 + -1 moreI phoned on afternoon of 11/10/15 for locksmith to install electronic keypad door lock that security company could not install due to needing hole drilled in door. Locksmith was able to schedule appointment for 9am on 11/11/15. Arrived promptly and completed job in less than an hour. Rekeyed lockset in doorknob lock to match new keypad lock. Locksmith was pleasant and easy to work with. We intend to replace our back door and will use Hoernel Lock & Key to key that new lock to match the front door. Service call price and hourly rate were quoted in advance, so we knew what to expect. I like working with an honest, open service provider.
Description of Work: Drill hole in door and install (owner owned) electronic keypad door lock. Rekeyed locks to match.

Description of Work: We approached HOERNEL LOCK & KEY for duplicate keys. It turned out our keys were special !!! Our new home had an enhanced security key-lock system installed. They were extremely helpful and explained the enhanced system and how it worked. Although they could have sold us new locks, HOERNEL LOCK & KEY called and set up an appointment with the correct locksmith that installed and currently managed the enhanced system. It saved us a lot of money, plus we benefit from enhanced security features already paid for by previous owner.

 + -1 moreThese deadbolts were tricky, and the locksmith did a fabulous job. He was punctual, worked hard until the job was done and was personable and pleasant. I had called another company first and they were rude about scheduling an appointment....but this company was helpful and extremely responsive from the start. Totally happy with them!!!

 + -1 moreAs noted above, we had one small problem, which was due to a manufacturing/shipping defect, and it was corrected as soon as a replacement part became available. We had no other problems and the work went quickly and we are quite satisfied with the work done.
Description of Work: We had several door locks re-keyed, a passage set replaced, and some adjustments and reinforcement done on another door. Mark came out to the house, looked at the project, and they emailed an estimate the next day. After trading a couple of emails and fine-tuning the work to be done, Mark came out to the house, performed the needed work quickly and professionally. He noted that the new passage set had been damaged, so promised to replace it as soon as a replacement could be ordered, and did so two days later. We were not charged until all work was completed and we were satisfied.

Description of Work: My brother in law had died and there was a safe that we did not have the combination for. I contacted several locksmiths regarding the safe. Many had a 1-2 week wait time. This locksmith contacted the company and got an override combination that was able to open the safe and charged about half of what the other locksmiths told me the charge would be for an override combination. I did find it frustrating that I would call and not get return phone calls, but the business was in the process of moving to a new location and this may not be a problem in the future.
