Adam's Handyman & Remodeling Service

Adam and Pat are AWESOME!!!!!!!!! My husband and I are first-time home owners, so we are still learning about how everything works in our home. We hired Adam and Pat to finish our basement and half-bathroom in the basement, completing drywall for the walls and ceiling, heating and air conditioning, and electrical concerns. They did a fantastic job! When it came time to make decisions about certain parts of the project, Adam would present us with several different options, so we could decide which way we wanted to go. He never told us what to do, but would offer his opinion as to what he thought would be the best way to go. He also tried his best to provide us with lower-cost options, and ways that we could save money on different products. Adam also noticed several other things going wrong in our house, that could have been potentially dangerous or caused our house to start on fire, and he was able to quickly fix them for us. He even stayed late one evening to help us with a plumbing issue, just out of the goodness of his heart. Adam and Pat are great guys, and really thoughtful and helpful. We were so glad that we found them! We'll definitely use them again when we have future needs!!

This was the smallest job we've had Adam do; we've hired him for larger projects that have included a bathroom remodel and a re-tiling job. He is our go-to guy because his work is exacting and excellent. This job was clearly a "handyman" quickie. I appreciate that, despite his hectic schedule, he fit us in. And of course everything is back to its original state. Adam has all the handyman skills you'd expect and much more. It's amazing all that he can do, we feel very fortunate to have found him.

Have relied on Adam for multiple projects over the last couple of years with the latest project being a bathroom remodel. The primary components of the job were tiling, flooring and painting. Also did some other miscellaneous work around the house. Adam's biggest strength in my opinion is to listening to concerns and help with planning the scope of work. I'm a practical guy who wants quality functional work and that was what was delivered. Would also add that I have contacted Adam on other projects and he didn't just take the work and has at times said that he probably wasn't the best person for the job while still providing advice. Showed up when he said he would and completed the work when he said he would. Quality job all around.

This project was the third we've had Adam do. As with the previous projects, the quality of work is the best. He is also a pleasure to work with--he keeps me informed, lets me hover, cleans the area each night, makes good suggestions when issues invariably arise, and works extremely hard to achieve perfect results. Highly recommend.

I just purchased a house that needed TLC. Adam and Pat are WONDERFUL. They have gone over and beyond. I had old basement windows that were cracked and not sealed around the frames. Adam and Pat knew what they needed and installed (7) glass blocked windows They looked around the store and figured out how they could make the windows work and not cost me a lot of money. The window wells were dug but not deep enough and the metal piece was not attached to the house. They dug them deeper, filled with rock, and attached the metal piece. The corners of my siding were lose or had fallen off. Adam went and found matching siding corners and checked all the corner pieces on a two story house to make sure they were all attached. He verified I had the correct smoke alarms and that I had enough for all the rooms per code. They really look out for their customers and do GREAT quality of work. I kept adding to my list and they just said "okay" and it was done. They cleaned up where they work and even took out and brought in my trash cans for me. I could go on and on about Adam and Pat and their work. I will recommend them to anyone that is asking for a handyman. It is hard to find honest, hardworking, and great customer service.

Great. Didn't take as long as expected. Great price. Replaced stair nails with screws and added bracing in back. Nice guys.

It went great! I wanted it done before hosting a party at my house. The deadline was met and the bar looks perfect. Couldn't have asked for a better result.

We really value Adam. However, he is so much in demand now that it is increasingly difficult to book his time -- which is a good thing for a fellow who is so very talented. I see there are complaints about not being able to reach him. Without a full office staff, he does the best he can responding to requests for estimates and finding time to do the work. If he can find time to help you, you will be very pleased with his work.

Adam and his personel did a great job for us. His knowlege of deck construction was valuable, as our deck needed reinforcing, in addition to resurfacing. He kept us informed daily of his thoughts about the structure and how his work was going. Also, he worked very well with another contractor, who we used for the railing, and with the materials supplier.

I contacted them twice because they had good reviews but they didn't even respond. Not sure I want to work with a company that can't even send a quick email. It's unprofessional and I wonder why Angie's list allows them to have the "Schedule" email options for companies that won't respond. Makes Angie's list look bad too. Oh well. On to the next.

He did some extensive work for us. We had a good experience with him. It ended up costing more than we thought because it took longer. He was an excellent painter. He did a great job. He was very neat and a perfectionist when it came to doing his work well. He did a very good job. One thing he was especially good at was cleaning up after himself. He did a much better job of that than a lot of workers would.

He seem to be a very honest person. He had an entry right before he suppose to start our project and yet he was able to complete it. He's upfront about everything and explained everything to us. We were concern about keeping cost down and he work with us about keeping the cost down. Once he got going with it he got done quickly.

I asked Adam for an estimate and never heard back from him.

They were able to complete the list and I was happy with the outcomes. I will need to finish a painting task but that was acceptable to me.

They came in, did the plumbing and ripped out the old sink and cabinetry and put the new in. It went fantastic.

They are very quick, very responsive, and they did a good job. Mr. Adams himself came out to do the work. He did a good job, did it very quickly, and with a good price. He did a super job, I was highly impressed. He cleaned up, and I was pleased. I called him, and he was out the next day, and we were in the process of moving, so he waited until we had moved, and settled in a little and it worked out great.

Adam and staff were terrific. They held the cost into my budget and yet performed a work of perfection. From the beginning Adam proposed alternative solutions to make the plans better both for their use and their attractiveness. At each step Adam demonstrated knowledge of available choices in both design and material. He never pressured me into a choice, but inevitably his suggestion was a good one. Adam takes pride in his work. His carpentry is excellent; his electrical work is flawless; his tiling work is perfect. When he is done, everything works as it should and looks beautiful. He is also a really nice guy. I understand that some reviewers complain about his response time to calls. I am certain this is because he is in high demand because of his honesty and quality. It is unfortunate that he can't help everyone who calls, but it is a testament to his work that he is in such high demand. Once he commits to the job, there is no problem with communication. He simply cannot talk to the numerous other people who would like to hire him. Some contractors might solve this problem by simply hiring more employees. Unfortunately that often causes a decline in the workmanship. Adam refuses to do this. The down side is that he cannot return all the calls to non-customers.

The kitchen was old and not level and he leveled everything before installing the new cabinets. Adam was very professional and reliable. He did an outstanding job.

They never responded to my Angie's List message.

After chatting informally about the number of contractors who either never return initial calls or come out and then don't send estimates, Adam assured me he would follow through. Well it never happened and we never got an estimate. I can't comment on the quality of his work, I can only say he didn't send the estimate as he said he would.

Gutted and rebuilt our kitchen: knocked out a partial wall, expanded a doorway, removed a chimney, raised the ceiling, replaced the sub-floor and added tile floor, installed new windows and trim, painted walls and added baseboard, installed new cabinets, moved appliances and supply lines, installed back splash. Painted, trimmed, and installed windows in the dining room. Painted and trimmed living room. Painted stairwell and installed new handrail. Rebuilt walls and tiled bathroom shower (discovered shower wall had water damage when walls came down in kitchen). We are extremely pleased with Adam and his team and intend to hire them for future jobs. They worked hard and cleaned up at the end of every day they were here. He uses a time and materials contract (rather than a bid), and we trued up at the end of each week. His rates are extremely reasonable and he is very conscientious about cost of materials. The overall project ended up costing a little more than estimated, but that was because we added on additional projects as we went along. The estimated time frame was actually pretty accurate: we expected 5-6 weeks and it became 7 1/2 weeks, but one week was downtime waiting for our counter tops to be delivered and installed (quartz product installed by a different company). The end result is an amazing and beautiful kitchen. Adam is worth any effort it takes to reach him to set up the work. If he can't answer or return your phone call right away, just remember that is because he's working on someone else's project. He'll give you the same dedication.

I called, left a message but never received a return call

Adam was perfectly professional and straightforward. Not cheap, but not expensive either: reasonable rates. Completely satisfied and hope to have him work on a new project we are considering.

Contacted provider via Angie's List 6/4/14. Never got any reply. I consider that to be very unprofessional and will move on to someone else on the list. I don't understand why these providers list on this site if they don't want business. Very disappointing.
