It went very well. Their 'workers' are all friendly and do great quality of work. They were quick to answer any questions and fulfill requests.. Always left the area clean. They were in our home approx 6 weeks.

We had gone to DICKOW-CYZAK TILE COMPANY to have a bathroom redone. They were very helpful as far as explaining styles and what not. We had wanted to convert the bathtub into a walk in shower. A time was scheduled for them to come and visit our home to determine what would be done. They gave some suggestions and said they would have an estimate ready. When the estimate was ready, and we reviewed it, it was so incredibly expensive. The concept was transformed into an entire renovation worth far more than the cost of our kitchen. While the employees were friendly and knowledgeable, the cost was just way too high and we did not have the work done.

I went at least three times to look at the tiles to make up my mind, and they were very patient and helped me to decide. I liked that the perfect color grout was there and available . I have used them twice in the distant past for bathroom repairs/ remodels and was very pleased

Work was timely and well done. The carpenter was friendly and professional. Jeff Dickow was prompt in getting out for the estimate and very personable and professional. This repair work was follow up to work Dickow did for us several years ago - laminate flooring in the kitchen and shower/bath remodel in the master bath. We gave the crews access to our house while we were all at school/work and everything was done well. Will continue to go to them for estimates and proposals for future work.

Received a quote. Agreed to price. Picked out the granite at a Milwaukee Granite showroom. 1 week later installation was completed.

I chose to not work with Dickow-Cyzak. I found that the estimator did not listen to what I wanted as a customer, and at time of second meeting he had not reviewed my drawing of the proposed space. He repeatedly tried to push me toward design choices that were not what I was asking for. He wanted to reverse the placement of toilet and vanity. I told him that additional plumbing expense is not how I wanted to spend the money that was budgeted. Yet, in each sentence he kept assuming I had agreed to this swap. He arrogantly told me that he had made this half to full bath conversion hundreds of times in his career and he knew what worked best. He tried to convince me to tile the shower when I said I wanted solid surface materials. He said that was too expensive. I wanted the fold up shower seat offered by the distributor of the solid surface materials I had selected. He thought I should install a stationary attached seat. That seat is a corner design and not as suitable for a disabled user. He suggested I purchase a free standing shower chair. I wanted a shower curtain, he wanted me to have glass doors. I had to remind him again there was a disabled user. I wanted a narrow slab of vanity solid surface extended over the toilet as a shelf, but wanted it in a separate piece to allow access to the toilet tank when needed. He did not want to split the shelf into a separate piece because it looks better if all one piece. His solution if we ever needed to get to the toilet tank was to unbolt it and move the toilet! Once again, failing to take into consideration diability limitations. It is not the job of a contractor to build what he thinks should be built, even if it is what he has built many times before. If he believes the customer's requests are not workable, then it is his job to educate and lead the customer to accept other options, NOT argue with the customer or assume that the customer will let you decide what to install. Other contractors that I interviewed were successful in educating me about certain choices I was making and help me to find better options.

Chet Dickow came out to my home on 8/9/9/11 to prepare an estimate for my bathroom which is very small. I requested information on tub lining, floor tile, and a new vanity. Mr. Dickow removed his shoes upon entering my home (raining outside) and took pictures of the bathroom. He listened to what I wanted done. I met with Chet on 9/22/11 at his store. I requested this date even through it was over a month from initial contact due to my schedule. Mr. Dickow presented a very thorough estimate that was broken down by area to be remodeled. He then helped me select wood for the vanity, floor tile, and color for the tub lining and sink. Estimate also included removal of old floor. I was allowed to take a sample floor tile with me. The estimate was within my budget for what I wanted done. After reviewing the estimate with my husband, I let Mr. Dickow know I wanted to proceed with the project. On 10/25/11, Mr. Dickow and a tub lining specialist came back to my house to look at the bathroom. Again, they were very respectful of my home. Specialist indicated tub lining would extend beyond wall. Discussion followed on options. Mr. Dickow said he would get back to me. Mr. Dickow came back on 11/15/11 with a carpenter to check vanity measurements and tub lining. I met with Mr. Dickow on 11/21/11 to discuss options which included replacing tub with shower only, installing a new tub, or going with the liner. Estimate was over my budget so Mr. Dickow showed me items that my husband and I could do ourselves to save money. This process has taken a while due to my work schedule and a family wedding. I have been very pleased with Mr. Dickow's estimates and his willingness to work with me on costs. Dickow/Cyzak remodeled my bathroom over 30 years ago and the wall tile is still in very good condition. The staff at the store is also very helpful. They take the time to answer questions and make sure messages are delivered in a timely manner. While we still need to work on some details, I plan on have Dickow/Cyzak remodel my bathroom.

Countertops went in quickly. A few modifications were needed for the window sill and Dickow installers quickly made the changes needed. The installation team did miss some of the instructions on the work order that adjusted the out-of-square drywall requiring after install fix to gaps in two corners. The fix was quick and did not cost any more. Very pleased with the whole experience: price, quality, install...

I would not rule out considering this company for a different bathroom or a kitchen, but I would want to work with another estimator. This company was not the right choice for this job. I believe that this company probably does quality work. They have a good reputation in the community and have run what appears to be a successful business for many years. (1970s?) The estimator was knowledgeable and I believe him to be experienced, and he offered several good ideas that I had not thought of. He is NOT a good listener. He did not seem interested in using his expertise to find a way to remodel the bathroom the way I wanted it built. He made assumptions on how I wanted the space configured based on having done previous half bath to full bath remodels in "many" similar homes. I had prepared a drawing for our first meeting and written notes about things I preferred and things I did not want. He only glanced at this drawing in my presence and then proceeded as though I had agreed to the materials and layout he wanted to use. For the second appointment at his showroom, he appeared unprepared and I wondered if he remembered that he had made this appointment with me. He did not appear to have read any of my notes or any of his own notes in preparation for that appointment. He recommended a shower base that would not fit in the space. When I showed him on the drawing that space was not available, he made some excuse about not being able to remember everything. I was surprised to learn that he intended to do this work without building permits. He said that permits would add to the cost and waiting for inspections would cause delays. He also told me that the "city" referred them to fix work that other contractors had done badly and they were not required to get pemits because the "city" trusted their work. At the meeting at my home this estimator asked me who else I was interviewing and then remarked negatively about one of those contractors. I found this to be unprofessional.

We had a great time working with Chet, the owner and his staff. We visited his store several times and he visited our home to measure and provide advice. He is very personable and easy to do business with. When we finally decided on the configuration we wanted he provided a detailed quotation. We tendered a deposit in early November and he promised we would have installtion by Christmas - important because we were expecting guests for the holiday. The week before Christmas the installation crew arrived as promised. There were two problems with the job as it had been specified. First, we wanted a magnifying make-up mirror but in the process of installation quickly realized that there was no practical way to mount it. Also, once the carpenter cut the opening for the medicine cabinet we had picked out we found there was an interference problem we had not anticipated which would have required an additional offset. After some discussion, we decided to alter the configuration, deleting the medicine cabinet and adding a side mirror instead. The side mirror required cut-outs for the electrical outlets and since it was too late to obtain it before the Holiday, Dickow-Cyzak provided a temporary mirror until the proper one could be finished. The bottom line was that we had a functioning guest bathroom for Christmas. Mike returned the following week to finish the install and we are quite happy with the results. The final invoice was properly adjusted for the mid-job adjustments. We had a uniformly positive experience despite the adjustments required. The cabinetry was first-rate and all work performed was highly professional. All of the workers were extremely tidy. To a person, everyone we came in contact with at Dickow-Cyzak was great to work with. I would not hesitate to recommend them.

Jeff came out to home, measured all areas. I picked out the flooring color I wanted with Jeff's expert advice and work was scheduled. Person installing came on time as promised and work was completed in a very timely manner and on schedule. All people involved were excellent and very professional. The completed job was outstanding!!!
