St Croix Energy Solutions conducted an inspection and identified an improvement plan that included: 1) adding insulation to our Wisconsin attic. Some places had only 4-6 inches of blown in insulation. This was increased to the level recommended for our cold winters. 2) Spray foamed the sill plate cavities and drafting areas. The company went above and beyond, working in very tight areas to produce a fantastic result. Communication was timely, the workers were organized and professional, and the job was completed quickly. Its no wonder construction teams recommend them. They should be first on your list.

They did a great job. One option was to replace the bath fan if necessary but after they tested the performance following the reventing it wasn't necessary which saved me $400.

Kim was great to work with to schedule an appointment. Pete called prior to the appointment to let me know he could come early if I was ready (which I did). Pete was VERY thorough in the assessment and allowed me to walk through with him answering all of my questions and explaining what he was doing.

I had an excellent experience throughout the project. Kim was easily reachable via email and phone, and scheduled me an estimate appointment with Pete quickly. Pete came out and thoroughly looked at the projects I was interested in doing, and was very knowledgeable in telling me about how they'd approach the work. The estimate he sent me was detailed and included specifics about what type of insulation they'd use, and how they'd access the side attics. We scheduled the work for November, but rescheduled the exterior work for October in order to get it done before the cold set in. It took two days total for the work. The first day was exterior wall insulation - the guys came out, pulled off one length of my aluminum siding, and drilled large holes through the wall to access each wall cavity. They dense packed cellulose insulation into the cavities - I could hear the insulation filling up the walls! It turned out that two of the walls had been insulated by a previous homeowner, but the guys did a great job drilling test holes to ensure that all the cavities had been filled. SCES adjusted the original estimate to account for the change in the scope of work. The second day the guys brought out the spray foam, and were good about communicating in advance that we'd need to be out of the house while it was being worked on. They also gave me a spot-on estimate for when they thought they'd be finished. They increased the existing insulation in the side attics, and fully sealed around the rim joist. They were neat and pleasant, and great about explaining what they did. I had the NEC inspector come out for an on-site check while the SCES was still there, and the inspector confirmed that all the work had been done well and up to specifications. There were a few small spots in the rim joist that needed some additional foam, which SCES promptly filled in. I highly recommend this company and all of the employees I met. They were knowledgeable and hard workers, and I'm very pleased with their work. They did a blower door test before and after, and were able to get a 30% reduction (this reduction included some of my own DIY air-sealing efforts such as weatherstripping and caulking, but the biggest portion was from the SCES work).

They did a great job. Start time on the day-of was unstated, and after calling I was surprised they wouldn't be out until almost 11 am (I assumed an 8 am or so start time). But, entire job only took the 2 man crew 4 hours, so no worries there. They found a number of places where heated air was bypassing into the attic and sealed everything. They ran a blower door test before and after to verify - ours improved by almost 30%. They were careful to protect stairs/hallways/carpets, and there was no trace of them doing work after they left.

St. Croix Energy Solutions was prompt to provide a bid, and when we were ready for them to start, they were right there. They even made a special trip to spray the wall behind the shower so the plumbers could do their work (even though the plumber never showed up until much later), and came down and finished the work just as quickly as their other visit. They were very helpful in making us aware of all the rebates available to us. I would definitely use them again for any type of energy-related work we may need. It can be difficult to get a subcontractor to show up when you need them but this company rocked it on timeliness and reliability!

We live in West Central Wisconsin, in a 13 year old 2 story house (approx 4000 sq.ft.). I know that over time insulation settles and we wanted to make sure we stayed on top of it. Using Angies List, we found this company and called them out for an estimate. They came a few days later, took about an hour to thoroughly look above the second floor, and provide us with both a verbal and written thorough report (that included the estimate). Our current R value was about an R-40 and they raised it to R-60. The projected timeline was about 4 weeks out, not ideal, but definitely better than waiting another year. After a week, they called to say that a larger project was put off for a couple of weeks and wanted to come earlier. Worked out great, as they showed up 2 weeks earlier. The 2 guys that came were very polite, did an excellent job protecting the stairs and floors, and were in and out within 3 hours. We were very impressed with their attitude and also with the company's attitude in general. Great to work with! Another benefit was that we received an email the next day, explaining the results and also stating that it did not take as much as originally thought, so the price was dropped. Nice touch!

Very impressed with company. I scheduled energy assessment after reading Angie's Lists reviews. They definitely lived up to their "A" rating. They did a great job on all items performed and left the house meticulous! The energy assessment taught me so much about the house, very much worth it. Below is my actual email I sent to the company the day after work was completed - Hi Pete ? I just wanted to drop a note to say how great of a job that your team did at our house yesterday. The house was cleaner when we got home then we left! We were really worried about the trim work (would they damage walls or the trim itself?), we are beyond impressed with the care they took. I simply can?t say enough about the work they did. Please tell them thank you from us! Btw?the bath fan is awesome, such an upgrade!

Great job in planning, scheduling and executing. The quality of the work appears excellent. The clean up was spotless. The crew was great and easy to communicate with and we had no bumps or concerns. The staff prepared rebate forms on our behalf. They have also later contacted us about tax credit extension and given us proper paperwork.

Everything went very smooth. They also provided me with numerous rebate options so I ended up only paying a fraction of what it actually cost. I have already told a co-worker about this company and he is planning on calling them. After the energy audit was completed, i was a lot more aware of how to better insulate my home. Great company to work with!

They were very professional. They came in at the time they said they were coming. They went right to work. The work went smoothly and ended before their estimated ending time. They even came back out a couple of times to help touch up some areas and help with a particular problem area that air was leaking through. We finally stop the draft and we are very satisfied with the work that was done. Our house feels much more comfortable and we couldn't be happier with the change to our house. Thank you. One big advantage using St. Croix Energy Solutions Inc. was the fact that they are a part of a rebate program called Focus on Energy. Its a program with the state of Wisconsin and Excel Energy to help home owners, like myself, update the insulation in older homes to make them more efficient. Without this program our cost would have been closer to $2800.

The process went very well. We had contaced three companies. St. Croix Energy Solutions representative was by far the most knowledgable of the three. They were patient with our questions and once we hired them they scheduled the job, communicated effectively, did the job on time and well. We would definitely utilize St. Croix Energy Solutions in the future!

The estimator did a comprehensive review of our needs and pointed out many issues that other companies that were bidding had missed. A very detailed checklist of what had to be done was given to the crew and the job was inspected afterward. Our house is large and was built in 1962. Immediately after the job was done we noticed a big reduction in noise intrusion and for the following 3 weeks when temperatures plummeted consistently at night, the house maintained a temperature of at least 71 degrees with no heat needing to be turned on. The installation crew were experienced, courteous and knowledgeable. St. Croix helped us take advantage of the Focus on Energy and Xcel Energy rebates as well as other incentives, taking care of all the paperwork for us. We are very satisfied with St. Croix Energy's work and would recommend them to anyone, residential or commercial.

Pete was extremely punctual. He asked me to follow him throughout the inspection as it would have been very informative (indeed it was). You can tell he has a passion for this job. Not once he tried to talk me into buying his company's services, he always said "you can do it", "if you want to do this you should...". He explained clearly every single finding and he was realy honest answering my questions about solar panels, geothermal, changing water heater, and so forth. i received the quote and the price seems reasonable, plus it includes rebates from Excel Energy. The quote is valid for 90 days, which gives me plenty of time to ponder. It was a great experience. I recommend him.
