Certi-Dry

We have had such a wonderful experience with Certi-Dry. They were responsive, professional, great communication, and - above all else - patient with us as we figured out what was going on with insurance. We used Certi-Dry both for mitigation of flood damage and rebuild of our finished basement. The sub-contractors that they hired for dry wall, flooring, painting, and electrical were also phenomenal and I appreciated the input of the project managers assigned to our jobs. Great company - would suggest them to anyone and would happily use them again (though really really hoping we never have to!).

Very well, professional employees who care about the work they are doing. Hated that the backup happened but Certi-dry come out the same day and got to work first thing the next morning (we called them at 4:30pm) Would recommend them as you won't have to call around and find other contractors as they have people to complete all the work you will need.

We had a major sewer back up in a commercial building. I am very pleased with the service we received. They arrived in less than one hour, were fast acting and extremely professional. They certainly went the extra step to make sure things were done to our satisfaction and we could open again the next day to the public. Great company.

Certi-dry responded quite quickly to my initial call (on a Saturday!) sending someone out that same day to set up fans and dehumidifiers, and then returning three more times over the next few days to check on progress, verify the extent of the damage, and pass along information and expertise re: further work and repairs. Everyone involved was friendly, responsive, and professional, and I would call them again for similar situations!

Sure, it looked as if we had a giant octopus in our house (they used a drying machine that directed air through nozzles into holes in the walls and ceiling) but it was very effective. Once everything was dry, they tested it again with their special cameras/sensors, and then patched the drywall/ceiling and repainted. You honestly can't even tell anything ever happened. They laid paper and plastic down during the job, and wore booties--very important to me, as we have small kids and a dog. They were extremely nice, friendly and professional--also very important, as my husband works from home and youngest is only in preschool, so around much of the day. We ended up needing an electrician and plumber, and they made a recommendation and managed that so we didn't have to. The people they selected were equally professional and helpful. They were very busy, given the unusually cold winter and many busted pipes, but the communication was always clear and consistent, which is important. Our insurance company was very familiar with Certi-Dry and accepted their estimate without needing an onsite inspection, because of their history and reputation. That made us feel quite comfortable. I hope I never have to use them again, but would absolutely recommend them without hesitation to anyone else.

Gerry Pfeifer came out within about an hour after my call to look at the water issues, & was friendly and detailed in his assessment. He uncovered what appeared to be mold from previous water damage, identified what needed to be dried out, quoted a price, & helped assess the possible cause. A couple hours later Certi-Dry sent technicians over. They kept updating us on their progress into the evening, taking pictures throughout, & uncovered what looked like a crack or large chunk missing from the uppermost portion of the poured foundation. The work took more time than expected because there were quite a few layers of drywall & insulation along the basement walls. But Gerry gave us some discounts, & despite the extra work, the price was only about $70.00 over the estimate. We were pleased with how professional, friendly & efficient everyone involved was throughout. I would definitely recommend Certi-Dry to anyone with water damage problems in need of immediate assistance. They were thorough in their work, & went out of their way to offer tips & references for how to go about sealing up our basement. Thanks for a job well done!

We contacted after our basement flooded. I only used this company because of rating on Angie's list. They did come out the first night, set up extraction,did this for about 2 hours (on emergeny time) before they figured out the waterwas still coming in and called it a night. The next day they came out, over an hour later than they said they would be there, advised we needed a hole punched in our basement to put a sump crock. They used our pumps , hoses, shovel, brooms, squeegy. It seemed they did not have equiptment of their own. They used a kiddie pool and a metal ash bucket (both destroyed) because they were not supplied.They advised us to call when we noticed the water was receeding and not coming in anylonger. We called and advised the water was not coming in any longer, the basement was starting to smell. It took another day for anyone to come out. During that time my family rented a dumpster, ripped the carpet out of the basement ourselves. When they came over they started taking down 2 foot of drywall. My daughter and myself helped carry the majority of this out of the house to the dumpster. We were helping to keep costs down because we ould not get a straight answer how much this was costing us. After the demo was done they brought in fans and dehumidifiers to dry everything out. this took 3 days, but they were not able to come out that Friday so the fans and de humidifier stayed on the entire weekend. The next step was clean floor and spray some anti fungal around. Then they kept the fans and dehumidifiey on another 3 days. The daily cost of each fan was never discussed with us, nor the proce of each dehumidifier. Long story short, get everything in writing, we feel weere taken advsntage of in a emergent situation. I would not recommend this company to anyone, ever

We called Certi-Dry when we found mold in the rafters near a kitchen fan exhaust pipe that had become disconnected from the exterior vent. They had a sales rep at our house within a week ( I didn't feel it was urgent when they asked). They helped us evaluate the severity and discussed options for treatment. Their first priority was ensuring that the original cause of the mold had been identified and addressed. (I appreciated this because it seemed they could have ignored the cause and simply ended up being called back every couple of years to repeat the same treatment.) The guy that came out (sorry, can't remember his name) was extremely helpful and low pressure. He helped me understand the various options for treatment and worked through all the parts that I could do myself to reduce the cost. We decided on a simple treatment to kill the mold, but leave the cosmetic stains behind given that the location would not be visible under normal circumstances. He was very good at looking at the work through the homeowners perspective and not trying to up-sell to more expensive treatments where it didn't make sense, though he did make certain I understood what more could be done if desired. He brought a moisture meter and thermal imager or similar tool that could see through the wood structures to look for additional areas of dampness - cool tools, and it gave me some confidence that the problem wasn't worse than I thought. The work was performed as scheduled a few days later by a very polite (though not very talkative) young man. It took about an hour while he scrubbed the area with brushes and some industrial strength anti-mold chemicals and cleaned up very well afterward. A day or two after the work was done, the sales rep came back to ask if I was satisfied and ensure I felt the price was fair for the work done - a very nice touch I rarely see. Clearly the company gives him the autonomy to make adjustments as he deems appropriate (or he's an owner, not sure). I will be calling them first the next time we have problems with mold or moisture. From top to bottom, an excellent experience!

The tenants in one of our properties reported standing water of a few inches. We called to get an estimate in the early afternoon and a very helpful receptionist told us that they would get back to us that same afternoon. Dave from Certi-Dry called back in only couple of hours, ready to come over to give an estimate and/or extract the water. However, in the meantime, the co-owner and I had just decided we should go see the standing water for ourselves, and Dave was very accomodating, saying to call back if we still wanted the work done, in which case they would put us back on their list . As it turned out, there was no standing water, just a couple of wet spots and we didn't need the work done. Everyone we talked to was very professional, the quick response was amazing. If we do ever have a problem with flooding, they will be the first on our list to call.

The representative was excellent and helped us determine the extent of the water damage and ways we could dry out the carpet and pad ourselves.

I discovered water in the basement at 6:30 PM on a Monday night. I called Gerry at 7:00, he had someone at the house with a truck mount vacuum system by 8:00. By 9:00 he had 90% of the water vacuumed out of the carpet. The next day two people where there to remove the carpet and pad, they set up two large dehumidifiers and 7 fans. On Thursday that same week the area was dry. They are now going to put together an estimate for the restoration. I believe the speed at which they were able to respond saved us further damage and we have zero mold. As of now I have not received a bill so I do not know the cost. I feel confident it will be fair. I would hire them again in a minute.

I had a little issue in my basement of my newly purchased home. On Tuesday of the that week, I noticed some moisture in my carpeting in my basement. I went outside and noticed my dog knocked off my downspout...rookie mistake as this is my first home. I called around and finally talked to Certi-Dry. Gerry came out in very inclement weather and was happy to show me where water was coming in and gave me some tips I myself can do to mitigate the problem. I ended up having to take the molding off and pull my carpeting back and cut out my pad but I was able to quickly dry everything out. Gerry gave me a quote for some services if it didn't dry out further and even gave me a followup call the next week to make sure I understood everything and to see if I was able to dry everything out. If or when this happens again and I need a professional, Certi-Dry will be my first call.

Sewage was overflowing into the walls because the toilet had a seal malfunction. They removed the toilet (and everything in the bathroom including sink), stripped the vinyl floor, scrubbed the floorboards, cut out the dry wall in the basement where sewage was also present, and scrubbed everything behind the walls clean. They dried the wood for 3 days with huge machines, then they recommended someone to come back and put everything together. The technician running the operation was very friendly and I would highly recommend the company.

I called during lunch and Mr. Rowe was available to evaluate water damage from a leaking dishwasher at 4:00 pm on the same day. He arrived promptly and performed a thorough inspection. As the dishwasher was still installed, he also offered to return when the appliance repair person was available, which ended up being later in the evening than expected. He was pleasant, patient, and helpful. Though we did not end up requiring remediation, it was a very positive experience.

My experience was excellent. the principal (john Rowe) met me at a convenient time, and did a careful inspection of the area in question. While there was evidence of water damage, and presumed mold, the advice was that the problem seemed minor, and should be controlled by the measures we had already taken to dry the basement. I was advised to keep examining the area, and get back to Certi-Dry if I thought that there was a problem persisting or getting worse. The visit felt entirely professional and helpful. I would not hesitate to further consult them if problems do occur.
