I have only used movers 1 other time, so wasn't aware I needed to schedule movers more than a week in advance. I had called just about every other moving business in Madison before finding Al's, who said my move date would be no problem. Next time, Al's will be the very first I call. Al was very kind and professional to deal with. He called me the night before my move to let me know another move was running long and they would have to be a couple hours late for my move. This was no problem at all for me, however. They called ahead and arrived right around the revised time Al gave me. These three young men were extremely courteous, treated my possessions like gold, carefully wrapping anything that could possibly incur any damage during the move, and worked very quickly. They were top-notch and I'd recommend them to anyone. I will certainly be using Al's for my next move.

We had tried and failed to move my oversized sofa up the three flights of stairs to our new apartment. It just wouldn't fit. It was the busiest moving weekend in Madison, and it seemed unlikely that we'd be able to find movers to help us. Al was able to fit me in on a same-day move and took my word for it when I told him how much they'd be moving. He gave me an extremely accurate estimate and worked around my schedule. I gave them my keys and they moved everything, then called me when they were done. Al reported that a couple of boxes had broken, but he'd put the contents in a few boxes they'd had lying around. A bottle of soy sauce also opened and spilled all over him. The thing is, Al didn't charge me a cent for the replacement boxes or the soy sauce mess! It would've been well within his rights to at least make me pay for the extra boxes, but it was like he didn't even consider it. They didn't tack on any additional charges, in fact, and as I said, the estimate was extremely accurate. Al and the other employees were extremely professional and courteous, and I will definitely be hiring them for our next move. It's very clear that Al cares about his customers and his business, and I was pleased to support a local business with such high quality service. Thanks Al!

This was the best moving experience we've ever had. Al runs a tight ship. He promptly responds to calls, is extremely organized, and impressively competent. He thought of everything, including details that we had overlooked. The young men who did the move were polite, efficient, hard working, and very careful with all our property. They laid down runners so that there were no marks on floors or walls, wrapped sofa, bed - everything you'd want so that your stuff isn't damaged by the move. We've used big box moving firms before, but none of them can hold a candle to Al and his crew, Chris, Big Anthony, and Little Anthony. In addition, the price was right. Beautiful manners, fantastic service, impeccable business ethic. Thank you, Al. Highly recommended.

It went very well. ALS and his movers were on time, very efficient and careful with my things. They were also very friendly and respectful.

All good. If there was anything to complain about, it was that Al estimated 3 hours and it actually took 4. In retrospect, it makes sense, because we had so many locations AND it was a cold, snowy Sunday.

They were around 15 minutes late, but that was fine. Initially, they looked professional and their rate were reasonable, but they took lot of time to wrap and pack more than expected. After, they moved everything in I realized they broke my new dresser. They also made holes in sofa. I contacted them, but they didn’t respond.

Al's Moving Service provided a poor quality service for my move. Spoke with Al, confirmed the service of 3 people with a moving truck. He called 6/27 and reneged on the truck availability. Because of the limited timetable, I chose to rent a truck and still use his service. Instead of 3 people, Al showed up himself with another individual. He arrived (relatively) on-time and started to move the objects into my rental truck. The second mover was fairly slow, and did not take any initiative to speed up the process. After 45 minutes, he took a break, checked his phone and rest for some time. The move started fairly well, until about 1 hour has passed. Al started to feel sick and the whole moving process grind to a halt. He stopped for a fairly long period of time to rest; and when he was moving the objects in the apartment, it was an incredibly slow process. This whole moving process ended up taking approximately 4 hours. The problem is that other movers have completed the task between 1.5 - 2 hours (without my help). I had to pay a substantial fee for a service barely rendered, while having the "luxury" of actually doing it myself. This whole process ended up costing me additional cost, in money and time; and filled with multiple excuses from Al and his crew. In summation, Al's Moving Service is very unprofessional, slow, unreliable, and took little care of your belongings. There is no way I will recommend his service to any one else.

Albert and his crew were timely, polite and careful with our belongings. They moved our two pod containers to our apartment in less than two hours.

We originally scheduled a moving service with Wee-Haul on Sat, but they did not show up and we couldn't reach them through phone calls. So we called around and Al's Moving service was the only one able to move us that weekend. Al, the owner, was very professional but the 2 crews he brought over with seem to have little to no experience with moving as they need constant instructions from Al or else they didn't know what to do. They used tons of furniture pads (a total of 8-10) and the wrapping can be done better. Al himself worked very hard and was very professional in terms of attitude and directions to the other 2 crews. One of the crew member had a hang over, and the other one worked extremely slowly. Despite all these shortcomings, they were very careful with the furniture though (the MOST IMPORTANT part!). The moving took 5 hours, which seemed quite slow. A typical 2-bd apt moving is about 2-3 hours.
