It went well.

I had met quite a few real estate agents over the years prior to listing my house for sale, and Kara was the only one who followed up regularly (professionally, not annoyingly) and was willing to thoroughly answer my questions and accommodate my needs for services. She made a number of good suggestions for staging my old house, with a cost/benefit analysis, and leaving the final decisions up to me. I took her advice on almost everything and found that these changes (updating brass lighting fixtures to brushed bronze, replacing outdated laminate countertops in kitchen with new laminate countertops {to keep costs down}, removing extra furniture and personal items) did seem to make the house more appealing to potential buyers. When potential buyers expressed interest, Kara sought to give them all the information that they needed and regularly followed up with them to attempt to close the deal. She negotiated well on my behalf and gave me good advice about countering, and finally accepting, offers. Through no fault of hers, my closing was delayed and looked uncertain a few times -- she worked every day to stay in contact with all the interested parties and to move the deal along. The best news -- the final sales price that I received was higher than she or I had originally anticipated, thus allowing me to expand my budget for a new home. She tirelessly identified homes in my new target area and arranged many showings for me before I found the right house for me. She was professional in negotiations yet definitely had my best interests in mind, and I'm very happy with the house that I purchased. Kara was also the most organized agent that I've come across -- even the listing and buyers' agents with whom she worked to sell my house and help me buy a new house relied on her for paperwork, keeping track of deadlines, etc.!
