Scam artist: He took half money up front, even though I provided all materials. He was supposed to start at noon (6/27); I had to call him at 2:30 & he didn't show til 4. He worked for about 2 hours on a veryminor job (replacing the light fixture) that should have taken 15-30 minutes, of he had brought a sawzall or other cutting tools. He managed to break the wall & left me to patch it. He was supposed to return the next morning at 9, & he showed up at noon, without calling. He tried sanding a porch floor with a belt sander, when I told him before he started that it was too small when I used one & required a floor sander. He spent an hour just making the floor look worse. He was overwhelmed by the cabinet upgrade , although it was spelled out in our signed written contract. He then left to get OOLS to remove broken slate siding from the house. He was supposed to return in an hour, but never returned since then, & never called. He was also scheduled to return the following morning at 9 for the siding, and again never showed, never called. His answering system is 'always full' & can't take messages. He never responded to my emails. 4 days later he sent an email claiming he had been messaging me. I emailed him requesting my money back & I have not heard from him since. He has GLOWING references & an impressive portfolio of very major renovations and remodeling jobs.
Description of Work: Scam artist: He took half money up front, even though I provided all materials. He was supposed to replace a surface mounted light switch with a conventional remodel receptacle box, cutting a hole intothe lath & plaster wall & reconnecting the wires, which he did, but mangled. Then he was supposed to sand a 8 X 17 foot porch floor, which I had stripped the paint off with heat gun and chemicals. He was supposed to sand it & possibly varnish it later. He sanded a 6" X 36" and then a separate 3" X 12" sections in the middle, making the floor look much worse. At least previously, it had been fairly uniform in appearance. He was supposed to have put in a framework in a cabinet, to support two pre-built drawers, drill holes & screw in the pre-madecabinet doors & screw down the plywood top. He did nothing to it. He was supposed to remove a small approx 4' X 6' small triangular section of slate siding from a gable & use the materials to replace 15 broke or cracked pieces at the bottom of the house.
