Braun Painting

Braun Painting painted our home 4 years ago under previous owners and the beautiful paint was part of the reason why we purchased the home. This year we started to see some issues with paint peeling off our walls. Mike was very responsive and came out to assess the issues himself. Ultimately, the cause of the peeling paint is due to the drywall (nothing due to the painting done by Braun) and he gave us some great advice on how we can repair it and offered a fairly priced option if we wanted to hire Braun to do the repairs.

The whole team was fantastic. Michael won my wife's confidence by helping to think through color and flow options. Then he selected a team of his employees that would be a good fit for us. We had some pretty tight timelines in which to get work done before moving into our new home, and they executed on the timelines we were left with given all other activities going on. Lastly, they showed the utmost respect for me, my family and our new home. Tremendous team effort. I would recommend them to everyone for any size project.

I wish I could give this business a better rating, because I think the owner seems like a nice guy. But I am very disappointed in the service his company provided. I hired him to paint a condo which my daughter had just purchased. There was a month between the closing and when she would move in, and they did the painting and were done in time for the movers. The painting itself seems to have been done well. However, I had talked with the owner specifically about painting the front and back doors, and thus was not done. I called the owner to discuss this, and it became clear that he had not come to the job site to inspect the finished product at the end of the job. He did return personally and paint the doors on a Friday, but he removed the weatherstripping to let them dry and said he'd return on Monday to replace it - and when I came back to visit three weeks later he still hadn't come back. I called him and his basic response was "oops, sorry". I wonder how much my daughter's AC bill went up to pay for the cold air leaking out for three weeks. And finally, he agreed in May to powerwash and stain the deck on the house, we agreed to a price - and as of mid-August the work was still not done! I just called him and said forget it - I'll hire someone else next spring. I know it was rainy in June, but it's now August. Anyway, if you have the time and inclination to keep calling him, the painting was good - but the service leaves a lot to be desired.

Responsive on providing a quote. Spent significant time discussing our staining needs which was very appreciated. Will check them out again next time our house needs stain.

I submitted my contact request through Angie's List and heard quickly from Jocelyn to schedule an estimate. Mike came to do the estimate and was helpful and knowledgable. Given my deck is surrounded by peonies, I expressed my concern that the plants be protected during the work and asked that the work get done before the plants got large. Mike listened to my concerns. The work was done by Erik. He kept me informed on when the steps of the job would be done, and the work was done professionally. The job was scheduled and completed quickly and my plants came through without any problem. I will absolutely use them again.

I think I may have found the person who did the work on Angie’s List. The experience was very good. It was excellent. They gave me an estimate and they did what they said they would do properly, and I was happy with the work. It was a small job on the exterior of my house, and I was glad that they were able to do it. It was a small area and I was glad they were able to do it quickly. I don’t know what is the fair price. To me it is more the fact that they get it done on time and they get it done well, and the price is less important.

He's wonderful. I paid $900 for the last service. He's trustworthy, honest, comes on time. He has good, clean workers that work with him if he isn't there and he cleans up everything. If the paint doesn't turn out the color I want, he redoes it. He's just a wonderful person.

His painting skills were very artistic, he is a perfectionist: his cuts were perfect, he cleaned up after himself, and put the furniture back in place. I highly recommend Braun Painting.

The estimate was fair and clearly written. Mike Braun, the owner and estimator, spent as much time as we needed to explain the process his company would do. We had several messages from Jocelyn when the weather was bad and the project had to be delayed. The paint crew was punctual and cleaned up well each day. They were friendly, polite and hard workers who cared about their service.

I first met Mike Braun in early June to get a quote to power wash and stain the deck and pergola and a raised garden bed off the back of my house. The previous owner had both installed two summers ago but they had not yet been treated. Mike and Jocelyn (in the office and with whom I communicated most via email) were really good to deal with. They provided me an excellent quote that was 20-30% lower than the others. However, with that lower price came some frustration. The gentleman who was assigned to my project took a very long time to contact me to schedule the project. I was hoping to have the project finished by July 11th when I was having some patio furniture delivered from the house my parents were moving out of. Mike knew this is what I wanted but I do not think this was communicated to the person assigned to my project. I contacted Jocelyn to inquire why I hadn't heard from the project manager to get it scheduled. She pinged him, and then he contacted me. Yes, it rained a lot in June. Yes, I understood that they were behind. But, when I met with Mike, he told me that upon me hiring his company my project could be done within 2-3 weeks, which would have easily had it done by July 11th. Long story short, the power washing occurred on August 1. Due to more rain, the staining began on August 7. Then I noticed that the raised garden bed had not been stained to match, so I called the project manager back to finish that part. He showed up the next day to finish it. The reason I will probably use Braun Painting again, despite the delays and the miscommunication, is because the price was very good. Jocelyn in the office was good to work with. Mike was a pleasure to meet. The technician (a young woman) who actually did the staining was meticulous, cleaned up after herself, and did not slop stain all over the siding on my house. My deck required a second power washing due to some fat/grease residue. I fully expected to be billed more for the second power washing, but when the bill came it was for the original $950.

I realized very quickly that I did not have the time or energy to attack a Project like this and I did not want to delay another Season looking at in the in the shape it was in. I looked at Angie's List for a Painter and read the reviews and liked what I saw. Everybody was great to work with. They were able to get an Estimate to me within of a few days of calling. The were able to get at my project within a couple of weeks. They sent out a Team of people who were very professional and courteous and completed the job in a couple of days. I am so happy to have that project done and it looks Great! One of my neighbors have contacted them for some Interior work and also a Friend has contacted them to do their Deck. We are working with them to get some Interior Painting done with in the next couple of Months. Good work, Good price, Good people, very Happy Customer!

Mike came recommended from a friend and had positive reviews on Angie's List. He assured me that his crew was on his payroll as true employees and he provided an acceptable COI when requested. I met the crew on the first day and was surprised to learn that a member of the crew had just been hired and it was his first day. I stayed out of the way of the crew, but stopped by the property each night to take a look at the progress. Throughout the entire week, the property was left messy. Floors weren't covered, paint brushes had been washed in bathroom sinks/showers and therefore there was paint splatter all over the counters and mirrors (even though we had a utility sink in the basement). There was a large stain on the carpet (I didn't worry about this much because I was getting the carpet replaced) which speaks to the lack of cleanliness of the crew. Overall I was disappointed with the quality of this work. Wall/Ceiling lines were uneven, there was overpaint on outlets, ceiling light fixtures, ceiling fans and wood baseboards, and there was paint splatter on the wood floors, kitchen countertops, and in the bathrooms. The work was sloppy. I met with Mike at the end of the project to discuss some touch-ups that I felt were necessary. Mike thought that the crew had done a "darn good job" yet I was not pleased. Mike was good to his word and visited the property two different days to complete the touchups that I requested. Yet even after seeing his touchups, I was not completely satisfied. I quickly realized that his standards were different than mine, so I let it go. I really did enjoy working with Mike, but he is rarely at the job-site and therefore you rely on the crew. The crew changed almost daily and even included someone who was brand new. If I could do it again, I would have chosen a different painting company. I would prefer a company that has standards higher than mine, paints clean walls with clean lines and one that tidies up the property at the end of the job so I don't need to spend days scrubbing floors, tile, sinks and toilets. I like Mike but I would not use Braun Painting again nor would I recommend this company.

Getting a quote from them was very easy and I felt it was reasonable. They showed up when they said they would and got the job done quickly. The owner came as well to make sure everything went well. The paint job looked great and painter was very personable.

The job went great. Mike came in, was very professional and knew what needed to be done. Our house was owned previously by heavy smokers, so the walls and ceilings needed to be primed and painted. Mike provided a great quote so we went with him. The crews worked on nights and weekends to meet the deadline of the job. We are extremely pleased with the work that was performed. When we get ready to paint the exterior of our house, Mike will be the only one we call. The crews that were there were very professional and always cleaned up after themselves. They took time to ensure that none of the woodworking was destroyed and even removed the heat and air return vents (Many times you find painters that do not take that step). The work was done on time and we greatly appreciated it.

He did my house last year and it was a wonderful job.

The project grew as he kept working and I kept thinking of things I wanted him to do. He was very accommodating and worked with me. He still managed to stay within the timeline he quoted even as I kept adding to the project. I was very pleased with the work.

I talked directly with the owner of Braun Painting to describe the needed exterior painting of our house. He said he was familiar with our immediate neighborhood and knew where our house was because he had lived around the corner. We agreed on a time for him to come inspect the house & provide an estimate. He never showed up. I thought he would subsequently phone or stop by to explain why, but I never heard from him.
