On Monday, October 4, 2010, I noticed that our water heater had sprung a small leak and there was a continual drip onto our basement floor. This was not an emergency because it was in a work room and the small stream was draining into the floor drain. But, I wanted to take care of it BEFORE it got worse. I immideately went to Angie's List to search for plumbers in the area. My first two calls provided no results, because both plumbers were booked up for the morning. My third call was to Dave Jones Plumbing and I got an immediate response. They had a guy in the area and he showed up at my house within an hour. Leo did a quick inspection and confirmed what I had feared: my water heater needed to be replaced. I got a quote from the Dave Jones office for $1185 and setup an appointment for Thursday. Leo showed up promptly at the agreed time on Thursday. The total time for removing the old and installing the new water heater took about two hours to complete. Leo did a small plumbing favor for me (at no charge). He worked quietly, made no mess, and gave me some brief instructions before he left. The new water heater works great and it is much quieter too. I paid exactly the price that they quoted to me on Monday. Very happy with their price. Very happy with their work.

As part of a remodeling project, we decided to have our chimney removed. This also meant that we needed to replace our 23-year old chimney vented water heater with a power-vent model. We had been calling various area plumbers to get estimates on power-vented gas water heaters. We researched various brands and decided we wanted to find someone who could install a Bradford White model. Dave Jones quoted us $1100 (trip charge + 2.5 hour installation + water heater). Any additional time/materials would be more. This was all very clearly stated by the scheduling person. Two other companies quoted prices of $1400 and $2400 for the same exact model/warranty/installation. The plumber was AWESOME! He arrived on time, took a look around the basement, made a plan and off he went (he was really funny and personable as well!). We live in a very old house with skinny and steep basement stairs and my husband had to help carry the new water heater downstairs and bring the old one up. Not a problem though. He drilled the vent outside, took out the old water heater and installed the new one in under 2 hours. When all was finished, he showed us how it worked and signed off on the energy rebate forms (we had pre-printed them). We had to pay extra for the PVC pipe/installation to vent the water heater. We paid him, received a copy of the invoice and off he went. Hot water works great. A great experience and we will certainly call Dave Jones Plumbing for any other plumbing issues.

They are very responsive and pretty easy to get in touch with and schedule. The repair might have been simple, but whoever installed my old faucet had stripped the bolts and the plumber realized he couldn't get it apart without destroying it. So he offered to order a new faucet. Looking back, I wish he would have offered me the chance to buy the faucet myself and just have them install it. I didn't even think about it, but I consider it a lesson learned. It took almost 2 weeks for the new, (builder grade) faucet to arrive, then more time to schedule someone, who was a different plumber from their company, to come out and install it. All the while, I had a badly leaking faucet. The access to the shower plumbing wasn't very good, so it took him forever to get it in, which is not necessarily the plumber's fault. Still, in the end I thought $600 (labor and materials--a very simple shower faucet) was pretty pricey. However, I also bought a new furnace from these guys, and I got an excellent deal on a tax-credit eligible, energy-efficient furnace (I did some research online and found their price was very fair--$2400 including furnace, installation, and disposal of old unit). They scheduled the installation right away and were very good about answering questions. I would definitely recommend them for HVAC issues.

They did a good job but they were pricey. The representative tried to spend a lot of time repairing the dripless faucet first when I asked for the replacement of it. He ended up replacing it but he billed for the repair as well as the replacement of the dripless faucet. I felt it was unfair.

Job completed immediately and the Service Plumber had the required replacement with him.

They were very helpful in figuring out where we could place it optimally for my purposes. I would hire them again.

I feel comfortable with them coming into my home. They always take their shoes off at the door. They are always very prompt about coming out to the home i have never had any problem getting anything scheduled. Their work is great and i would highly recommend them.

We have used them multiple times for miscellaneous plumbing jobs. They are very flexible in their scheduling and the technicians that come out are always very courteous and friendly. I would recommend them.

The drain cleaning turned out fine we have never had any problems with their work. We have had them come back multiple times and we are always impressed with their service. I would highly recommend them.

Once a proposal is accepted, it would be a 2-3 day turnaround to schedule installation. 2 installers, one to 1 days total work. Company has been in business since the 1970's with high customer satisfaction reviews and accolades from the mayor of Madison and Monona. (Our experience was not as good as this statement indicates). We included a York dealer in addition to Bryant, Carrier and Trane dealers in our 6 bids because we wanted a variety of options. Our research indicated issues with York systems, although we have no first or second-hand experience to support this. However, the salesmanship in this instance helped us decide to move in a different direction.

I believe the company was very informative. They made everything clear and spent a lot of time explaining the particulars of the problem that existed. I found them to be completely honest in the service.
