Adam's Handyman & Remodeling Service

The short answer is that Adam and Pat are excellent. The long answer is as follows: we needed our kitchen remodeled/repaired after water mitigation services left us with a gutted kitchen and at least a two month wait for repairs through the service. Fortunately, we found Adam! Adam's estimate was thorough and realistic, and he spotted things other contractors giving estimates didn't. As for the job itself, Adam is great about communication. He rolled with the punches throughout the job, and he did things the right way. Adam and Pat: -- removed the remaining cabinets in the kitchen -- discovered uneven floor joists causing a slanted floor -- removed three layers of vinyl and two layers of subfloor (our kitchen was completely open to the basement for a bit!) -- repaired the floor joists -- rebuilt the subfloor -- replaced the cabinets and rebuilt part of one cabinet -- laid floor tile -- hung drywall -- redid ceiling and wall insulation -- fixed electrical -- hung a new light -- moved and rebuilt a soffit -- installed a vintage cast-iron sink -- installed a dishwasher -- repaired some seriously wild plumbing from the previous owner -- installed a new faucet -- repaired heating vents -- replaced new baseboards, trim, etc -- tiled the backsplash -- painted Adam and Pat are great with kids and dogs, and their work is excellent. They do the job the right way. We'll be hiring them again for additional projects in the future.

I needed some pieces of furniture assembled that I had purchased. I ended up going with another business. I put in a quote request online twice. One on 7/10 and another on 7/17. I also called on multiple occasions and was unable to reach anyone or receive any kind of response. It seems that this business just doesn't want customers. You should at least reach back out to potential customers even if you are unable to complete the work requested.

We had water damage in a garage ceiling. Adam was able to get it fixed in a matter of days and left the garage so much cleaner than when he got there. We had done the mitigation already, but we didn't have the time or equipment to put the drywall back on the ceiling. He was able to work around our schedules and is great about communicating potential issues that we needed to fix.

Adam was very responsive, staying in contact regularlly until the work was scheduled and completed. No problems at all, and a very good price to assist with strengthenin structural support of a sagging floor beam Highly recommended.

My project apparently wasn't worth his time. He came last fall to look at the job. Said he would have a quote in a few days. After a period of no response I contacted him for the quote and he said he couldn't give me one until March. That is the last I heard from him. Not bothering to communicate, not bothering to follow up. He obviously felt no need for any semblance of professionalism or customer service.

We cannot say enough about Adam's work on our basement remodel. He talked us through all of our options, was very responsive, and did the work efficiently and well. For example, we wanted to put in a very nice drop ceiling rather than dry wall so we can access it better for future bathroom/plumbing projects. Adam talked us through the pros and cons of each option but did not pressure us to do the (more expensive) dry wall ceiling. This was true for every option along the way, i.e. types of recessed lighting, particular ceiling tiles, molding, etc. We can't recommend enough!

They did a really great job. They were a really good at meeting my needs. They made good suggestions on alternatives if certain things didn't meet my budget. They were very respectful of my house.

Called Adam for an estimate, never returned my call or responded. its hard to use a highly rated service like this if no one responds.

Great. I wanted to do the tile on the floor of the bathroom myself, but I didn't have the skill to repair the rot around the toilet or install cement board, Adam came in and did exactly what I asked him to so I could do my project. He and his assistant were very prompt, professional and explained the repairs needed and my options. He went above and beyond, returning to reinstall and adjust the toilet when I called him at the last minute!

Adam has helped us with projects around our older, quirky house that no one else wanted to take on. He did an amazing job repairing our window sills that had rotting extending down into the casing He noticed, while he was here, that the joints between our cedar siding had never been sealed by the previous diy homeowner so we had him back to do that job, which improved the appearance and integrity of the siding. He worked hard to match the colors of the house and put up with our 3 barking dogs. He kept us up-to-date on the progress of the job.

Great They finished the job on time and under the estimate i was given. They kept me informed on every detail of the project.

It went well and looks beautiful. The leak issue was really small and Adam provided solutions to ensure it wouldn't do it again. Adam and Pat made sure all of the dust/mess was cleaned up and were good about communicating what was done and what was left to go within the project. They asked questions and made sure it was what I wanted. At the end of the day, with the leak being small, the actual cost was considerably less than the original quote. Materials and time were spelled out for me so I could verify it and ask questions. I will use them again.

My refrigerator is not working , also oven . He charged reasonable price , and fix

Things went really well. Adam was able to quickly repair the items that were repairable, gave clear advice on the items that should be replaced, and gave solid advice on how to proceed with the window sill replacement -- i.e., the window should be replaced. I appreciated the wisdom and knowledge behind each item. I will definitely hire again, including for some larger items I have on my wish list.

Excellent service and work. We could not have been more pleased. Adam was very professional. The work was very well done and very high quality. He asked great questions to ensure the details met all of our expectations. He was very neat and cleaned up the work space every night before leaving. Our remodeling project came in on time and under his budget estimate. We would highly recommend him!!!

He was timely for the estimate but then never provided an estimate. He said it would be about a week and that now was very timely as they were lining up new projects.

Two guys came in and did the work. They did a fantastic job and I would hire them back in a second when I need more help like they provided.

It was satisfactory, but I did not have them do any work for me. It was fine. There was a week time lag, they were closed down for a week for vacation, etc., but it was not a problem.

This is the 3rd time we've hired Adam and Pat. They do excellent work and the attention to detail is very impressive. We have a 1930's home where no project is easy and they always find a solution to make things work without compromising quality. They finished our basement which had plenty of challenges such as original windows to replace, very low ceilings, and old original doors/doorways. The final outcome exceeded our expectations and is a great addition to our house where living space is at a premium. Adam is by far the most honest contractor I've ever worked with and truly cares about providing quality service to make sure his customers are satisfied. Please realize he is in high demand and getting ahold of him can be difficult until he is actually on your project at which time he is always available to you (I appreciate that he dedicates his time to my project, generally not to answering calls from others while at my property). Adam and Pat can pretty much take care of any home project and have very fair pricing, making their skills for the price hard to match.

I called them after seeing their high rating on Angie's List, but never heard back.

He showed up for his initial appointment but never bothered to give me an estimate or return my phone call. It's understandable if there is other work that is more profitable, but I don't appreciate the lack of communication. HUGE waste of my time!!!!!!!

Adam and Pat did an excellent job! Every room in my recently purchased home needed to be painted. I was impressed with the care they took to pull baseboards, remove closet shelving, and patch dozens of nail/screw holes to ensure good results. Adam also replaced rotted trim around the exterior garage door and caulked areas he felt could be problematic in the future. He did several other repairs around the house, which I greatly appreciated! There's more work to be done on this house, and I will definitely want Adam and Pat to do it. I could have gone with a larger painting company at a lower cost, but I don't believe I would have received a comparable level of service.

Unfortunately, this provider is non-responsive to phone calls. Maybe it was because the job I had was too small, but no call back isn't very professional. Will not be attempting contact for bigger jobs either.

Very well. Adam and Pat are hard workers and did a great job. If you want someone who is reliable, honest and communicative, hire them.

Adam and Pat were AWESOME to work with. Very thorough in their approach and consistent in their initial proposal and estimate. They made sure the bathroom remodel was perfect upon completion - they were very exact and detailed in all execution. Adam was really thorough and good at explaining any changes or surprises that came up along the way so that I could make informed decisions on all purchases. Even with that, they were able complete the project on budget. The remodel turned out exactly as we wanted it to! Super modern, clean and no longer "grandma's bathroom." These guys are the real deal!
