I first contacted Jim in mid-June. I requested that he build a small table for me from one of his designs. He agreed to do that after a bit of initial resistance. His resistance he said was due to the effort and expense of shipping the table. I told him I would take care of that part of the transaction. Jim said he would start the table after he came back from a trip. I waited a few weeks, and then asked him in an email how he was progressing with the table. I received no reply. A few more weeks passed before I posted my first review on this site in which I expressed my disappointment. I had identified the table that I wanted built on Jim's website the previous year. I waited a year to contact Jim to place the order. Shortly after the review was posted, Jim contacted me about starting the table. I was agreeable with that. He said he would check to see if a had a certain species of wood in stock for the project and then commence. I reminded him of the dimensions I wanted for the table. Again, I sat back a few weeks. When I inquired about progress via email, he replied a few days later he would begin the table the beginning of the week. About the 10th of September, I asked Jim about progress on the table. I waited a week for a reply. When none came, I emailed Jim to tell him: I think the time has come to cease our efforts to bring this project to fruition. I dearly wanted the table, but it seemed clear, this wasn't going to happen. I'm sure Jim meant to begin the table, but it appears he was confronted by some kind of inertia that he was not able to overcome.
