Great working with Ridge Top Exteriors. They were very professional. Generally kept us well informed of the progress of our order and the work. Worksite cleanup was very good. Would definitely use again and recommend to others.

They were wonderful to work with. They accommodated getting the work done for us on a very tight schedule. We were trying to get it done before we closed on selling that house. They were very accommodating and the quality of work was very good. It was quality repair work. They were able to diagnose any issues and repair them in a very timely manner.

Everything has been great service, and most prices fair but last bid we got from them for flat roof repair (minor) was too steep plus a $500 minimum, which we thought was unfair. Had a place come in and do a great job for $175. I understand that maybe they don't want to take small jobs but we've been customers of theirs at least 3 times ... which should count for something.

Very well. Rick, Jay and Michael were a pleasure to have at our house. They worked hard and well and had many good ideas for the choices we had to make such as where to put the rebuilt steps. They reused as much wood as they could and the final cost was very close to the estimate made by Jim. Rick Lewin, the carpenter, demonstrated outstanding ownership for the quality of the work and for resolving any issues.

I had hail damage. They would not give me an estimate without going through my insurance. Who would make a claim without having some idea of how much damage is done? Bad business practice. Tried to tell me how the insurance industry works when I work in it.

Response from Ridge Top Exteriors Inc
Our company policy has always been to provide homeowners with a free assessment for any home exterior damage, storm related or not. When we are called upon for storm related occurrences, we can determine whether there is enough damage to warrant a claim but we cannot write estimates for the insurance company. We do, however, act as an advocate for the homeowner if they disagree with the estimate written by the insurance adjuster. We look over the adjusters findings and verify that the adjuster has not overlooked any damage in their report. The insurance company determines their own estimates and do not simply accept an estimate from a roofing company or fund claims based on quotes for repairs or replacement from a roofing company. They have their own guidelines and valuations of repairs, but Ridge Top Exteriors does meet with the adjuster on behalf of the homeowner to ensure that all damages are accounted for and included in their inspection so that the homeowner will receive the maximum benefit of their claim. We have worked with numerous insurance companies in various cities for thousands of homeowners hit with storm damage. It has been our experience throughout the decades that filing a claim for any type of "act of God" incident does not penalize or cause the premium of homeowner's insurance to go up. What we have found is that once a storm has hit a certain area, the area becomes a risk location to the insurance company and they raise their rates across the board whether a homeowner has filed a claim or not. We have always worked with many insurance companies in the best interest of our customers. We have advocated and helped thousands of homeowners with their storm damage claims throughout the years. Our reviews across the web are a stellar testament of the quality of service and the integrity of our business practice. We're disappointed that we apparently fell short of your perceived expectation of our service and that we were not able to better express our policy. We sincerely wish you the best in resolving the issues with your damaged roof.

Ridge Top sided and insulated my home. They did a great job, and what I particularly liked was the trim job. They paid attention to the edges of the home, which I did with a complimentary color. It looks very sharp! They did a careful trim job around the top of my garage door. It's the attention to the little details that I particularly appreciated. The sales person was nice and explained everything and, in particular, their "finisher" who made sure the trim jobs were done was top notch!

The contract was agreed upon on June 16, 2016. I was told this would be a one day job at most. The job was completed on August 12,2016. Two months of excuses and one attempt to not do all the work that was estimated in the contract. However they are excellent at delivery of and follow up of the invoice. These people are the reason the general public dislikes and doesn't trust builders. If you are going to deal with them negotiate a completion date with associated penalties for not meeting the completion date. Otherwise a one day job can take two months.

Our experience with Ridgetop Exteriors was excellent, beginning to end. The agent/contractor, Ron, came promptly for the estimate to completely re-roof our house, he listened carefully to what we wanted, provided key information about what was needed, and gave us written estimate printed on the spot. His was the third of 5 estimates. The result was that we up-graded to ridge-top vents and a higher quality shingle, and he revised the estimate. He returned promptly for us to sign the contract and schedule the job. We chose Rooftop because the bid was very competitive (not the highest or lowest), the job could be scheduled within a month, and because the agent/contractor was no-nonsense, straight-forward guy. The re-roofing was done on schedule and on-time. The crew was hard-working and outstanding. The care to install three new skylights with flashing kits was appreciated. The cleanup of the yard afterwards was excellent – virtually no bits of shingle or nails, etc. Two extremely heavy rains in the month since show that Ridgetop did a great job. Thanks.

I'm new to looking for contractors, so I thought Angie's List might give me and edge to find a contractor to redo our roof. Mike from Ridgetop exteriors was prompt about getting a meeting setup and coming out to my house to take a look at the problem. He was scheduled to be there at 8, I took the day off, and at 8:15 I got a voiceimail telling me that I wasn't home even though I was sitting on the couch waiting for him. Then there some excuse about a tree falling on his boss' house so he would need to reschedule. I rescheduled, but I couldn't make the appointment, so I had my wife be there. Mike came through took picture and told us he would be in contact. More than a Week later, i get a call to and am asked to come to their office to discuss the options, so I AGAIN take time out of work to go out there, and find out THEY HAD NOTHING READY. It was a meet and greet with Mike's Boss that could have easily taken place over the phone. Now They want to Schedule Another Meeting to see the house. So I AGAIN take the day off work to accommodate them. They spent 10 minutes looking around and told me they'd have a qoute to me by the end of the week. A week went by, then two , then 3, and then on FINALLY on the 5th week, Mike's boss calls and leaves me a message indicating that he and Mike have been out with the flu, and they'd like to check in with us to see what we'd like to do next. I was done at that point. this is 4 months, and Still NO QUOTE.

Response from Ridge Top Exteriors Inc
The success of Ridge Top Exteriors, Inc. depends on consistently delivering customer experiences that exceed the expectations of each and every individual that contacts us, whether for a small repair or a large commercial project. The mainstay of the customer experience is open and honest dialog. Within the framework of this dialog we find that it is imperative to learn from every customer contact as we seek to continuously improve our systems and procedures. On rare instances we do fall short of the expectations of those who have sought us out for solutions to their needs and again we learn from those experiences. One aspect of our daily operational procedures is that we log all contacts and attempted contacts with our customers and prospective customers. Within the contact log we also annotate the outcome of each contact, whether in person or via email, text or phone. In this particular case it was noted that the Homeowner did not show up for the initial appointment with our rep. The log stated that the rep knocked three times on both the front and back doors of the home and called, but the call went unanswered. Contact was established later and another appointment was scheduled. I personally accompanied our representative at the next meeting. We spent a considerable amount of time investigating and pointing out issues to the Homeowner. We found that there was substantial water damage on the interior of the home and the issues contributing to this damage appeared to have been neglected for a very long period of time. The leaking had caused wood to rot away and drywall/plaster to deteriorate to the point that it had become unserviceable. This damage did not occur overnight, but in fact way have taken a number of years to become this distressed. Over the course of the following weeks our log indicates that follow up calls were made to the homeowner and messages were left to set an appointment in order to discuss their options. All of these messages were left unanswered by the Homeowner. Four days after our last attempt to contact the Homeowner, it is annotated in our log that the Homeowner contacted our office to inform us that they had selected another contractor for their project. It is unfortunate that the Homeowner feels he was not attended to properly and feels that their inaction in regard to returning our calls is a reflection of our service. We have nearly ten-thousand customers who would disagree.

This was a challenging job for any roofer! The section of roof involved had 4 solar Hot Water panels on it, which my new insurance company demanded that I re-roof (after accepting my money for a year!), even though the shingles were not exposed to sun, and the sheathing was good as new. First I had to locate a plumber to remove the solar panels, do system upgrades, and re-install panels after the roof work was completed. Then I needed a roofing company that could work around, and flash to, the remaining solar panel mounting brackets and fluid pipes. I also had 5-6 turtle vents on the front of the roof (done by another company 8 years ago), some of which where damaged, and a badly damaged (tree branch) kitchen vent cap that was allowing storm water into the microwave in heavy storms that needed replacement. Ridgetop agreed to tear off and re-shingle from the old turtle vent locations, up to the ridge, remove the old turtle vents and replace with a ridge vent system, install a new storm proof kitchen vent, and tear off and re-shingle the back side that had been under the solar panels, and flash around the solar panel mounting brackets and fluid pipes. Ridgetop's sales person, Jeff Anderson, was superb to work with; he not only grasped all the intricacies of the work needed, but also communicated superbly with me to coordinate their schedule with my plumber/solar technician's work...all during extremely unpredictable spring weather. The work was completed to my satisfaction, all in one day, with no damage to the solar fittings or solarium glass panels directly underneath the roof section involved....as promised. I could not be happier with the timeliness, communications, pricing or work quality with this job....very impressed! Much Thanks Jeff, Ridgetop, and the hard working roofers who did a challenging job under tough conditions!!
Description of Work: They did tear off and re-roofing of roof section, including replacing old turtle vents with ridge vents, and replaced leaking kitchen vent with new weather proof one.

Overall it went well, but they didn't do a perfect job of cleaning up afterwards. I found bits of old roof here and there, and a few gutter nails that were dropped and not picked up. So far we haven't had any problems with the new roof.
Description of Work: They tore off two layers of shingles and replaced with architectural shingles. $825 of the cost was for 15 sheets of OSB to replace decking. We used a coupon to have all the gutters replaced as a free add-on.

The only reason for B is because we chose another company to do the work. Scheduling was easy. Expeditor prompt and friendly. Took time to explain choices and reasons for costs. Their price was the lowest but I believe their quality would have been top notch as well. Time to project start was reasonable. The only reason we didn't use them is because my husband liked the person from another company better. I would consider them again for work. I should add, the leaf protection recommended was one of the best rated in Consumer Report this year. (Issue came after work was completed)

Tim was great - very professional!! We had some very minor siding repairs and had difficulties in getting other contractors to return calls. One contractor told me the job was too small for them to consider. Communication with Ridge Top Exteriors was excellent. All repairs were completed the next day in about an hour. It's obvious that customer service is priority #1 at Ridge Top. We could not be happier with how everything went!

I have to say that my experience with Ridge Top was one of the worst experience I have ever had with a contractor. The company did not flash the chimney correctly. I ended up with water leaking into my newly remodeled upstairs and downstairs ceiling, floor and walls. The flashing around my skylights was not done correctly as well. I ended up having a leak, and had to have the area around the skylight replaced and re-flashed. The workers were always very nice and came over many times and tried to correct the problems, but the problems continued. I finally called the owner, who was not very professional over the phone but, reluctantly came over to take a look at the leaking chimney situation. He didn't offer to fix any of the damage to the two bathrooms as the damage was clearly evident by past and present photos. I would not recommend this company. They were expensive and the quality was poor.
