We had Patrick come in to give us an estimate on upgrading our bathroom. He was on time, very pleasant, courteous and professional. He gave us many different options and ideas on what we could do along with various places/web sites to visit. He then responded back with an estimate and detailed information in a very timely and professional manner. Very thorough and complete. Thank you, Patrick!

I got Patrick's name from Angie's List and called him to request help finishing our fall/winter "honey-do" list. He responded promptly to my call and was able to perform an estimate within the week. In person, Patrick is calm, courteous and very knowledgeable-- his demeanor really put me and my husband at ease. (Our dog, who often growls at strange men, also took to him right away!) Although he is currently booked months-out for larger jobs, he was able to squeeze in our 4-ish hours of odd jobs into his schedule. He arrived for the work right on schedule, with all the equipment he needed, and he performed the work quickly and well. Our bathroom tub looks much nicer minus a lot of old mildewed caulk -- which Patrick somehow removed all trace of! -- and the house is already cozier thanks to several suggestions Patrick helped us with for low-cost insulation. Aside from the fact that Patrick is very pleasant and professional, we especially appreciated his willingness to help us fix things ourselves. Patrick may just be too busy to take on everything himself, but I was really impressed that he was willing to advise clients on how to do easy things he could otherwise charge us for. Thanks to his advice, we were able to prioritize repairs to suit our current budget and our long-term plans to be in this house. UPDATE: Due to excessive moisture in our bathroom, some of the caulk Patrick originally put in our shower didn't dry fully in the first 24 hours. When we emailed to let him know, we got exactly the kind of response every service professional should give: "Yikes! None of that sounds good at all. Please allow me to assess and correct." He made himself available to come back over almost immediately and redid the work as necessary-- without charging us a thing. The new (100 percent silicone) caulk he put in appears to have done the trick. Again, my husband and I can't say enough good things about working with Patrick as a handyman.

I found that Patrick can do just about anything and do it well. He will always do things right even when there is a possible shortcut that nobody will ever see. He has a great sense of design and will help his clients work things out to their best advantage. In addition, Patrick is one of the most optimistic and grounded individuals I have ever met. It's probable that every client he serves becomes a personal friend. Even in the midst of demolition and rebuilding his (punctual) arrival each day makes it a good day.

I almost don't want to submit this review because it means he will be even more impossible to book! This was our first major remodeling project and Patrick did a great job of helping us work through it step by step (even when I freaked out about the color of the tile I had picked). He was helpful in terms of where to get different materials and what to expect in terms of price. He spent time with us running through different options until we found one we all liked and that was affordable. He helped me figure out the permitting process and had recommendations for other contractors for some work. Patrick is kind and infinitely patient. He has great responses to email which was immensely helpful. He put up with an over-friendly dog and 2 young curious kids with great patience. He was incredibly conscientious about trying to keep the house as livable as possible during the project. I had no concerns about him being in the house when we weren't there. He came in on budget and on time. We're hoping to get him back in to work on several other projects.

He did an awesome job. He even was willing to go shopping to get another sink that I wanted in place of the original one. He went above and beyond.

I needed to order the materials from North Carolina since I was out of town and he was very helpful. I think the job of replacing the toilet was more involved than he expected. The floor underneath needed quite a bit of work, but he did not raise the price of his estimate. The best thing is that he is a very nice fellow. The kind of person you WANT to pay because he deserves it.

went great. Patrick is a real professional. The wood was teak which was more difficult to work with than expected and raised the labor cost a bit, but he did a great job.

Patrick was extremely easy to work with and very professional - always willing to accommodate any ideas I had as well as providing invaluable suggestions of his own. The remodel project was done as a 'surprise' for my husband while we were on vacation and due to the communication Patrick and I had before we left I was not the least bit concerned or worried while I was gone. From my point of view I truly felt he accomplished the impossible in getting everything done in 2 short weeks (I know from others how long these projects take so I really didn't think there was any way that everything would be completed prior to our return - he is truly a 'miracle' worker). There is no way I can convey the amount of detail work he put into everything to such satisfaction. I originally thought the inspiration for the bathroom came from one of the 'models' at the Tile Store in Madison, but ours turned out sooooo much better I am still amazed. After it was completed, my husband said it looked like I took the best from all the bathrooms we've seen on House Hunters and House Hunters International (our favorite shows) and combined them into the best looking bathroom ever! As corny as it sounds whenever we walk into the bathroom we can't help, but smile - it is truly awesome. Every morning as I get ready for work I feel like I'm in a spa - it is so relaxing and absolutely beautiful. I would and have recommended Patrick to everyone I know and will definitely use him for any work we do on our house in the future.

The project took about 4 weeks. Patrick was a delight to work with every step of the way. He was very flexible and everyone in the family loved having him around. He even put the toilet back in every evening whenever he needed to take it out so that my mother wouldn't have to go upstairs to go to the bathroom. The final product looks even better than we expected.

He was easy to work with, punctual, flexible with scheduling, did the work, and knew what he was doing.

Patrick was very professional during the estimate. You could tell he is a very honest person and has tons of experience. He offered lots of advice throughout his stay at our house. Unfortunately he chose not to do our job since it was on the second story and alot for 1 guy to take on. But this is what sets him apart, he knows his limits and chose the save his knees the stress of going up and down our stairs 1000 times during the estimated 5 week project. He did provide names of other contractors he trusts could do this job which was a huge help.

Patrick is again, the most attentive and hardworking individual one could hope to have work on their project. He didn't bat an eye when I introduced some serious scope creep (so, having a 2-tone with chair rail, new light fixture, etc etc). He was SO careful about masking, putting plastic wrap on the stairs - such attention to detail is really appreciated. The room looks even better then fantastic.

We were quite disappointed to be unable to work with Patrick. He was wonderful when he was out for the estimate. He checked out the space and got the estimate to us that night. He provided us with numbers both for him doing all the work and for us doing some of the work beforehand. His price and timeline were excellent. There was some issue when it came to actually scheduling the work, but we eventually able to settle on a date. A couple of weeks later we received an email from Patrick stating that he could no longer perform jobs that require him to work on his knees and that he was cancelling our job. He did give us the number of one installer that he had heard about, but did not contact this person about the possibility of taking over hid jobs. We were looking forward to working with Patrick, but in the end it didn't work out. We would certainly consider him again in the future.

We were overjoyed with the results. Patrick was very helpful throughout the process, suggesting things we hadn't thought of. He did the work in the time he had estimated and the final price came in at the low end of what he had originally estimated. He was wonderful to work with and we love our new kitchen! I highly recommend his services. He truly is "happy to help!"

I would recommend him. The work was outstanding and he was professional.

We purchased a GE microwave at American TV and arranged for American TV to deliver and install it. The technician from American delivered the microwave but advised us that the space occupied by the old microwave would need to be enlarged for the new one to fit. This meant either raising the cabinet above the microwave or removing an area of tile below it. He wasn't prepared to do that. We called Patrick Doherty who promptly called and arranged to do the work the next day. He was able to install the new microwave in the existing space without any adjustments. He did have to drill new holes to support the microwave from the cabinet above. The new microwave fits and operates as designed. We will call Patrick for similar projects.

Very well. He was punctual, kept in touch about the projects, and completed on time.

He always communicates and let me know what time to expect him. He got right to work, very efficient, and *knows* what he is doing. He asked questions if any came up, and provided options when he could. I can't speak highly enough of him. I wish he had a twin brother or 3, because he is booked way far out. Worth the call to get him on your schedule! I would (and will) certainly be using him again!

Patrick Doherty from Happy To Help Home Improvement Company was extremely competent. He was very flexible. He was very personable. He was very punctual. Everything about him was terrific. I would use his services again in the future.

Patrick fixed a hole in my ceiling, including drywalling and painting the ceiling. You can't even tell the hole was there -- it looks great. He did the fix quickly and was very professional. He's also really easy to talk to. The job took a few trips because he had to wait for the drywall to set, but he clearly informed me about what he was going to do and regularly kept me posted with status updates. I got three different estimates for this job, and Patrick came in at the lowest. He was recommended to me by a friend and I would recommend him to anyone.

Overall satisfied with the service. Patrick came over in August to give me a quote on the project I wanted him to do. Two months later he was able to find time to perform the service. Was happy with the job he did on it, though it ended up costing me about 25% more than what I was originally quoted for. I wasn't very happy with that, but the job took him longer than he anticipated due to the somewhat complicated floor design, so I suppose that's reasonable. Really the only other complaint I have is his lack of availability, though when you're good and people know it, you're going to have more work than you have time. I asked him about another project down the road and he said he was booked solid for 3 months! Would use him again for services.

We had new counter tops and a new dishwasher installed along with a new granite sink and new faucet. The new counter top extended beyond that which we replaced and incorporated a new dishwasher and a small base cabinet. Patrick did the plumbing and electrical for the dishwasher (all new) and a bit of minor carpentry to extend the counter and add the cabinet. Patrick was prompt, provided a clear estimate, and offered us a number of options for the project to help save money. He came when agreed and completed the work in a timely fashion. The quality of the work was excellent, and he was able to come in under budget.

Very well, completed the job in one day working w/ my partner. Patrick is very easy to work with. He's kind, polite and very efficient. We will definately use his services again.

He was very good. His price was more than fair for what he did. He spent two hours. He got back to me. He was on time. He was polite. He knew what he was doing. I’m planning to get the bathroom done by him. I would use him in the future.
