Earth & Water Works provided us with a comprehensive site assessment about a week and a half before the work was completed. They provided us with lots of choices of native plant material, and they tailored selections based on the amount of sunlight we received on the north and south sides of the house. They emailed us an estimate, and gave us a heads up about plants we preferred that were available at the nursery. They went out of their way to accommodate us when we asked for some additional plant species not included in the first estimate. They arrived to install the rain garden, a little later than expected, and they interrupted my husband while he was working from home (but this was only a minor annoyance). Their temporary help seemed a little shaky, but permanent staff was knowledgeable and able to direct them. Work was completed in about a day and a half. The landscaping looks great, and we can't wait for the perennials to pop up next spring! Also, Earth & Water Works gave us a pretty great deal on perennials. They offer a maintenance contract, but we will probably just do the weeding ourselves. Overall, it was a learning experience to see all the possibilities available to us for planting native perennials and mitigating rainwater runoff. The only improvements I would suggest is that they accept credit cards: landscaping is pricey, and can be a shock to the checking account, and try to hire regular laborers to provide a more professional feel to the business. Other than that, Earth & Water Works is a great green business!
