurance company and had them inspect the roof. The adjuster agreed to replace the entire roof and gutters. I did receive a call from from the the company after making my initial post on Agnie's List. He was very friendly and responsive to my situation and asked if he could come out take a look at the roof again. I appreciate the fact that he took time to call me and ask for more details on the original inspection. I've updated the overall experience I've had with Ridgetop to reflect past business I've had with them at a previous house. The replaced a roof of ours about 4-5 years ago. I think the quality of the work on that house was good.

We called Ridgetop to check our roof after a recent hail storm. Even though 2 other (crooked) companies had told us our roof had to be completely redone, Ridgetop checked everything and told us we had no damage. Buck was very punctual (in fact arrived early), very knowledgeable and very thorough in his checking. We would definitely use Ridgetop in the future should we really need a new roof.

We had worked with them on a total re-roofing 5 (or more) years ago following a major hailstorm, and were very willing to call them to install our new gutter in the years following. When we called about the repair, we had someone out looking at the damage and giving a very reasonable estimate (by comparison to two others) for the work. Work was complete when they said it would be, and has held up well.

Very prompt, courteous service. They were extremely efficient as well. In and out in one day, you can't ask for better than that.

They were reasonable. We got other quotes and they were somewhere in the middle. They did a fine job. They did the work in just one day and did a really good job in cleaning. We were very pleased with them. One of my neighbors also ended up going with them.

They were prompt, professional & knowledgeable. I liked them and wouldn't hesitate to call them again.

The repairs were done in just a couple hours. First the roofer came buy to install the new tiles and then the gutter man came to replace the bent sections of gutter, even replacing the gutter guard as in the original gutter. The workers were fast, friendly and even cleaned up afterward.
