We had no idea what the job would entail when we brought Rick in. We just knew that the front porch was sagging more and more every year, which was causing the porch windows and door to warp. In fact the porch was beginning to separate from the house because the wood pilings that held it up had begun to disintegrate. Rick correctly diagnosed the problem and offered us an affordable solution that would halt the sagging, repair the porch, increase the value of our house, and allow us to make plans to make better use of our porch. Rick worked in the un-heated space below our porch during 3 of the of the coldest weeks of the winter and did a beautiful job. We are very happy that the porch floor was successfully and perfectly leveled with no damage to the porch itself or to any of the windows. Our porch is It is ready now for new windows and use as a true 3-season space.

We hired Larson Builders, owned by Rick Larson, to do a very complex remodeling job on our house and are extremely pleased with the work done. We found Rick to be personable, reliable and resourceful throughout the renovation process. He puts customer satisfaction above all else and was extraordinarily responsive to our concerns and questions. We were impressed with the quality of his sub-contractors. Rick has a great relationship with them and managed this very complex project efficiently and economically. We were especially pleased by the work of Dixon Drywall and Texture and Northside Electrical. There was very little downtime once the work began; disruption to our household was minimal. I was able to work in my office throughout the renovation. Rick puts a high value on clean-up; the work areas were picked up and vacuumed at the end of each day. Rick provided us with a detailed accounting of all work and associated costs which he updated with us as the job progressed. If Rick did not know the answer to any of our questions, he let us know, did the research, and if necessary, brought in experts who could do the work. For instance, he coordinated with the furniture makers, Black and Sons, to have our front door refurbished and made weather-tight. Rick consulted with a mason and roofing expert to take down the chimney and re-shingle the leaking area of the roof. Rick provided creative solutions to several areas of the project. We decided to expose the bricks of the chimney in our dining room. Rick came up with a creative and beautiful way to build the moldings and wall around this feature. In the attic, Rick's created gorgeous, clean lines in the process of furring out the rafters. The finished attic is quite stunning. Venting the oven involved another creative solution because of the difficulty he encountered while fitting the duct work into the space available. The job was certainly not cheap, but considering the huge amount of work that was done and the complexity of the project that required the work of so many people, we feel that it was done most economically.

These guys do quality work and don't cut corners. They took all kinds of additional steps that will protect my investment for years to come.
