Olp LLC

Olp LLC is a small family-owned excavating service. I first contacted him for demolition of an old house that was beyond repair. Steve Olp (owner) showed up for the estimate and was very knowledgeable. It didn't hurt that he offered the lowest bid of three contractors. During demolition, I was so impressed with his work ethic that I asked him to stay on for the new excavation as well as installing a new sewer line. He is licensed to do all exterior plumbing work so he was a good fit for what I needed. Over the course of overseeing his work, I was very impressed with his attention to detail. Normally you don't think of excavation as a detail-oriented job, but besides being a licensed plumber for exterior work, he is also a skilled surveyor. He made sure the excavation and appropriate fill was brought in for the new foundation and was leveled and compacted at the exact height specified. That is detail work. He made sure the 90' sewer lateral was laid at the right depth and sloped properly–another crucial detail. He also made insightful suggestions about drainage that ended up saving me time and money in the long run. He performed the work as if it was his own house, always thinking about how his work would affect the new building performance and trying to forestall any problems that might crop up. If I could use the term 'craftsman' for something as rough as excavation, I would call him a craftsman. For demolition, excavation, sewer line work, etc. you would be fortunate to hire Steve Olp as your contractor.
