I called at 8:00 am. Job was finished by 9:45. I have used Butler Plumbing numerous times and they are quick, professional, courteous and competitively priced. They are my "go-to" plumbing service.

I was told by a handyman that I needed a new water softener. So I called Butler because they had come before. Initially the guy who came was seemingly very competent. He said the water softener was okay, but I determined that it was not really working. He had not really tested it. I think he assumed it was working -- you know, the main machine was working. So then I had to call them again. They came and said a tube inside the water tub was clogged. This was a different guy than the first guy. They said they would replace it the next week. I did not hear from them for two weeks so I called them and they said they would take care of that. So more time went by then he came and replaced it after I prodded them a few more times. Then I discovered the water softener was not plugged in so the timer or anything would be working. I think he just forgot to restart it. When I called them to tell them they forgot, the woman I spoke with tried to make it seem like it was my fault that something was not plugged in. She kept questioning me about what happened. They supposedly had the records of all the visits. It is a really bad receptionist. Then she sent a guy, I think it was the owner, and he plugged it in. The thing was he said he was going to come that day and then he didn't come. I called right before they closed and he sounded like he had been sleeping. So he came and plugged it in. But it is, like, something that should have been one visit was four visits. So they sent me a bill for $400. They did not charge me for the plugging in thing. They should have come and the guy should have tested it and the guy should have told me the part was not working. Then he should have gone and gotten a replacement part. It should have been one day. There have been a lot of complaints about them. I used them before for a leaky faucet and when the guy left it was still leaking. He went off to get a part and was gone for hours. That's a bad experience. They had the expertise to do it but they obviously wanted to stretch it out to as many visits as they could. That was dishonest, I think.

They were very responsive. They arrived on time did the job quickly. We really liked the worker. He explained everything well and cleaned the area when he finished.

They came on time, were prepared and finished the scheduled job quickly. Incidentally, we had an UNRELATED plumbing emergency in the early morning hours the next day and called them to respond to this as well. Their answering service was quick and professional, and we got a call back promptly which tried to help us trouble shoot potential issues. It turned out it was related to a major water main break- and Butler plumbings quick response minimized damage to our home. Thank you!

They are the best plumbing co. I have dealt with. Their people are very professional, friendly and courteous. Their prices are not outrageous.

We have used them many times and have always been satisfied. They arrive promptly and are very professional. I'm not sure if they are overpriced or if plumbers are just that expensive. I will continue to use them until I hear otherwise.

Not good. I was told that because I didn't buy the fixture from them(Butler), it would probably break again. Later, when it started leaking again, my son looked at it and said that there were no washers. He went to Menards and bought the necessary washers and installed them. No more leaks.

Gave me an estimate and told me about energy efficient rebate but in the end I could only use one size for my water heater so the rebate didn't apply. Otherwise they were neat in cleaning up and very efficient. Only comment is that I wished they would take a credit card for payment.

They were very good. It was a long time ago, so I don't remember how much it cost.

As I said before, they have always done what we asked in a prompt, professional manner.

I had a leak, leaking into my basement, the plumber not only failed to fix the leak or even identify where it was coming from but proceeded to fix a "problem" that didn't even exist, I called Butler the next day and told them the problem was not resolved, ...they waited 2 months and sent me a bill for $207.11 ...I have to dispute this because I myself had to rip out a wall, call Pertzborn Plumbing to come fix the pipe and then I had to replace/paint the wall myself ...so really Butler did nothing besides fix a non-existent problem I didn't even ask them to fix!

The experience turned out pretty well. I would give a three star rating. Their pricing was fair and they were prompt.

I have been using them for years. They are just really good so I use them for everything. They are a family owned business, they are really reliable, they honor their estimates, and they are very trustworthy. I am happy to have them in the house, even when I am not here. They come back if there are every any problems.

The water heater had started leaking and we decided to replace it before a disaster. We checked Angie's List for some providers and after talking to Butler decided to go with them. They were friendly and knowledgeable and we liked the fact that they were a long-standing family owned local business. They responded to our questions promptly and on the day of the water heater replacement we couldn't even tell they had been there other than the fact that the water heater was new. Their cleanup and professionalism was excellent.

I went to several small locally-owned pumbing shops for estimates on installing a new toilet. Butler seemed to have the most professional and helpful attitude, although their estimate was a bit higher. I had researched the product I wanted on Consumer Reports, but didn't say that when I went into to any of the shops. I wanted to hear what they would say, and whether they would try to sell me something more expensive:). The young woman at Butler showed me the exact model I had already selected, and said they could do it the next day. I chose Butler, and I'm glad I did. The plumber arrived on time, did a very nice neat job, and was finished in a reasonable amount of time. Maybe someone else could have done it cheaper, but I don't mind paying for a job done right. I will use this company again.

Everything went fine with one glitch. The plumber snaked the drain several times to try and clear the lime buildup. He replaced the tank plug and tried to get the toilet to work better than it had. I did feel this was a bit useless as I had already decided to replace the toilet and had told the plumber this. Something got giggled loose and that evening I noticed a bad drip in the basement under the toilet. Unfortunately this was above an area that had a lot of computer electronics like my modem and printer. I was able to turn off the water and empty the tank which stopped the leak and nothing was damaged. It was lucky that I noticed the leak. I left a message the plumber and they called first thing in the morning and offered to have someone come out. I decided to wait a day until the new toilet came as the leak was under control. I was given several choices for water efficient toilets. We discussed other options and I was able to do some research on the internet. I wasn't looking for a specific style but wanted a clean look. I feft comfortable with my choice which was somewhat dictated by what was available as I wanted the toilet that same week. The toilet was installed within two days and all went very well with the replacement. I love the toilet. It works so much better than the old one and it saves water. I'm very happy with the service.

The guy who came out talked me out of 2 major items that I thought I needed from an opinion of a prior plumber. I liked that!

I was extremely satisfied with their work, professionalism and demeanor of all employees involved. They have done work for me previously and it is always consistently high quality. They offered great suggestions and worked with my ideas to come up with excellent solutions. They are the only plumbing company I use. We had completely torn the bathroom, including the shower, down to the studs. They initially changed the pipes to accommodate the new fixtures, then later returned to complete installation of the fixtures once shower, walls and floor were rebuilt. Everything turned out perfectly.

Job went very well overall. Old heater was very difficult to get out of basement (VERY HEAVY) so it took a bit longer than they had anticipated. As a result, they were a bit over their original bid price, but it seemed reasonable. Very courteous and professional. Left things very clean when they left despite water that leaked out of old heater.

They are based near me. They came right away when there was leak one time. They very honest, quick and know what they are doing.

Told me a range of prices, I selected one for $400 that would eat ribs, final bill with all installation and extras was just over $1,200. I was at work, my wife did not think to question them (they are nice old men who have office on corner down block from our house). We'll never use them again, just really unexpected an expensive.

Excellent! They replaced an old electric water heater with a new RUUD power-vent gas water heater. They knew what they were doing! They wired in the electric part so as not to use up a near-by outlet and did an excellent job connecting to the gas line. Professional all around. Very helpful explaining the heater details before purchase. Informed me about Wisconsin Focus-on-Energy discount.

He did the work, it passed the city inspector. But was a lot more than I expected for the time he was here (less than forty-five minutes).

The guy that came to my house was very professional. He just asked me where the areas were and I showed him, explained what I wanted, and he did the work. He was done doing both jobs within a two hour period.

I was very pleased with the same day call. They really lived up to their great reputation.
