They arrived on time and took 11 hours to completely strip our roof and put a new one on. They cleaned up after themselves nicely, didn't overcharge for little extras and did an excellent job. Jeff, the owner was at the sight and kept us up to date on what the process was and how it was going.

I obtained estimates from a few companies. Jeff Riley with American Roofing and Siding came in the lowest and was a good [sales] closer by asking when if he could get started the following week. Part of his lower pricing came from not replacing all the metal flashings around ceiling windows and solar tubes but instead just reusing them. His work crew also appeared to be inexperienced. They came and parked their trash trailer on my driveway apron and left it overnight. They arrived early in the morning the first day and began tearing off the old shingles. There appeared to be minimal safety precautions in place and one of the workers tripped and almost fell off the roof... I never verified prior to contracting that Jeff actually had insurance to cover any accidents. As I left that morning for work I saw a down pour approaching across the river. I wonder if they ever actually got the ridge vents covered in time. We must have gotten a solid 10 to 15 minute down pour. The contracted services stated that after the roof was installed they would flush the gutters and walk around the house and pickup any old roof scraps and staples (with magnets). These were obviously never done and I should probably have withheld payment until they were. The gutters were filled with the asphalt grains. I also picked up lots of shingle scraps and I still find staples in the grass around the house. I see possible moisture issues on the ceilings but doubt it's enough to to convince Jeff or anyone that there's a problem. Contract came with 3 year labor warranty, after he got paid and the job was finished my gut felt like I'd never seen him again, even if there was a problem. I pray every time I look at the ceiling that I'm just seeing things and that nothing is wrong. I made a very bad naive mistake and am learning a hard lesson, don't go cheap or take short cuts on your roof, if its shoddy then the rest of your house is at risk. I am almost expecting to have to replace this roof in a few years and pray I don't have any mold or rot issues. Going cheap will probably cost me double and definitely more than had I even gone with the most expensive estimate.

During the project Jeff showed up at 2am just "to check on things" really scaring my wife and I.They created big ruts in our yard. Hit a power pole with their truck breaking a transformer ground line. Our roof project was not finished on time or fully. The roof started leaking within one year.Shingles wavy and buckled in 2 years. When called for service under 3 year workmanship warranty, did not return calls. Was no show for 3 scheduled appointments for repairs. We are looking into re-roofing our house due to continuous problems with water entering the walls causing drywall repairs and mold remediation.Though the original price was tempting, I highly recommend you avoid this roofer!
Description of Work: American Roofing owned by Jeff Riley did a complete tear off and replacement of my shingles. I would absolutely not recommend this company!
