The work that was performed was poor. The trim was damaged during transport and installed anyway. Pat was given $7000 as a down payment for obtaining the oak doors and trim for our home. The items never arrived. He kept indicating that the wood was on backorder. I called the lumber company that he stated he was ordering from and they said they had no order placed or due for his company. Finally, when pressed Pat inidicated that the money was gone. He used it for himself instead of purchasing the wood for our home. We entered into a repayment agreement. He made a couple of initial payments but he has falied to repay us over 3 years later. We arefinally taking this to small claims court to

He gave me a good estimate at the start of the project ($30/hour). Unfortunately I didn't put things in writing. He continued to work in my house, making marks in my floor and walls, but every time he said he'd take care of it at the end of the job. I figured we could trust him since my boyfriend both knew and had worked for him. I had a feeling this wouldn't go well, but when he charged me $1000 more, I knew I was in trouble. He said he did so much more for me when I questioned him on the price, but all he had done was hang a closet door. He then had the audacity to ask me to refer him to others. He takes long breaks and I felt like he took advantage of my lack of knowledge of the industry and his type of work. I would never use him in the future.
Description of Work: He installed a wood floor in the living room and kitchen of my house.
