Extreme Painting did a fantastic job! We recently had our 550 sq ft basement painted, including the ceiling. His team was prompt, efficient, and wonderfully precise with all the painting. They did a great job, great lines, and were very thorough. They cleaned up everything so well and Gerardo, the owner, stopped in a few times over the 1.5 days to check on the work. They are great -- if you need painting done, call Gerardo Ruiz and Extreme Painting! I will be hiring them again.

The work followed by 3 years the application of a paint that blistered and pulled away from the house. Gerardo of Extreme Painting explained that it was very likely that the paint applied 3 years ago was an inappropriate choice. This was a more expensive paint--Duration--that the previous painter had recommended but we had bad results. I think that Duration was a new paint at the time and painters then had high hopes. But it turns out that it is not an appropriate paint for an old house like ours. Gerardo and his team scraped and scraped--a lot of work. Because the extent of scraping was hard to predict, we agreed to pay at an hourly rate. In my mind, I was hoping for a final bill something in the $2,000 range so was pleased when the final tally was $1,700. Gerardo analyzed the problem correctly and his solution seems to be working. He and his crew are very professional, nonintrusive and very thorough at clean up. He adhered to the city's environmental requirements for old houses in Madison. I am happy that he knows paint well enough to guide me away from the Duration paint, that he was thorough and diligent in scraping and painting, and that he charged a fair price.
