Timberland was great to work with. They helped us through the whole process with the insurance company to get the job done. Their craftsmanship was excellent and their crews were great to work. Definitely recommend Timberland to anyone that needs exterior work done at their home.

We did a major house project with Timberland Exteriors (replaced siding, doors and many windows) We have never done a large scale project like this and it was scary to think about spending that kind of money. We could not have had a better experience from beginning to end. Paul is so knowledgeable, low key, has a great sense of humor and was great to work with. He has lots of experience, good ideas and a great computer program that allows you to see what different doors, siding colors and window styles will look like on your home. He set us up on a group text between Paul, the project manager Gary and my husband and I. Their communication was amazing-always prompt and any concerns we had were immediately addressed. Phone calls and emails were also responded to quickly. The crews that worked on our house (different crew for windows and doors and another for siding) were friendly, conscientious and had an amazing attention to detail. We are thrilled with how everything turned out and would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Timberland Exteriors for your next house project.

Paul is friendly, he gives you information, but it's a stressful thing to have damage to your home and we've never been through this before. He was so helpful about explaining how the process worked, how insurance worked. His guys came out and they were just very very busy. They did great work, on time, easy to deal with, they cleaned up afterwards. There were a couple of snafus; they originally ordered the wrong skylights, but it was quickly rectified and it didn't hold up the project. I was very happy with how it went and I would definitely use them again.

Timberland was unbelievable. I was shown a rendering of what my house would look like with their visualization tool. We had 3 other estimates and Timberland was the only one to offer that. It was fun to look at different options and see what it would look like. We thought we wanted a green house and went with a Iron Grey Hardie. It looks Awsome!

Starting from the sales and quoting process, it was a great job overall.  I have very little room for dumpsters so there were extra steps to pile everything up and then load into a dumpster that was here for a short time.  They had to arrange for 2 dumpsters of siding and other construction debris. Coordination of that was very tight. Everything went from a state of organized chaos to a fine completion.  Their crew was very friendly and cooperative, not to mention very hard working.  They know their stuff!  This made some quick work of it
In the process, they encountered some rot on the face of my garage.  I got a carpenter and the crew went off to work on another site for a day before returning to finish the siding.  They did a fine job of working around the "surprise" found.
The project manager for the job was very available and kept me apprised of the plans and steps.  He did some crew adjustments to make sure that the crew had the skills needed for the job.  His role and contribution was very much appreciated.
I liked what they did so much, I have contracted again with them to do another siding job on an addition that is going to be completed in June.  They are fair in their pricing, reasonable in their abilities to manage expectations and in delivering an excellent quality job.
They did a great job cleaning up and leaving my house and yard in terrific shape!
I will certainly do business with them and will highly recommend them to whoever asks.  FINE JOB!!!

It took them a long time to finish the job. They had to do it even twice because the first time they put the fitting for the rain barrel on the wrong end. I have to say that they were very apologetic about this mistake. Also, I expected the company that does a lot of this kind of work to know more about how rain barrel fittings work. For instance they said that the pipe which directs the water from the gutter to the rain barrel has to be disconnected for the winter, so that the frozen water will not crack the fitting, but they did not think that when snow thaws the water from the fitting pours straight down next to the foundation. So now I have a loose piece of open gutter stuck under the fitting and directing thawing water away from the house. Not the most esthetic solution, I must say, and I still have to see how it would work in the spring.

"Hi [Member Name], I apologize in the delay in getting your gutters done. There was some miscommunication on our end as to when you had scheduled to be unavailable and we didn't communicate that correctly to our crew. Subsequently your project was completed while you were out of town and the downspout was put on the opposite end of your garage. I was glad to take care of replacing that for you. I hope that everything works well for you in the spring. You can call us anytime, we will be glad to make any accommodations for the winter dripping. Paul came out immediately to provide a fair proposal for the replacement of two windows. The windows were a non-standard size and surrounded by brick, which provided unique challenges.
The team who did the work were very professional and efficient. The windows were installed more than 2 years ago and I have yet to see a glimpse of a problem or degradation in the window or the workmanship. He'll be the first person I call for future window work if required.

I have used this contractor before with excellent results . These projects were larger and a little more complicated. Projects took almost 3 months.Timberland refused to lead the project and was unwilling to deal or coordinate with other contractors needed to remove and relocate floor register and remove and relocate an electrical outlet. in order to be able to install the sliding gass door to the deck. Timberland did not coordinate with the building inspector to get required signoff on the work that was done. Overall the projects lacked a specific leader responsible from start to finish. The sales person was my only consistent contact throughout the process and he was not knowledgeable about the detailcs of the work and the various handoffs that were taking place.

The crew (Alex, Alex, Alex, Tom and Marty) all arrived on time and started working immediately (this work was done out of Timberland's Detroit Lakes office).  They pulled the 60+ year windows out and replaced with new custom windows.  Very professional team.  Did a great job.  The windows look great.  The only issue we had was that there was a lot of little metal pieces in the mulch under the windows from trimming the wrapping around the windows.  It would be nice if the crew put some plastic down to catch the metal trimmings.  On the positive side, the crew gave us tips on how to fix the vinyl siding that we already had on the house to keep it from coming loose.  We will contact Timberland for all of our future construction needs.

Paul at Timberland was very professional and efficient in the estimation process. He was very helpful and willing to supply answers to all questions and inquiries. His estimate was detailed and thorough. On the day of the install, the Timberland team was excellent - the roof was installed in a day with minimal intrusion. The clean up was very thorough. I am very pleased with the results. The same goes for the the gutter install.

He gave three options after analyzing the damage and after taking a picture to show after coming off the roof.  In the end he suggested a simple procedure that could be effective either short-term or long-term.  A good fit after extensive house repairs following a storm.  Excellent customer service all around.

Representatives came to the house to offer an estimate, checked the condition of the roof and developed an estimate for us.  Worked with our insurance appraiser to lok over the damage and then did the work. Overall, we were satisfied but responsiveness could have been better.  The entire engagement with them took from late summer last year through summer of this year due to the weather but we also felt they could have given us a better indication of timing.  We had to follow up with calls to determine when the work would be done.  Timberland representatives were very polite and we felt that they gave us the right advice.  The workers who came to do our skylights didn't clean up and also left our yard gate open so my dog escaped to the street, luckily I was able to get him back quickly.  Overall, I feel they did a good job but could be even better on these few things.

CONCERNING
We had worked with Paul Trautman, owner of this company prior to this project and trusted him completely.
The first project was about 30,0000. in work and went very well.
Unfortunately, he helped us with a simple roof replacement and several things happened.
-The workers put a hole in our roof and covered it up.
-Paul Trautman said he pulled a licence with the city for which we actually paid for and later found out, he had not.
-Paul Trautman also reassured us he would be there to inspect the roof boards and call my husband to join him prior to the shingles going on the roof. ...this never happened.  In response, Paul Trautman did say , he inspected it himself and everything was top notch. We totally believed him .
-When  the job was completed, there were several SAGGING areas in our roof . My husband inspected the attic and noticed a huge hole in our roof along with several of the boards that should have been replaced that were not which caused the sagging roof.
Unbelievable that Paul Trautman then demanded payment saying the city had passed the inspection even with all these problems.
We contacted the city and they had no record of the job. We had them inspect the job and it FAILED.
Response from Timberland Exteriors
"Although I do realize that there are concerns for this homeowner I feel the need to respond and correct some misconceptions regarding the work performed for [member name removed]. True, we did do work for the homeowner previously. In 2009 we replaced the siding, fascia and soffit and window trims for the homeowner for $13,500. The siding project looks great. Wonderful transformation. During the fall of 2013 the homeowners contacted us to replace their roof due to the damage caused by the recent storms. We replaced their roofing as well as re-built a large chimney on the roof area. The roof and chimney look great. Their concern prior to starting was the condition of the roof decking. They noticed some sagging to the roof. I explained to them that because of the way their house was built, they have a hand framed structure, the sagging was likely do to that. I explained that we would inspect things during the replacement of the shingles. I was on site during the project and did inspect the deck surface. Although the roof decking showed age, there were no boards that we could see requiring replacement. There was one small area that was damaged and we patched this prior to shingling. There was a permit pulled with the city and it initially passed inspection. I met with Mr. [member name removed] on the completion of the job and he mentioned to me that everything looked good but that [member name removed] still had concerns about the sagging. We tried several times to reach [member name removed] regarding her concerns with no return calls or contact from her. Several weeks passed with no contact from [member name removed] so we billed the final invoice. During this time the homeowners had contacted the city and the inspectors visited the home. In the attic some boards showed a delamination from the inside which would not have been visible to us on the outside, so the city contacted us. We met with Mr. [member name removed] and the city to inspect the area. We all agreed that there may be some damaged boards that were not visible but should be replaced. We explained to Mr. [member name removed] that we would replace his shingles for him at no cost and are in the process of arranging this work with him. We guarantee our work 100% and continue our high quality of standards to this day with thousands of satisfied customers. Paul Trautmann President Timberland Exteriors, Inc."

We compared several contractors and solicited bids from the top three for our project. Timberland Exteriors was our choice and we were not disappointed. Everyone we came in contact with was professional and helpful and they did a great job. We are very pleased with the results, as are our neighbors judging by their comments.

They didn’t charge us anything because they were just fixing up some stuff that another company had done for our gutters. They’re very good. They’re doing work for our neighbors and then figure they’re just going to build more goodwill if they fix up some minor problems that we had. We told them we need new gutters but they said they’ll just try fixing them first.

Excellent service by Paul Trautman (owner) and his roofing and siding crews. Felt like HGTV descended on our house and made it new again. Cannot say enough good things about Timberland Exteriors. They are an excellent company, with fair prices and superior workmanship as well as getting the job done in a timely manner. Worked non-stop to finish our job and were always there to work and on time. We will call Timberland for all our exterior remodeling needs in the future. Already have them on the calendar for new door installation.

We decided to get our home resided and contacted a number of contractors. Timberland had done our window replacement so we contacted them. We met with Pete and discussed what we were looking to do. He took measurements and gave us the estimate a couplecdays later. We also got estimates on vinyl siding not knowing which product we wanted to do. We were happy to see that the Hardie siding was only slightly more expensive than vinyl. Once we got 4 estimates we decided to go with Timberland. We waited about 4 weeks from when we signed the contract to the start of construction. The project took 7 days and the job look great. We are very happy with the quality of the job. The workers were very professional and cleaned up at the end or every day.

This review is long overdue, but it is with great pleasure that I highly recommend Timberland Exteriors.  Our home is a beautiful testament to Timberland?s commitment to quality and exquisite detail.  We have had many comments from friends and family who say our home looks like an absolutely new home.  Our neighbors told us we increased the value of every home on the block!  Thank you, Paul and team, for doing such an absolutely terrific job!  If you are trying to decide on a contractor, I highly suggest you meet with Paul Trautmann and take note of how much he cares about the quality of work.  You will not be disappointed when you hire Timberland.  And, we will be hiring them again for other exterior projects.
I like to research a lot before undergoing a project, so starting in August, 2012, I gathered more than half a dozen quotes to get our siding and deck redone.  After many interviews with contractors, I narrowed the finalists down to two contractors ? individuals who seemed like people I could work with for an extensive project (which is important) and who, in addition, were concerned about the small details of re-siding a home.  We had waited a long time to do this work, and we did not want to just have the home look the same after this big job.  We wanted the transformation to be amazing.  Based on attention to detail and the price quote, we finally hired Timberland (Paul Trautmann) and the job started in mid-October 2012.  Timberland re-sided our home, put on new James Hardie siding, soffit and facia, gutters, front screen door, front windows, and replaced the deck with a new cedar deck.
Paul worked with me to decide on the design of the exterior siding and trim, as our home was built in 1992 and did not have trim around the windows, freeze boards, etc.  Paul knew what he was doing when he made good suggestions for how to make the look of our home ?pop?.  When I asked how he liked the Hardie color, Timberbark, he said he loved it as that was the color of his home.  And, he even invited my husband and me over to see his home to talk about windows and the siding/trim color.  He was patient with my ponderings, and he was open to my likes and dislikes.
As the project unfolded, the project manager and our continuing main contact, Paul was available and stopped by often to check on progress.  Paul lives on the east side of the metro, so that was definitely nice to have him nearby, although I bet he
cares about all projects as much as he did ours.
Tele & crew did a superb job on the siding and trim.  They really know what they are doing.  Their attention to detail, like blocks around lights, hanging our new address plaque just right, and thinking about all other aspects of how to do the job to perfection, was amazing.  I can?t say enough about how great of a job they did!  As the soffit and facia went up, Ben did an equally great job putting on the gutters with the leaf barrier.  We will not have to worry about cleaning those out!  Bill and Chris provided exceptional craftsmanship on our new deck. They were efficient perfectionists, and we look forward to many lovely warm summer nights sitting out on our beautiful cedar haven!  Mark and Gary were quietly efficient when in our home installing the new front windows. And, the windows gathered absolutely no moisture this winter ? I could stand by them without feeling a rush of cold are blow by!  I loved the fact that the finishing touch of having our woodwork stained was taken care of by Gary, and I am certain people cannot tell when the real wood begins and the vinyl ends.
Paul and his entire team are first-class exterior artists.  I am glad I decided to have them use our home as one of their many magnificent canvasses!
