This is the second time we have had occasion to utilize Ader's services. He phoned before the appointment to say he was on the way to picking up a new transformer and would be a few minutes behind the scheduled arrival time. He efficiently, professionally, and meticulously, installed new products that required some modification of dry wall . He is friendly, neat, fair. and explains what needs to be done. We recommend his business and would most definitely use him again.

When I initially contacted the service provider, he did not seem to be aware of the deal. It took a little time to get an appointment scheduled because he was booked up solid, but when he came out to do the work, it went very well. He was nice and pleasant.

"Helping Hands" is a fitting name for this company. I had a unique request to have them work closely with a home theater company and the communication was excellent. You can trust this company to do the job properly and they were always on time.

It went okay and they fixed everything that was needed. Everything looks good and now works. The scheduling was good and he did the work when he was supposed to. He got the job done in the 2 hours that the Big Deal covered.

It was several months ago but as I recall we had a problem contacting him because he was on vacation but that was minor. The work was done accurately and quickly. As with all projects it always costs more than anticipated but that's why they have these coupon deals.

It was easy to schedule the service. On the day of the appointment I received a call to let me know what time they would arrive, then someone arrived 30 minutes earlier than expected. I had purchased the deal for $89 for 2 hours of service. The work took about 2.5 hours so I was charged for the extra time and for a couple parts. The rates were very reasonable, and the work was done to my satisfaction. The worker was professional and courteous. I would use this company again.

this was one of the worst experiences that i've had on angie's list. so very disappointed. it started off going very well. came out to the house to get more information on the jobs we wanted done. it went downhill from there. it took a long time to get the quote and when I got the quote I was shocked to see how much he wanted to charge us. Keep in mind, I had another Angie's List electrician out previously and I was basing what they could get done off of what the other company was able to get done in an hour. Had to narrow the scope of the work being done. Waited for several months to get a new quote. Finally, after numerous calls from me to the provider, got them out to the house. Based on our previous conversations and narrowing the scope of the work, I was excited just to get the project done. I will say that the quality of the work seems to be good. I was led to believe that the work done would be covered under the angie's list big deal i bought. imagine my surprise when i got a bill for another $100. I was very upset. Called to ask them what's going on. they were not helpful and had no plans on working to make me a happy customer. i had no plans to pay them. About a month goes by and they call me asking for their money. i again out line my concerns with the process and what I was led to believe. they threatened to send my account to a collection agency. i finally paid them tonight but i am still so very disappointed with the provider. i can't believe that angie's list has these guys on there and that other reviewers have had good experiences with them.

Response from Helping Hands Electric LLC
Dear [member name removed], We would like to thank you for the opportunity you gave us to earned your business and regret were not able to met your expectations. We appreciate the time you took to leave us a feed back on your experience with our company, since it will help us improve some areas in our service. I feel we did a great job on your property and our prices were reasonable. I recommend next time you hire a contractor you educated yourself not only on the cost of the work but also what it is involved on getting the work done so you could understand how each job gets price out. Also every company has different expenses and overhead cost which could significantly change the price from job to job. It is not just about the installation of an outlet, it is also moving furniture, sweeping, vacuuming, drilling studs, making sure that not only your outlet is done up to code and up to your expectations, but also that your house is left in excellent conditions. As far as the threat about the collection agency, it is standard practice and we have an automatic system which will submit any account in default to a collection agency. I didn't mean to sound as a threat, I was just trying to place a courtesy call to prevent your account from going into default, even when you were pretty direct to me when you told you have no rush on paying your bill and choose not to pay your bill on time. Here at Helping Hands Electric we try to provide the best service possible and the best experience to our customers and our reviews can confirm that, our main goal is to keep our clients happy, we are very sorry we lost you as a customer and were not able to met your expectations. Take care.

Our old oven crashed big time and sparks flew out the back. It left some scorch marks on the wall behind which we found after taking the old oven out and were going to replace it with a new oven. I had called Ader about mid-day hoping I could get someone to check my outlet before installing the new stove. He was doing a job, but he did offer to come later that evening to check it out so we could have our stove up and running again. This was great as we didnt want to go another few days without the stove. The outlet was in good shape, but wired a bit wrong so he rewired the outlet, connected and tested our new stove. He did a great job, very courteous and professional. The price was great for all he did for us.

The work was very well done! It was neat and tidy, the outlet of course worked perfectly. He had a few extra minutes, so asked if there was anything else. He then fixed the two-way switch that had been wired wrong by the previous DIY owner of the house. My only slight complaint, he was 45 minutes late. It was snowing a bit that morning, but a phone call would have been great, since I took time off work to be home. Setting up the appointment took a bit too and was a little odd. They emailed me about the coupon, saying that they had called me, which they had not. When I called back it was someone's personal cell phone. Not a big deal, but just generally, if you use your cell phone for business and an unknown number calls it, you might answer professionally, Anyway, I called him, he called me back, they called me back again. But got the appointment set up , all good. I would recommend this business and use them again. Phone etiquette is far removed from an electrician's ability. Also, very cool thing. Materials were not included, so they billed me for the materials, $60-ish. You can pay your invoice online!

It worked out well. They did a nice job. They charged me an additional $118 on top of the Big Deal price. They did good work. I don't have any complaints. I think they were too expensive for what they did. It took them a couple of weeks to get everything lined up and then they were right there. I think they did really nice work, but they were too expensive and that is why we won't use them again.

When the technician was unable to arrive at the scheduled time, we received a phone call in advance telling us of the delay and setting an appointment later in the day. He arrived a few minutes before the newly scheduled time after phoning us to update us on travel time. He was prompt, efficient, courteous, pleasant, and the cost was very reasonable. He explained everything he was doing and why it was recommended. We would highly recommend his services.
Description of Work: Had to diagnose which 3-way switch, one in garage or one in house was failing to turn outside lights on and off. It was discovered that the original switches were never grounded, nor were (old) switches adjacent to the defective switch properly wired. All switches were replaced, at no higher cost than I would have spent at the local Ace Hardware Store, grounded, and properly wired.

Helping Hands did a very professional job and paid attention to the details. While I wish they might have provided information in a more timely fashion on occasion, they always followed through with what they said they would do, and always showed up when they said they would. The occasional delay in getting information was not a concern because I knew they were busy and would follow through with the information.

Two hitches: the original wiring in the bathroom wouldn't allow modification without great expense. The light socket in the ceiling fan was delayed b/c the facility supposed to fix it was slow. The provider is likely not to use the contractor again. Else, the work was well done and the provider was quite professional and nice.
Description of Work: The provider replaced old fluorescent tube lights with new sockets and bulbs in the basement; fixed the broken socket on the ceiling fan, and tried to fix an outlet in the bathroom to be on when the overhead lights were off. Unfortunately, the original wiring was such this wasn't possible without a great deal of effort and work, which I declined. The providers were courteous, professional and sensitive to getting the work done.
