I did not feel that they were very trustworthy. They gave me the results of the diagnostic. They said I needed a new furnace. I explained I could not afford it at this time. They then pushed me to tell them how much I could pay them at this time for a new furnace. They seemed too pushy.

We were really disappointed to get the news that the coil was damaged as this was an expensive part. We had just bought the house and we were unable to check the air conditioner during inspection because the temperature was too low. So this was an unexpected expense. However, the technician was professional and explained our options. We opted to have the coil replaced as the unit itself is relatively new. We were assured that the part would come in soon. We were disappointed that the part took longer than expected. After several calls to the company they kept assuring us that the part was just a day or two out. It took a total of 2 weeks to get the part in. This was around the time the heat was getting bad in Milwaukee. I wish we would have had the option to expedite shipping. Once the part arrived, we were very pleased with the service. The technician was professional and thorough and even helped us understand the ductwork in the basement. Overall, we are really happy. Just diappointed it took so long to get the part.

We purchased a big deal for the service, and it went good. They charged me extra because they had to fix something that was broken.

It was a bad experience. 2 days after they left, all the free end in my conditioner was gone so I ended up calling another company to come and patch it up for me. Holland was going to charge me $1200 to replace a coil and I figured I could save $1200 for that and just get a new HD system and I had another guy come and take a look to give me an estimate because I didn't feel very confident with Holland, and he said that he would just charge me $350 and I haven't had a problem with it since.
Description of Work: I puechased a big deal service from Holland Home Services/Holland's One Hour Heating to come by and do a high pressure pitch and replace the entire HD air conditioning system.

My heater broke and I had to get a new heater. He was the first of 7 companies that I had over. At first he spent a couple hours and did a very through rough inspection. I advised them that I would get at least 3 quotes. I was happy with the product he sold me, but I wanted to make sure it was the best quote. I did find a better price so I contacted this company back to get the quote down and I would go with them. The salesman I spoke with said he could not verify the price and I needed to talk to his manager. The manager explained he could not bring down the price and I am paying for the great service. I did sign a contract, but cancelled. They were upset and tried to say they could not cancel the order. I stated that I have legal right to end the contract. Other companies confirmed that I was lied to and that my furnace was not of danger of a gas leak that this company stated that I had. All in all I went from having a great experience up front with the estimate, but at the end management didn’t follow through with their promises to match my best quote.
Description of Work: I purchased the Big Deal for $79.00 for a 21 Point Certified Pre-Winter Furnace Tune-up.

He ran the test and made recomendations. Then installed the new thermostat, which is working great. We didn't have to wait long for the appointment and he was on time and courteous.

The bad part was that they gave us bad advice three times. They sent us back to the store. I needed a bathroom fan. They sent us back to the store three times and it was wrong every time we bought what they told us to get. They had to put a piece of cardboard over the hole in the ceiling, they taped it, and the tape ripped the paint off. It was not a real good experience. We purchased the big deal because we needed a new bathroom fan, basically. They were punctual and professional.
Description of Work: I used a big deal purchase for Holland Home Services/Holland One Hour Heating & Electrical. It was $99 for two hours of licensed professional electrical labor.

The technician drilled a couple holes in our duct work and used a camera to show us the inside of the duct that connects to the external portion of our AC unit as well as the internal coil housing. He identified that the internal section near the coils had deteriorated due to water leakage and mold growth (which was pretty obvious from the view from his camera) and that the system had clearly not been well maintained. (I should point out we bought our home last fall and were aware that the AC unit was over 25 years old and the duct work near the furnace was patchwork at best, but we were unaware of how bad the section near the coil was because a different HVAC contractor hadn't drilled any holes to look). He also identified that the duct leading to the external portion of the AC (and other parts of the house) was dirty and dusty. He advised against running the AC anymore until repairs could be made. For the purposes of diagnosing our problem and highlighting the areas of concern, he was very helpful and provided us with what we felt was good information. We asked how much it would cost for a range of options to solve the problem - from A) replacing the duct work and removing the AC coil (leaving us properly arranged duct work, but no AC to B) replacing the duct work and putting in a new coil (and not replacing the 25 year old external AC unit) to C) replacing the duct work, coil, and external AC unit. He supplied us with information on options A and B, but at no point gave us any relevant information (products, cost, etc) for replacing the external AC unit despite the fact that we had indicated our willingness to consider full replacement at least twice while he was in our home. I did not press the issue of this lack of information because the technician seemed more interested in discussing the importance of having our ducts cleaned and signing up for Holland's Comfort Club, which is a service agreement with some benefits for a monthly fee. He also suggested briefly that if we were to consider full replacement, that we would need to have some kind of home heat assessment done based on square footage of our home and the number of windows, which sounded both expensive and bogus. Finally, after my wife and I indicated (multiple times) we needed time to consider our options, it was obvious the technician was applying some unnecessary pressure to have us make a more immediate decision - which was definitely not helpful and unappreciated and told me I wouldn't be further utilizing any services provided by this company. Overall the service we asked for was competently performed and punctuality was not a problem at all; however, the high pressure sales tactics and the focus on duct cleaning and the service contract were a definite turn off.
Description of Work: When running our central air conditioner, we were experiencing water leaking from our furnace (where the AC coils are housed). We had Holland's One Hour come out to tell us what was wrong.

Holland Home Services/Holland's One Hour Heating wasn't good. They were asking too much money for smaller things so I have to go to somebody else. I only spent for the big deal purchase. I called some other company and they came and cleaned up the heater and it was working fine. Instead of spending $4000, all I had to do was just clean up the heater. They were trying to make me do something that wasn't necessary. Their responsiveness is a little slow.
Description of Work: My boiler blew out. It started tripping off. I called Holland Home Services/Holland's One Hour Heating to see what's the problem. They were saying that I have to replace the boiler.

Scheduling was very good - individual was professional, responsive and I could tell a good company. He completed the work I wanted done in a little over an hour. Was more than accomodating by spending the remainder of the time answering my questions and investigating additional lighting options for my kitchen counters and cabinets. This was a rare experience where a service man was customer friendly and professional without fault ! Triple A-plus experience !!!

Everything was perfect. He was able to give recommendations on how to position the microwave and how it should look. Had no issues, and scheduling was a dream.
Description of Work: Purchased the Big Deal for 2 hours of electrical service. He was able to put in a new circuit for our microwave as well as hang the microwave above the stove. This took about 3 hours to do.

I called due to no heat on Friday night, never heard back from anyone. Then I emailed this on Saturday morning: Steve, I need to tell you that I am disappointed at the service that I have not received from the company. I was a customer for many years and had great service. We haven't been a maintenance customer for quite a while but I didn't think that would matter. I called last night, telling the lady who answered that we had no heat and I needed to hear from someone and I never received a call back. Then I called this morning again and the lady who answered said she couldn't see any screens that the other lady could see,when I had asked what happened, why we never got a call. I am unsure where the One Hour part comes in but I am beyond disappointed. Then Heather calls me back and says she will have a technician call me very soon, wouldn't you know, there is no call. So I call back again to their ever helpful answering service, who asks me every single question over again. Then I email this: I honestly can't believe this. Heather called and said she would get back to me very soon. That was about 3 hours ago. Still no call. So.....I call again and get Angela. There is no apologies, nothing and they don't listen after I say "We have no heat since yesterday" she says, is this something that needs immediate attention or do you just want a service call. I said, I think we should get immediate attention. Then she says, can you tell me what you need the service for? Are you kidding me?!?! I am a member of Angie's list and I am going to go on and review this there because it is so beyond unbelievable that I have spoken with 3 different people at ONE HOUR HEATING and can't even get a call back to talk to a technician!
Description of Work: Nothing went since I haven't heard from a technician yet after 3 phone calls.

Thank you for your patience as we have needed a little time to look into the issues you had Friday and Saturday. Based on the information you provided in your emails and reviews, you spoke with a few different representatives from the answering service we work with before ultimately working with our customer service representative, Heather. Regardless if this was the first time you would have called our company or have been a long time customer we strive to provide professional and timely service and are concerned when a customer feels that they did not receive the proper care. We apologize for any upset caused due to any miscommunication. Our records show that Heather spoke with you on Friday evening and again on Saturday morning. According to her notes from your conversations, you had no heat but based on direction from your HSA you were required to use another heating contractor and indicated that they were coming out to provide you with service. On Saturday you called in again to request pricing on two parts that needed to be replaced per the other heating contractor's recommendations. Unfortunately, our office staff isn't equipped to provide pricing for parts over the phone; only our technicians have pricing information and have the ability to provide it during a scheduled appointment in the home. Heather offered to send out a technician again that day but was declined as you were already working with the other heating contractor and were only looking for a price comparison. After this attempt to provide you with service we perceived that you were already moving in the direction to work solely with the other heating contractor. While we wish we could assist you further there seems to be restrictions in this instance with the HSA involvement and contractor you are able to work with.
