I wanted to remodel my kitchen and do as much work myself as possible. While I could handle the demo and installation of the new cabinets with confidence, I was less sure about some of the implications of opening up the wall that had divided the kitchen from the dining room. Specifically, the electrical/mechanical work that had to be done and I knew that I hate messing with drywall (mud is not my friend). I searched AL for contractors who could handle a wide range of work and also be willing to work with me as I DIY parts of the project (other kitchen remodelers I talked with won't do that). I had an excellent experience with Scott. This guy knows how to do just about everything and has a lot of experience doing kitchen remodeling. We agreed to a time and materials contract with an initial scope of work and we adjusted the scope as we went along. Started with me demo'ing the kitchen one weekend and Scott showing up on Monday to work on opening the wall. Scott recommended an approach that minimized the amount of drywall joints and ceiling texture that would be impacted and it turned out great and went really quickly. With that wall opened up, I had to relocate the existing wiring in that wall, and Scott was great at figuring out which wires were on which circuit and explaining what we could do that would be up to code and meet my needs in the new kitchen layout. He was also great with my gas line relocation. The existing line went to the wall that was opened up and didn't even meet code (had flex line running in the floor). Scott knew how to get the line up code while relocating where it entered the room and how to run it safely to the new location with black pipe. Scott also knew how to patch the subfloor and ceiling where the wall used to be. Scott even re-textured my ceiling with knock down that matches the rest of my ceiling. Installing the exterior vent for my new range hood also went really quickly. By having Scott work with me on so many different types of work, I know I saved a lot of money compared to hiring a separate carpenter, electrician, plumber, and drywall guy. It also saved me a lot of time as I only had to work with Scott's schedule instead of coordinating 4 guys. Scott is a handyman and has a lot of clients that need him to drop in for a small job here and there. Even so, he was able to commit a lot of time to this project and was always easy to get a hold of and very flexible with his time.

Scott is not only a precise finish carpenter but also a great guy. He gave a free estimate for the work. He worked within budget and with perfect results. There were several challenges where he needed to mate two different kinds of base moulding on a decline (small ramp.) He even built some custom fixtures. He exceeded our expectations in all areas.

Scott is a courteous and professional craftsman. He came, did the work quickly and correctly, cleaned up any mess, and was gone. All service work should go like this.

Scott was great to work with. Arrived as expected. Installed our whiteboard, security panel, and clock. An additional large whiteboard arrived while he was there, and Scott adjusted on the fly on installed it as well in a very timely manner. He also took all the trash with him as well, which was a pleasant surprised. We will work with Scott again for our next handyman tasks.

I placed a call to Scott about my project and he returned my call within a day - very prompt. I was able to schedule the work with him within a week of talking to him, which exceeded my expectations. This was a small job, but Scott was more than happy to help me out. The bathroom is small and the vanity and toilet were already installed (bad planning on my part), which made it more difficult to install the baseboard and trim. I live in an older home (built in 1923) so there were odd angles to deal with and the added issue of walls and floor not being straight/true. Scott worked around these constraints without any problem and did wonderful work. We had already cut some baseboard pieces in an attempt to do this work ourselves and although I had purchased new boards for him, Scott used some of the pieces that we already cut but hadn't completely ruined. He used good judgement with this - making sure that the job was done really well while not wasting material, which I greatly appreciated. Scott worked quickly and efficiently, was professional, polite, friendly, very knowledgable and his rates are more than reaonable. He even gave me tips and suggestions on how to finish some of the other work that I wanted to do myself (caulking and filling gaps in the tile flooring that I didn't like). I would absolutely have Scott back to do more work, and highly recommend him. Thank you Scott!

I found Scott's name on Angie's List and gave him a call. He came out and discussed what could be done. I bought a new fan and parts, and he was back out in a week and had the job done. It was a very hot day, and he had to work both on the roof and in the attic, but he did a very nice job and explained things whenever I asked a question. We have a new fan, and it is properly vented on the roof. The only reason I marked responsiveness as less than excellent was because he was to call me on a Monday, and I had to call him on Tuesday because I hadn't heard from him. He was still checking on the fans that would work, but I just picked up the one we wanted.

Scott is professional and does quality work. He is busy so it is hard to get a day with him but the results are worth it.

Scott does excellent work, he is more then fair with the price, he personable and he even liked my dog. The faucet went replacement went without any hitches, and I will definitely have him come over for bigger projects.

Scott does outstanding work. I have used used multiple handymen and companies throughout the years and Scott outshines all of them. He is very meticulous, knowledgeable and has many years of experience. It seems like he can do anything you ask of him. His completed work is outstanding! He did a great job! Everything he does is absolutely perfect and there is never anything wrong! If there is something not going right then he comes out within an hour as long as he is not on a job.

I believe he can do anything. He is always up to do any task that we give him. He cleans up after himself. He is wonderful and extremely polite.

Overall, the quality of Scott's work was excellent. It took a little longer than anticipated for him to complete the work, but he did a good job.

Scott was great to work with. He responded to phone calls quickly and worked us into his schedule. I wasn't quite sure what I wanted so I showed him some downloaded pictures of possible looks. He advised me on what would work best in the room and drew a sketch of the finished look. He dropped off several samples of trim to choose from and searched suppliers to find the type I wanted...for some reason,I always choose the most difficult one!! He brought the pieces over so we could paint them first which meant we didn't have to try to paint the trim without wrecking the rest of the walls!! He did a great job and cleaned up well. We love the final look. We will be using Scott for future projects...

He did a great job on everything that he did. He was very professional. He hasn't billed me yet. He told me $40 an hour but I'm not sure how long it took him. I had to call him quite a few times.

He has done a number of things on my home regarding woodworking, installing doors, and sinks. He also redid an entire bathroom. His work is just outstanding. I have been using Scott for a long time.

He was very thorough and very good. He is very flexible and anything you suggest, he is willing to do. When he was here doing my kitchen wall, I asked if he would be willing to put in a new medicine cabinet in my bathroom, and he said, "oh sure." When I brought home the medicine cabinet, it was narrower than the one I had, so he built around it so it doesn't show. He did a nice job and he does excellent work. I really depend on him and I trust him.
