Jon was there when I arrived for our appointment (and I was early). He explained his methodology when we talked on the phone earlier and went through it with me again to make sure I was comfortable with his approach. He was very thorough and took time to explain his observations. His inspection report was ready for me within 24 hours and was very complete. Jon is very professional and personable.

John was very responsive and professional. He walked through all aspects of the home and pointed out maintenance issues and more serious issues (which there were few). The report was comprehensive and timely. The inspection gave my mother-in law peace of mind.

I called this provider to schedule an appointment and left a message, as he looked highly recommended by Angie's List. He called back, and gave me 2 times that would work and asked me to get back to him ASAP as he could not really hold it if I did not respond back. I contacted the seller and called him back within an hour to let him know the second of the 2 times, Friday would work (as that is what I heard from the seller). He informed me that time was no longer available. I found this unacceptable as I moved heaven and earth to get back to him ASAP. He made no attempt in that hour to call me to say he was going to give away the time, nothing, just informed me when I called back that it was no longer available. In addition, he made no attempts to try to make it right either, by offering another time or trying to work something out. I found him to be extremely unprofessional and would NOT recommend his services.

Jon arrived early and was already looking things over upstairs when we got there. After some introductions and a little bit of paperwork we jumped right in to the inspection. The inspection itself took about 3 hours and he was extremely thorough and explained everything along the way. We were aware that he could not answer specific questions like "Do you think the shower will be a cheap fix?", as he's not a licensed plumber?but if we had any questions, he was very forthcoming and answered everything to the best of his ability. While I had an idea of what to expect from Jon per the reviews here on Angie's List, my partner and I were quite surprised and happy with the quality and level of detail Jon put in to the inspection. For the radon testing?he was again?very on top of it and set it up two days prior so he could have the results by the day of the inspection. A couple hours after the inspection he sent along the radon results and later that evening the inspection summary. I would highly recommend him and I would gladly go to him again for any further inspection needs.

I am in the process of buying a home. I was very impressed with the reviews of his company and am so glad I chose him! He was extremely thorough, checking every possible thing in the house. He found quite a few "problems" that needing fixing, including some safety issues. His contract was fair and did not contain the large number of exclusions that I'd seen in a few other contracts. He was on time and had the report to me the same day! His expertise was invaluable to me and I followed up by asking the seller to make some of the repairs. I now have a handy list of other things that need attending to, which I will take care of after the purchase. I HIGHLY recommend him!

Jon Weiss was easily my first choice for a home inspection due to the reviews on Angie's List. My wife and I wanted to be present for the inspection and since we would be out of state for 2 weeks starting next week we had to have the inspection this week. Jon was able to fit us into his tight schedule and he spent 3 hours with us inspecting the home. I arrived at the home 15 minutes early and Jon was already there. Jon looked at and into everything in the house and gave us tips and information frequently. He took lots of pictures and seemed to be very organized; I'm not sure what phone app he was using but it seemed to be very helpful for organization and not missing anything. It took 3 hours but it was definitely time well spent; he was nice and easy to talk to but he never stopped working. That same afternoon he sent me the report which is great. It was more detailed and better organized than most home inspector's reports and it didn't take days or weeks of leaving messages to get it. Jon also set up a Radon tester and as soon as he got the results he sent them to me. The average radon levels were very close to the max recommended by the EPA; Jon didn't give any recommendation but he did include the link to the EPA's website. However he did make it clear that if I have any questions to feel free to ask him so I may do so. Overall the experience was close to perfect and I highly recommend his services to everyone.

Jon showed up early. He was very professional and very thorough. He found many defects and has a good eye for the job. I'm giving him a B because he is good at his job and did what was asked of him. He is not getting an A because he wasn't outstanding. He found defects but that was the end of it. He would not go into any details of opinions on what defects were severe vs. minor. Almost all of his comments were "find a qualified inspector to look further". Perhaps this is what you expect from a home inspector but I feel and outstanding inspector would provide more helpful information.

I accompanied him during his 4-hour inspection and he graciously answered numerous questions and voluntarily provided additional information that went above and beyond that typically provided by a home inspector. His report was very thorough (>40 pages with many representative photos) and was provided within 4 hours of the completion of the inspection. In addition, he was willing to provide additional information to my wife and I after our review of his report and did so in a very timely fashion.

Report was very professional, emailed it to us before the timeline he said it would be done and I would highly recommend him to anyone thinking of purchasing a property.

Outstanding work. Thorough, friendly, patient, explained in layman terms some complicated observations. Provided both short version (3P) and long version (36P) of results. Highest recommendation.

Good. On time. Detailed report. Told us s lot of helpful info as he was doing the inspection. Next time I would skip the radon test. You can get a kit cheaper and do it yourself. He did not provide guidance on the results. Would use again and recommend to others.

Jon recently inspected a home we are purchasing. He was right on time and was very friendly. The inspection took longer than he expected, but that only speaks to him doing a thorough job! He did a good job explaining things as he went through the inspection, and identified several things I never would have even thought of. The report was delivered very quickly, and it was easy to access it online and also save an electronic PDF for future reference. I feel much more confident buying the home now. Thanks!

Jon came out and met us. He was on time and was very friendly. He explained everything very well and found things that we didn't. He provided the report the next day! Compared to a previous home inspection on a home we sold, his report was a little lacking in details, but it covered all the major problems. Jon was on time and very thorough. He went through the entire house by himself and then walked through it with me making comments on defects. We are first time home buyers and Jon made a point to go over some of the basic maintenance and details of home ownership which I appreciated. His documentation was prompt and also very thorough, even our realtor was impressed.

Jon showed up half an hour before the scheduled time to take some preliminary measurements and take a preliminary look at the whole house. The inspection itself took a couple of hours during which time, Jon explained to me what he was seeing, made recommendations about how to fix problems, and answered my questions. He provided a written report by the end of the day. When I had a question about an item in the report, he responded the same day. I was pleased with his service and would recommend him to friends.

My regular home inspector moved to AZ. I found Jon on Angie's List. I thought I would give him a try after others' report of great service. His price was in line for a 2-unit rental investment property, home inspection. Jon arrived early and had already pre-screened the exterior from the front. He provided same day service and report filing. His report is very easy to follow, extremely professional in format, presentation and description of issues. I only wish he offered winterization services, as well. My regular home inspector could do both, at a small addition in price. Now I have to find another person to conduct that report. Regardless, I would not hesitate returning to Jon.

I was refinancing my home and wanted to be sure that there weren't major repairs that I should be allotting money for and also wanted to fix little things of concern before they became major problems. When I first called Jon he was able to tell me how long the inspection would take by the questions he asked about my property and he was finished within that time so it was easy to schedule time off from work. He also includes safety concerns in his report and he gives handouts on home repair and remodeling. I like the fact he walks the home owner through the house pointing out and explaining certain things that maybe should be looked at closer by a professional. He's open to questions and very knowledgeable. He has a good background of experience with older properties. The report itself included photos so you could see what he was looking at and commenting about. A very good experience, the information and peace of mind I received was well worth the money spent.

Jon Weiss was our home inspector on a ~5,000 square foot home my husband and I purchased in Middleton, WI in late 2012. Jon was early to the home inspection and started right away. He went through every inch of the home and took pictures of absolutely everything. He was very meticulous and pointed everything out to my husband and I as well as took electronic notes. That same evening we received a 28 page electronic pdf of our home inspection complete with detailed text and pictures describing each potential fault with the home. That document was easily handed right over to the sellers when we requested various repairs. The sellers greatly appreciated the document noting it made having the repairs done easy. This way the seller and the (plumber, electrician, roofer, etc..) new exactly what the problem was that needed repair.

Jon arrived early to the inspection time established and had already gotten to work. He was professional throughout and informative. There were quite a few repairs needed and thanks to Jon's thoroughness and attention to detail we were able to negotiate all of the work into the purchase contract. I would hire him again and give him my full recommendation.

Selected because of all the great reviews on Angie's list, especially the fact that Jon explains everything as he works. And he does. I used his services for a property I was planning on purchasing. I walked around with him, and he took the time to explain how certain systems in the house worked. He pointed out safety issues (a major part of home inspection) and was open to any and all questions about the house. The work was completed in 2.5 hours. The detailed report that arrived within three hours of completion is very thorough and detailed exactly what he said. The summary statements were very concise and useful for the home purchase process. I will continue to use them in the future to get the house into the best shape possible.
