In the beginning, I found Joe to be good at communicating and appeared to care about the quality of the work performed. However, as the time spent on the job increased due to bad weather, his behavior undermined past goodwill. For example: Upon completion, he immediately demanded final payment even though he didn't have a final invoice written and fixing minor damage to my neighbors property was incomplete. Worse, he said he badly needed the money so he could pay his employees the next day. Against my best judgement, I paid him in full because he gave me his word he would make the fixes. He didn't fix anything...haven't heard from him. I have since paid for repairs to my neighbor's flower garden and have made a number of other small repairs to my own property...my fingers are crossed that there are no larger surprises given he is clearly not standing behind his work.
