Scott did the job quickly and professionally. In addition, the price was reasonable. The dog door works just as I'd hoped. I would use his services again.

He did a good job. Explained every step of the process. Fast, efficient and good price.

That was a year and a half ago. We talk to him all the time. We talk to him about what happened. He lives here nearly. Honestly, I would give him 'A's across the board continually. He doesn't charge us, for big stuff we pay him a lot, we pay him plenty. What he did for us was, we had a leak in the basement and what happened was, he and his son cleaned it all up. He charged us 60 dollars an hour and actually he put it in the insurance company as it needed to be done and he didn't. 60 dollars an hour and I said Scott are you sure, yes, that's what we charge. He is so honest. I can't say enough about him. He is like a member in this house. He is absolutely perfect, perfect. We have a funny dip in the house. We added a sun room in the kitchen which is not particularly right. So Scott said let's just, before you remove the front, we had damage in the first time and he took care of all that. He said let put those, I forget what you call them, those wire things you see on people's roofs and we didn't have one problem. If we need help for anything, like to get the snow off the roof on one particular side, he will come right after he is through his work. He just, is it okay if I come at 6:30 and it's sure, anytime is fine. My sister's had him, absolutely perfect. He did the same thing with her roof. He is very, I don't know how he can be so good at absolutely everything. There isn't a thing he can't do. We will use him for as long as he stays moving and is able to work. He is absolutely, there isn't a thing I call that he doesn't come and do. It might be a day later. He will say I am really busy right now, could I come tomorrow, sure. He is just very good, very good in anything that's been done. He just does everything you ask for. I couldn't put him any higher on the scales. We are both not in the best of health and I will be 60 at the end of month and he is 60. He has had like 5 back surgeries. I have had 8 surgeries in 7 years. He always asks, people know us, how you are doing. He is just an amazing man, very personable.

Today's work: installing new locks on my back door went very well. The old dead bolt lock required a much smaller hole in the door for that lock, After enlarging the hole in the door the new dead bolt lock was quickly installed.

I appreciated Scott's willingness to push some other work back in order to rescue me. I currently live in the basement apartment of my duplex and have only have 1 bathroom. The remodel that was supposed to be finished in a weekend wound up taking a month when all was said and done. However, it dragged out for weeks because after initially coming over quickly, he subsequently showed up even an hour late, or not show up at all, pushing me back a day or even a week because of his other work. The first job he did was installing floor tile with epoxy grout. He assured me he had experience with this, but he didn't fill the grout lines all the way and left it unfinished, even though there was another unopened container of grout to use. He also failed to measure the opening for the toilet, and cut the tile wrong. There is a large gap at the back of the toilet base on either side which he ended up filling with shiny caulk and it looks terrible. His offer to fix this was for me to buy a new toilet that is a different size, and he would not charge me to install it. I find that suggestion ridiculous. He installed the pedestal sink without leveling it, and it leans 3/4and quot;-inch to one side. He installed the tub/shower hardware without leveling that, so the shower rod coming up from the tub leans to one side, as does the tub faucet. He also assured me he would attach the ceiling bracket that supports the shower surround with the heaviest possible anchor, but he simply brought in a cheap plastic anchor which came loose in a month. Scott reattached the door trim, cutting it to account for the additional floor height with the new tile. However, he did not match up the angles at the top of the door and left a big gap. He also put new hinges on the door and reattached it, but didn't adjust it properly, so it always swings wide open when not latched. When he came to repair my water heater he told me it was no big deal, and shouldn't take more than 30-60 minutes. However, he stayed for several hours because he couldn't figure out how to drain the unit for quite some time. He finally got it to drain but it poured water all over my floor because he didn't have the drain hose attached, and I had to use good bathroom towels to mop it up. Then he discovered he'd forgotten the tool he'd need, so I had to run to the hardware store and buy one. I asked if he would replace my second floor toilet mechanism while I was gone so that he would have something to do, but when I returned I found he'd replaced the mechanism in the main floor toilet instead! He said, and quot;I opened it up and there was nothing wrong with it, but I replaced it anywayand quot; instead of calling to clarify. I had to buy another mechanism and pay someone else to replace the one that actually was faulty on the second floor. I found his work unsatisfactory, he forgot tools several times, and he still insists that I owe him money. Although he assured me that he guarantees his work, when I told him what needed changing along with detailed photographs, he did not respond. I have paid him $800 at this point which I feel is too much. It is going to cost me a lot to hire someone else to correct his mistakes, especially the floor tile. I have hired handymen from craigslist who did better work and charged half the hourly rate. Based on this experience I doubt I would use Angie's List again.

Scott and his sons removed popcorn ceilings, made needed repairs and completed knock down ceilings in our kitchen and dining room. Very happy with the end result! Clean up provided by Scott and his team was great!

Scott put a new French door in my kitchen, and did a very nice job. He also was able to put the old door on my season porch into an opening for an old window. Thanks Scott!

Scott was wonderful, came in and accommodated my schedule for stair carpet installation. Did a wonderful job! The best!

Scott did an excellent job of installing new baseboards in my dining room, foyer and powder room. He completed the job in 6.5 hours. I will be having him back to do other work.

the ceilings and patches look great. He was quick to respond, showed up when he said he would, was friendly and professional. His rates are reasonable. I will definitely use him again!

It is an outstanding company. The work that this gentleman does is superb and I highly recommend them. If you need an all around professional worker than he is your man. He can do it all. He is very knowledgeable.

Still hoping to hear from him but we think he might not call us back. I'm thinking of having my husband call and ask if it is because he is too busy right now or if he doesn't want the job we need to look for someone else.

My experience with him went very well; it was great. He did a good job. I was happy with the service. The job was done in a timely manner. He was here at the time when he said he would be here. The cost was reasonable. He cleaned up everything and there was no mess. There was no problem.

The quality of Scott Register Carpentry's work, the timeliness of him showing up, the value for the money, and his attitude and behavior are excellent. He is an excellent craftsman and I would recommend Scott Register Carpentry to anybody.

Our house was broken in and the door jamb smashed out and the door knocked off. Scott came over very quickly and help us rebuild the door jam so we could put in a new door. He came out quickly, dis a nice job at fixing the jam and was reasonably priced. I would definately use him again.

I called Scott and left him a message that I was interested in getting a quote on doing some work on our bathroom remodel. He promptly returned my call and indicated he was able to do the tasks I had (replacing a bathroom vanity and countertop, toilet and lighting), and he'd come over the following week to see the project. I had a hard time pinning down a day when he'd be over and when he did call me with a time, he said he'd be over in an hour. During our meeting I was impressed by his knowledge and skills and was very interested in getting his quote. he told me he'd get me the quote over the weekend. When I hadn't heard from him by Monday, I texted him and received a response (the following day) that he'd get me a quote by either Wednesday or Thursday. I finally received the quote, which was very reaonable, on Wednesday, but by this time I was frustrated by the delays in response and follow through, and decided to keep looking for a handyman.

He did a fablous job for me. It was a large window he took it apart and put it back together. I was out of the state and he sent pictures through out the process. He was resonably priced and always on time.

Contacted Scott and he came out to look at the unusual job of creating a ramp with handrails inside my garage to attach to concrete steps. Came up with a creative solution, purchased the materials and was ready to assemble them when I had an emergency that changed everything. Scott was gracious about me cancelling the job. I would certainly work with him again.

Mr. Register did three different jobs for me summer and fall of 2012. Some general home repairs- fixed some screens, patio door screen, soffit on porch, replaced and refinished an interior room door, and did some minor sheet rock repairs. Everything was done perfectly, he always called back and came when he said he would be here. These jobs took several visits, and the work was completed efficiently and reasonably. Then I needed some refinishing on my hardwood floors in trouble spots, floors were installed about 12 years ago. He was able to sand the areas, refinish and when the finish wasn't quite right, he immediately returned and worked at it until it looked just right. Really pleased with the floor repairs, it was difficult to get just right, but the floor looks like new. Mr. Register is always very professional and left no mess, reasonable charges. I will call him for any other home repairs I need, and recommend him highly.

We used the services of Scott Register Carpentry about a year ago. His services cost us $1000. He fixed about 12 basement windows. He has done a great work. He is a good guy to work with. We would like to use his services again in the future.

Scott was very easy to work with. He figured out what our problem was, came back when he had the right supplies, and finished the job nicely. The closet looks great and the doors work very smoothly.

Scott did a fabulous job removing the walls around our furnace and hot water heater. Then he figured out what needed to be done to hang a 32and quot; pot rack from our kitchen ceiling and re-used some of the boards from the wall he had just torn out. We are very happy with his work and will definitely use him again. He had estimated a couple of hours for each job, but ended up only spending 2 1/2 hours, so he only charged us for the hours he spent, which I appreciated very much! He is good at what he does so he is very busy and can be hard to reach, but keep trying - he's worth it!

the work was very nicely done once he was there. He is very busy and is therefore hard to get in touch with. Price is fair for the work. We were glad to finally get the work done and are happy with the finished product.

I found Scott on Angie's list and he seemed perfect for what I needed - in fact, so perfect that I am already using him again at my new house. We were getting ready to list our house for sale and needed a drywall ceiling in a bedroom to cover over an acoustical tile ceiling, and install crown moldings. I also needed to have door and baseboard trim reinstalled in a lower level after flooring was installed. Scott did a timely and quality job on this. In fact, two other Angie's list contractors (a painter and a handyman) both commented on the quality of his drywall work, and asked for his business card. Thanks to Scott's work and that of the other two Angie's list contractors I hired, we sold our house in 8 days. Now that we are in our new house, I have hired Scott for a number of projects - crown moldings, wainscoting, cabinet installation, closet and basement shelving, etc.
