VOSS' Treemendous Tree Service

Their prices were the best compared to the other tree services we looked at. They did a nice and neat job. Clean as a whistle. I'm very satisfied with the quality of their work.

Initial appointment setup was good. When I called to confirm they wanted to see if rescheduling was possible due to a truck maintainance issue. I told them I preferred to keep that date, and they made it work. Showed up on time. Worked quickly and efficiently. Did a great job with cleanup. They did forget to leave the wood chips, but came right back when I called.

It went great. They were on time and courteous for both the estimating appointment and on the day of the work. They needed to drive their lift truck across our lawn but took care to lay down plywood first. They managed to take down the Maple without damaging any of the surrounding trees or our shed. The stumps were removed and the debris was hauled away. All I have to do now is smooth out the ground and lay down some grass seed. They cleaned up the work area and even chipped some additional debris that was nearby. The Ash Tree looked much better after the trimming. We were delighted with the work and results.

I called Voss because I had used them before to grind out a stump. Dan showed up when he said he would to provide an estimate. We received the estimate that same day. Voss came back within 2 weeks, on the scheduled day, and completed the work. Everyone on the crew was very efficient and did their job in a professional manner. While the crew was taking down the evergreen trees, another guy was climbing in our maple trees to get them trimmed. Within 4 hrs everything was taken care of and cleaned up. When they were done, it was so clean and neat that it never looked like they were here. I would fully recommend Voss for any tree removal/trimming service.

Good crew of guys came in the fall and did the tree work. They did the work, cleaned up, and even took a few yard leaves with them as well. I was a little concerned with how one tree in particular looked when they were done; the owner came back and trimmed it up a little more, did some extensive pruning while he was here on that tree as well as another one, and gave some advice about a rather sick looking tree I have. He went way above and beyond to make the tree work satisfactory. I was very pleased.

Dan Voss called back the same day I contacted the firm, and came to give an estimate the next day. I asked for a "menu" to choose from, on whether to trim or remove trees, etc. He was very patient with my questions, offered advice on the best way to cut/trim the trees in question, and gave prices based on different options. He even offered tips on trees that weren't part of the quote. Of the representatives of the firms I had give estimates, he was by far the most helpful. Once I called to award the bid, the job was scheduled within 1 week. The 4-person crew that handled the job were prompt, industrious, polite, very proficient at their tasks, and left the yard in better shape than when they started. The job included felling 2 trees that were growing into wires between my home and my neighbor's and 1 growing near to a fireplace chimney, and the foreman of the job amazed me with the accuracy of the drops. The clean-up was begun instantly and all of the crew members took care to protect the lawn areas and other surrounding trees and shrubs. At my request, they even trimmed some branches on another tree that was not part of the bid. I was not charged for removal of minor branches. They cut the wood that I chose to keep into manageable "logs" and placed them conveniently for me. I was very impressed with this service from start to finish!

I had a tree on my property that was growing too close to the house and this tree removal service did a great job for me. I called them to set the appointment for the work and they came out a week later and did it all in one day. The experience turned out very well, the tree is gone and the property wasn't harmed. Their clean up was very good and their price was fair. I like them.

I handled the entire project over the phone, and I did not have to be home when the work was done.

We were very pleased overall. Chris was very responsive and flexible in setting up the appointment to provide the estimate. The crew worked constantly from the time they arrived. They were very thorough. Clean up was excellent. They even removed a pile of brush that we had at no extra charge.

We needed a tree service to take down a tree at a rental house in Whitefish Bay. The city gave us a tight deadline to get the work done. Voss returned our call very quickly and gave us a quote the next day. They were able to fit the job into their schedule and meet our deadline. I'd highly recommend Voss.

The first appointment had to be canceled because one of the guys was sick. The second appointment had to be canceled because an equipment failure. What I appreciated was that Chris (the owner) always called and kept me informed, I was never left hanging. The third times a charm. They came out and did a great job and did an outstanding job of cleaning up after themselves.

I found this service through Angie's list--contacted them, leaving a message which was returned the same day by Chris Voss. Chris came out within 2 days and walked through the yard for the estimate---actually recommended against some things I wanted to do and educated me on some issues with trees. He gave me the estimate the same day. I called back about a month later---and we set a date for the service. Unfortunately it rained the day of service and it couldn't be done but he rescheduled immediately and it was done as scheduled. Completely cleaned up to the point that we had been gone that day and didn't realize right away what had been done!

Chris Voss came the next day after my phone call to him for an estimate, and the work was finished 5 days later. Everything was done to my satisfaction, and all the yard, and driveway was thoroughly cleaned. Excellent service, and friendly staff.

I had Voss come out for an estimate on a full trim of a locust tree in my backyard. Originally, I thought they hadn't shown up, but later I found the estimate in the door. They were the best deal by far of all the estimates (3) that I obtained using other companies from Angie's List (one was as high as $700). The tree had a lot of dead branches (it was obvious it hadn't been trimmed in years), and a large limb was encroaching on a neighbor's roof line and maple tree. Some dead stuff was already falling out of it, so it needed a good clean-up badly. The workers showed up early, and got to work right away. They took out all of the dead, smaller branches in the lower canopy, and removed the large limb that was hanging over the neighbor's yard. They also arranged with the power company to have the drop-line to the neighbor's house temporarily taken down while they worked - I didn't have to mess with that part of it at all. The cleanup was spectacular. My yard looked better when they were done than it did before they started. They also cut up the limb for a small outdoor fireplace, just liked I asked. Everything was handled perfectly and in a timely fashion, from start to finish. I was very pleased!!

Team arrived promptly. Discussed the plan for the tree with me and worked very efficiently. Pleased with the results. Price was significantly lower than 6 other estimates and work was completed to my satisfaction. Would highly recommend this company.

I entered a request via the company's web-site on July 15, 2008, and received a call back from Chris within three hours. We met the next day, toured the yard and discussed the work that needed to be done. We signed a contract that day. Chris noted he would call a few days prior to the work being done, and he did that. On August 6, 2008, the work was completed in about two hours and forty minutes. Four crewmen arrived at the designated time period equipped with a bucket truck, chipper, climbing gear and a swinger, plus assorted hand tools. The foreman was courteous and they all worked in a professional manner. The yard was thoroughly raked and cleaned of debris. I am very satisfied with my experience with this company, especially since I have been disappointed with the professional advice, the service and the price of my previous tree service. Voss will be my service from now on!

Chris Voss came out for an estimate the same day I called. He gave me a quick quote, volunteering to remove a couple additional small stumps I had already cut. He made the arrangements with WE Energies for the power lines. On the agreed morning,everyone was there at the agreed upon 8:30am, the wires came down, the Voss bucket truck was moved in and in short order the Mulberry was down and shredded, the large Walnut was brought down while the stumps were being ground and leveled. Although the Walnut hung over a neighbors yard, it was all done with minimal disturbance to their property, using rope to control the drop of large limbs back to our area. It was amazing to watch the efficiency with which the crew functioned. Everything was cut shredded, stumps ground, leveled and packed up by 10:45am. I could ask for nothing more.

Excellent, Chris called me to tell me when they would be coming out, and when I got home from work that evening, the tree was gone. Very happy with the work!!

They are prompt. We called them and they showed up the same day. They looked at all the trees and told us what they would do. The maple tree was very close to the house and they did a wonderful job. Their estimate was right on with what they charged.

Quoted with two services. Both quotes were approximately the same but the guys from Voss were very helpful and personable. Took time to answer the questions we had and to talk over all of our options.

They were recommended to me by someone else that had used them and had been very satisfied. I called them and the man that came out to give the estimate was very nice. The crew that came out to do the work was also very nice.

They did an excellent job! They contacted the power company to have the power line disconnected, and used a cherry picker to get at the ash due its location. I had asked my neighbors if they could use their driveway and side yard to access the tree. Voss was very careful about not doing any damage to their lawn or ours. They got the job done in a few hours with a 3 man crew. The most awesome aspect was the cleanup! They did a great job. Unfortunately the power company took 3 hours to return and reconnect the power, Chris called them back several times but could not get them to commit to a estimated time. Not Voss's fault at all though, monopoly utility companies don't have much incentive to provide good customer service.

They did all this work in one day! Even my neighbors were impressed and watched him do the work, noting they would like to hire him for future work. They were just wonderful to work with. I would use them again for future service and would recommend them to others.
