They helped us out and we are very thankful for the great work performed. We decided to move our laundry room to the second floor. Searching high and low my wife found a design she liked and ordered it from a big-name home improvement store. To save a buck I decided to install the special order vinyl flooring myself and bought a installation kit. A foolish mistake as the flooring sat in a long tube in our foyer sticking straight up against the stairs for almost 2 years. I finally decided to tackle this project and managed to put down underlayment as specified, but got cold feet in actually cutting and putting the vinyl down. The flooring wasn?t cheap and I didn?t want to mess it up. I contacted the big-name retailer and told them of the situation, showing them the original receipt and asked if it wasn?t too late for them to install it. It wasn?t too late, but since I put down my own underlayment, they would not lay down the vinyl. I would have to rip up that new wood just to have them lay down their own. So, my wife called around and got the same answer from other flooring places, many of which had no care for our situation since we didn?t buy through them in the first place - understandable. But, to save the day Halverson Carpet Center was the only one to send out one of their workers to install our vinyl. They quoted a price over the phone and we set up a time. He provided us with the necessary paperwork and did a wonderful job installing the vinyl. Now Halverson will be our first stop the next time we look for any flooring purchase.

The carpet removal went well, but the installer left several gaps between the flooring edge and the molding. They were in obvious spots and should have been easily noticed. After two callbacks he fixed most of the problems, but said a couple gaps were "close enough". Update based on "Provider Response": The ?Sales manager? is clearly thinking of a different client. My house was 5 years old at the time, with perfectly even floors. At NO point did I contact a lawyer, far less did this ?finally ended in litigation?. This manager should get his facts straight prior to replying to a review.
