The project went really well. Brian at KIC was great to work with. He listened to our needs and created a design that met them while staying within budget. He and Rick were great about recommending custom cabinets and granite counter tops that were not budget busters, but are high quality and beautiful.
Selecting a general contractor was up to us, but they recommended a couple to compete with one we were planing to have bid. Brian helped us review the bids to make sure we were comparing apples to apples.
Once the cabinets were delivered to their warehouse and demolition began, Brian stayed in touch with the contractor to ensure his design was being followed, and to help resolve the surprises that arise when working on a 100 year old house.
Cabinet installation took a week, which seemed long, but our floors and ceiling are not level so lots of adjustments had to be made so that the counter tops would be level and the crown molding butted up to the ceiling. In the end, they professionally hid our house's flaws. (Not easy!)
Counter tops took almost three weeks between waiting for the granite people to measure, and then cut and install them. THAT was painful as we were tired of cooking on a camp stove by this point. Just a warning to anyone having a kitchen remodel that this was the longest part of the whole project and I'm so glad the weather was good enough to cook outside.
From day 1 demolition to the final touch-up, this took seven weeks. In the end, it was TOTALLY worth it. We absolutely love the new kitchen. The Woodland cabinets seem like really good quality (glides, slow close, thickness of wood, construction method, etc.) and everyone raves about how attractive they are. The granite counter tops are awesome. And the overall design is more efficient than what we lived with for the first 10 years of living in this house.
Neither of us has remodeled or built a new kitchen before. KIC was a great resource to guide us on this path. I completely trust them and would highly recommend them to anyone considering a kitchen remodel.

Kitchen Ideas Center was the guys who designed and did kitchen remodeling for us. The service was good. The price included the designing service and the cabinets. They were all custom made home cabinets. That was the only quote that we got. We were so impressed with them when we were dealing with them that we didn't get other quotes. I would rate the quality pretty good. We did have a problem with a couple of the doors on the cabinets. It looks like when the cabinet makers put them together, they put one of the rails on with the crown up instead of the crown down, so it bowed the door. Kitchen Ideas Center replaced them with no charge. If we ever did any redesigning we would use them again but once you do your kitchen then that's it. Our kitchen went from the design of the 1970's to modern design now. They also did our granite counter tops as part of that price.

Working with Chuck W was a pleasure. From the beginning interview, he was very knowledgeable and an extraordinary designer, both creative and very realistic. When a problem occurred with an expensive granite countertop, Kitchen Ideas was quick to make it right. We love these folks! THe cabinets are excellent quality and they have infinite patience working and refining designs.
