The technician came out and gave us over an $800 estimate to move our air conditioner. I called several other companies and this was double to triple what the other companies quoted. The technician suggested that we should just get a new air conditioner for $4000 (also double of what other companies charge) since our air conditioner was getting older. We definitely felt that we were being up-sold into replacing our air conditioner, which was working just fine and that they were extremely high in price.

We bought a new house. I wanted the gas lines for the stove and the furnace inspected. While the estimator was here, he talked me into getting the new water softener I needed from them as well. They also up sold me from just the furnace inspection to their package deal that included inspection of the a/c, electrical and plumbing systems as well, along with discounts on work and 'priority service'. All and all I think they did good work. With the exception of the estimator guy not calling me back when he said he would, and a bizarre message on the answering machine of my old house house (at 7:20 am they called and said they needed a call back before they could dispatch the technicians). This was after I had confirmed the work the day before and gave them a cell number. They did show up on time.

Poorly. Although the initial visit was quick, it took four visits and two weeks to restore heat to our home. Fortunately, it was early November and we were able to get by with a space heater at night. What it boiled down to in the end was a poor repair person, who didn't figure out the part we needed until a week after his first visit. It wasn't until his supervisor came along that they figured out what part to order, and then another week went by before they made it back for installation. Most annoying was the fact that our initial written estimate was for around $350, but the final bill came for $750 with absolutely no warning. We were told it was because of the need for multiple visits, which were obviously unnecessary. I was able to talk them out of $150, but had to pay the rest. I would have considered purchasing a new furnace had I been alerted to the cost of the work from the beginning.
