I contacted the Better Business Bureau and the Consumer Protection Bureau of Wisconsin and discovered that other customers had had bad experiences with the company with similar problems with getting the work done in a timely fashion. They received their money back when they requested it. My brother called Masters Construction. That conversation was extremely unpleasant. They obviously cared more for the money than the customer. I discovered that they had not obtained the required building permit from the city even though the contract states that they would take care of that. I have no trust in this company even though the original contact with them was pleasant and I had hopes of getting the help I needed. Every contact I had with the company was with someone new. Nobody seemed to be even aware of what was to be done with the roof after the first contact. They collected one half of the required money which was more than enough to pay for the door and window in full at the initial meeting and the signing of the contract. 15 weeks later three men showed up unannounced to put in the door and window. I sent them on their way as I had no clue who they were and I was concerned that they might not know what to do. The trust was gone.
Description of Work: Very little communication generated from company. Promises made by them were not kept concerning when they were going to do the work which should have been completed in 5-7 weeks. I signed a contract with them to install a door and a window and do some roof work in May. It is now September and I have asked for my deposit back since they hadn't even contacted me until I wrote a letter telling them I was fed up with waiting and wanted my money back and I didn't trust them. That was 14 weeks after the contract was signed. I have had nothing in writing from them since the contract was signed.

This has been hands down the WORST and most undesirable experience of exchanging money for service I have ever been involved with. When we had our initial design consultation with Masters, we we're impressed with their ideas and eagerness for the project. They proposed a timeline that worked with our schedule and promised a completion date before the upcoming holiday season. They seemed to have innovative ideas and were eager to work and prided themselves in their ability to complete the proposed project in a brief period. After short discussion and negotiation we agreed to proceed with the above mentioned contract. We signed a contract on September 27, 2012, with a verbal guarantee to be finished by October, 31 2012. They finished February 2013. From the moment the contract was signed we had problems with communication, poor and irresponsible craftsmanship, incorrect materials, unprofessional and unbecoming behavior, and overall lack of quality and attention to detail.
Description of Work: Masters construction group was to remodel kitchen including removal of old countertops and cupboards. Remove remainder of non-functional chimney. Install gas line for gas range. Install new outlets. Add additional outlets for garbage disposal and dishwasher. Install new cupboards and solid surface countertops. Install new sink including faucet and necessary plumbing for garbage disposal, dishwasher.

People should be aware of this company as they overcharge and do not do what they specify they are going to do. I thought that they were going to do our entire attic, but it turned out that they only did 500 square feet. Our attic is about 1600 square feet so it did not even cover half. The area that I originally was concerned about was also not even done. They gave me no itemized bill, but was just one amount with no separation of materials and labor. They were very courteous and seemed to be professional in the beginning, but this has certainly taught me that I will never deal with anyone that I don't know, or can trust. The part of the attic they did was well done, but it simply wasn't completed as stated it would be.
Description of Work: They were contracted to do the insulation in my attic. It was supposed to include 10 in of Owens Corning Atticat insulation at 500 square feet.
