Description of Work: Worked with Scott Ackerman there. He was great. Was able to quote me cheaper for body work in much less time than Gates. They also paid for my rental car through Enterprise and most of all did quality work on my 2016 Fusion. Would do business with them again in a heartbeat

Description of Work: My car was hit in a parking lot causing damage to my front bumper. The Prius has a very large front bumper. The bumper was replaced and painted. I had a $500 deductible and so ended up paying about $500 out of pocket Juliette was my "case manager", and did a wonderful job. It is clear that customer satisfaction is a high priority for these folks and I was 100% satisfied.

Description of Work: Fixed a fender bender. They were friendly and professional, gave a detailed estimate, scheduled the work at my convenience, and got me a taxi ride home. Very happy customer!!

Description of Work: I had originally called Abra to do a windshield repair but they would not because the crack was longer than a dollar bill. In fact, 4 other companies told me the same thing. I had asked the service representative for OEM glass and they said it would be and that the tech would arrive at 9am on the scheduled day. By 9:30 I hadn't even received a phone call and after calling the service center I was told that the expected service time was between 8:00am and 4:00pm. After rescheduling, a tech came out within a 4 hour window and installed a new PGW windshield. This glass was not OEM or had any logo indicating that it was OEM. It was also clearly defective with several vertical lines of distortion spaced about 2 inches apart. I called customer service again and they explained that their glass was OEM quality and they became argumentative and raised their voice when I told them that this was not the same quality. I was able to get another appointment to have another windshield installed. They were supposed to bring another PGW and a Pilkington to compare but when the tech arrived he only had the PGW. That windshield also suffered the same problems as the first and I refused delivery. Jerry was the tech this last time and said he would order the Pilkington and bring it to my place of work for inspection. He did exactly as he said he would and this windshield, while not OEM quality, was much better that the PGW in both clarity and distortion. | |Questions I have for Abra: | |Why does one representative offer appointment times and the next one says you'll have to wait all day? | |Why does the representative say that it takes 4 hours from the time the install starts before you can drive your vehicle while the technician says you can drive in 1 hour after the install? | | |Why after asking for OEM glass does the representative try to sell you something inferior? | |Why are the sales representatives argumentative when they clearly don't understand the product they are selling? | |Buyer beware: | |I spoke with several technicians and dealers about windshield manufacturing and learned the following. | |Most windshields are made by the same couple of manufacturers. | |While car manufacturers may mark up a replacement windshield, they are generally receiving the best of the lot. | |Those pieces that may not be good enough for the dealer go to the after market where they are picked up by companies such as Abra. | |The vertical bars of distortion are caused during the manufacturing process where the glass is pushed through rollers that seal the real glass and plastic together. | |The best way to evaluate distortion is to stand off to the side of the windshield and view something thin like a cable, power line, or the thin trim on another car. A badly distorted window will not show a smooth line but several breaks instead. | |The first technician in the Madison, WI area did an ok job but squirt some of the sealant on the inside of the window and my emergency fund was a little light. If after all my ranting and raving and you decide to try Abra, ask for the tech, Jerry. He is the one bright spot for this company. He is honest, courteous, and does excellent work.

Description of Work: The original reason I went was to repair a crunched bumper, and they completed the repair, as desired. Last month, I had an interior scratch I wanted repaired. Since they don't perform interior work, they directed me to another company that actually came to my house and did that repair, to my satisfaction, for a very good price. I will definitely go back to Abra.

Description of Work: We've had repairs done to two cars. They are professional, explaining all that needed to be done and why. We had a back bumper replaced and a side mirror. They work quickly and explain all work done and billing when picking up the car. I'd recommend them without reservation.

Description of Work: ABRA Auto body, Odana Rd., Madison, WI I went in for an estimate and only waited a few minutes. The service manager, Paul Enerson, quickly accessed the damage and gave me an immediate estimate. He also said that he could start the work immediately and finish the work within one hour for the low cost of $225 + tax. This estimate was hundreds of dollars less than other alternatives that would have required painting. The work involved removing a dent about eight inches in diameter, buffing out the scratches, touching up the parts that needed touch-up paint.

Description of Work: My Acura was in a serious collision accident due to ice and snow on the road. I took it to ABRA for body work and to assure safe future operation. Paul Enerson, General Manager, met me and discussed in detail his conclusions about what needed to be done. He was thorough, professional and understanding about the kind of results I expected from the work. We agreed to proceed with the repairs and determined a reasonable time frame. This car was in bad shape and frankly I was concerned about the ultimate result of any attempts to repair it.

Description of Work: A new front quarter panel installed on a Honda CRV after it was damaged while parked on the street.

Description of Work: I had a large, bad looking dent in my fender. Paul, the general manager, looked it over and said that they could essentially pop it out and it would look about 95% as good as new, for under $200, or do a full repair for a lot more. The damage was not covered by insurance, and I was interested in the 95% job. He did not try to upsell. He set a date soon after, and did the work very promptly. I was more than pleased with the entire process. There were some marks [work did not include painting] and he said that if I got some touch up from the dealer he would apply it at no additional charge. Charge included zone taxi ride home and then back to the shop for pick up. My understanding is that if you want to pay the extra [50% surcharge], you can have direct cab service. I went somewhere else for an estimate as well, and the estimate was almost identical. However, the Abra shop is very clean, and the other shop was very grungy -- dusty, dirty and messy. I liked Abra much better. [The other shop was also A rated on Angies List.]

Description of Work: I needed the front bumper of my Toyota Highlander replaced and it was going to be an "out-of-pocket" expense.

Description of Work: I went to Abra Auto Body & Glass in late October or early November. I had to pay a $500 deductible and there was a little $200 work that I had them touch up at the same time while it was in the shop. It was a broken tail light and a special bumper. It caved in the body, so they had to do some body work as well.

Description of Work: Repaired damage to rear end (bumper, sidepanel and rear-door-mounted spare tire cover) caused by another vehicle rear-ending our Toyota RAV4.

Description of Work: Our truck was rear ended. I took the truck to ABRA for an estimate for repairs. Paul was prompt, courteous, and professional for the estimate. The truck needed a new bumper, tailgate, and side panel. I was able to get the truck in for repair at a time that worked for me. ABRA took complete care of dealing with the owner of the truck that hit us and also with his insurance company. I am completely satisfied with the quality of the repairs to the truck. The staff at ABRA were all courteous, friendly, prompt. The building was spotless, from the office to the drive-in area.
