Onan (Joe Onan) showed up the first day to do work without the required permit. When I insisted on obtaining a permit, which was required, he went to the county and provided them incomplete information to obtain a fast permit. This resulted in a county inspector being assigned to the project to oversee what was actually being done. The plumber he contracted to do the plumbing arrived to give him an estimate on the work to be done. An unpleasant gentleman to say the least who asked for my contact number and then proceeded to scratch it into the stairwell in my basement. He used his cell phone to quickly check out areas. He was to start at 8 the following morning. He arrived around 11:30. This guy was a joke. He removed the tub and quickly had that put into his van. There had been another delivered and that was to be installed on new wood with bracing (the floor under the old tub was rotted). Venting was supposed to be corrected to code and an old bathroom in the basement was to be removed and the pipes capped. This took only a day and the inspector came to inspect the plumbing. He failed the work. The tub had been installed on the rotted wood with absolutely no bracing. He had cut an eight inch square in the linen closet and vented the pipes into the closet connecting them to each other. He also had used a piece of PVC pipe crammed into the basement pipes with a plastic grocery bag at the bottom to make it fit. This was his "capping" of the pipes in the basement. The new toilet he installed we found, was leaking into the basement. It took two additional, different plumbers that attempted to correct his work and there are still leaks from the toilet and the shower into the basement. The first plumber also, using the windowsill to help get up from a squatting position, cracked the sill, which Joe Onan promised to replace but did not do so. There is also the eight inch square cut into the floor of the linen closet that he promised to repair also..and did not. The pipes that his plumber tried to place there had to be removed and vented correctly through the roof. Now for the construction part of the project. They did a nice job on the walls but ruined that with their sloppy installation of the tub surround. They used cheap caulk which started to fall out within a week of being done. Their trim work could have been done by anyone with the ability to cut wood and in the corner is already falling out. Their paint job is bubbling from the water leaking from somewhere in the tub/shower. And in staining the door, a foot wide stain of the door stain that they spilled and covered remains on the carpet. The new shower doors were installed incorrectly and one can hardly be opened as it scrapes the bottom of metal piece holding it. This company failed inspection six times. The inspector finally passed them but said they were to fix the leaking sink they installed and the toilet leak. Onan promised the inspector he would do so, but of course we have not heard from him since. He does not respond to phone calls and I'm sure he will not be back to correct the many issues with his work. Think twice before you hire this firm. Oh..and the tile they installed? We noticed some "bumps" showing up under it after walking on it for a bit. Apparently, they didn't sweep the plywood they installed before laying the tile and small rocks are now pushing up through the linoleum. I won't even go into the work they did but didn't complete in the basement.
Description of Work: Gutted and remodeled bathroom including walls, tile, exhaust fan, paint, new tub and surround, and fixtures. Subcontracted a plumber to do plumbing work.
