Jim Jendusa came to my property on 8/8/17 and spent approximately an hour onsite inspecting the garage. I needed a report to plan for a remedy to construction issues and potentially for litigation purposes. Prior to his departure he indicated that I would likely receive the report at the end of the following week. Two weeks went by and I called inquiring as to the status of the report. No call back and nobody in the office could tell me when I’d receive it. Called the office, emailed him directly and called his personal cell phone and left messages several times over the next 2 mos and never received a response. Five months later and I still don’t have a report and have never received the courtesy of a response. Highly unprofessional and rude. I would NEVER recommend this company. Even the attorney who referred me is frustrated.
Description of Work: I was referred to Jendusa by an attorney who handles construction litigation. I needed an assessment/inspection and report on a garage construction project.

I had 2 men here, one was newly hired and in training. The basement was evaluated, questions were asked on the history of the basement. I advised work was being done, having the drive mud jacked just before he arrived and explained other areas will be addressed as well this year. Measurements were taken of the basement and a report was created. I inquired about the attic area as it is complex with 4 cathedral areas separated by traditional attic. Information given on the attic was limited. The final report was for the basement only. He added costs for areas that need to be addressed such as soil grading to the small area in front of our home where it was just mud jacked. The cost was estimated over $1000 and the patio area that we were going to have mud jacked the cost estimate was over $5000. These estimates were extremely high as we had both areas done shortly after as stated, for under $2000. The time here was less than 1.5 hours. They were very pleasant, very quick to schedule and very professional. The basement was deemed structurally sound. Very reassuring to us to hear and have documented.
Description of Work: House wide inspection while he was here to evaluate the basement primarily, I had asked if he could evaluate the entire home and was told he would.

Someone replied to our email saying we should contact their office. we were given their office number and Someone's cell number. My husband called the office number and a very rude person answered saying The person we were looking for wasn't there. She said leave a message and he will call back. Still waiting on that call. It's been days and no call. So I don't have a review of their work just their customer service.

We hired a structural engineer even after our home inspector said he didn't notice anything about the wall. Due to FHA financing, the under writer wanted to see a report about the structural report, due to us writing that in as a contingency on a home offer. It went well. It was completed in an hour. The engineer was thorough and explained everything in an understanding way. He gave the pros and cons about the support wall structure and saved us from buying a home that would need structural improvements! Highly recommend for those who are in need of a second opinion.
Description of Work: The structural engineer came out to do an inspection on a support wall between garage and home (attached garage). He took measurements and cut a few holes into the the drywall to see if the beams were properly secured to the ground. He gave a report on the spot since all we wanted to know if the wall was properly supported.

They were able to get into our home quickly to give us a structural report of the basement. We needed this information quickly as we were in the process of selling our house and many buyers were questioning the 100+ yr old basement. They were able to schedule us sooner than we thought which was fantastic. At this point I would have given them an and quot;Aand quot; rating. However, we told him we specifically needed the report electronically because we had already relocated out of state. When we didn't have the report after a few days we followed up with phone calls but did not hear anything back. About a month afterward the report was recieved in the mail. Long after necessary. At this point, we had a buyer and no longer needed the report. Regardless, we paid for the services provided.

Jendusa rep arrived on time. Did have to punch several tiny holes in finished drywall in the basement. I my case the bulging wall was not severe, and a longer inspection period was not needed. Inspection and fix were quite straightforward. They gave me and basic idea of the type of fix I was up against, and a list of contractors with experience of that type of repair. When time came to select a contractor I did my research based mostly on Angie list and on looking at those contractors which had experience with steel beam reinforcement of block walls. Subsequent fix was fully and easily passed by the local, strict building inspectors here in Shorewood.
Description of Work: Evaluation of basement/foundation wall. I was looking for a professional, independent evaluation of my bulging basement wall. A friend suggested Jendusa. A phone call to them suggested I would get the desired evaluation with the stamp of a professional engineer applied. In fact that is what I got...a nice looking, reasoned evaluation, written up and looking pretty, with PE stamp. It turns out that Jendusa has long experience with the steel beam fix that was most applicable to my situation.

The engineer appeared knowledgeable and competent. The report was what we needed to proceed in our real estate transaction. There was miscommunication with the engineer about the time-frame that we needed this report completed for our real estate transaction. When arranging the appt (and after discussing with the inspector at the appt), we were under the impression we would get the report in 1-2 days. We got the report the following week. Wouldn't have been a big deal, except we had a deadline approaching in our own real estate contract. The price was higher than anticipated. They stated they charge $150 per hour and they also charge for drive time.
Description of Work: I was buying a house and noticed that there was rust on one of the steel I-Beams in the basement. I hired Jendusa to complete a structural engineering inspection report of this beam for use in my real estate transaction. They completed the report, which included repair recommendation to reinforce the beam and replace a steel column. The report listed a cost estimate of the recommended repairs.

The estimated time spent performing the assessment, writing it up, trravel time and estimated cost were all head-on. I had made his job easier by moving furniture and other items away from the basement walls so he had a better view of anything that may have been of question. He spent about 45 minutes inspecting the basement, prior to which he had asked if we had any specific concerns (we did, and he addressed them appropriately). He wrote out and went over his findings with us. Additionally, he provided a lot of information on various contractors and Q and A information. We were very pleased with his assessment of our basement. It allowed us to have an independent outside opinion on what was wrong (and what was right) with the structural integrity of our basement. This allowed us to proceed with procuring estimates with an educated understanding of what was needed. We know that it saved up at least $10.000. We would highly recommend Judusa to anyone needing an independent assessment of their basement's structural integrity.
Description of Work: We required a structural engineer to professionally assess the status of the walls of our 109 year old house (in Milwaukee). We knew we needed repairs to portions of the basement, but were not entirely certain as to what needed to be done, or to what extent the problems (primarily leakage of water into the basement after heavy rains and occasionally during the spring snow thaw). The basement walls were inspected (they are a double course of cream city brick), the glass block windows, as was the access through the bilco door (outside entrance to the basement found primarily in older homes), both inside and out.

The engineer provided a detailed report of work that needed to be done to bring my home foundation up to standards. The report included a independent cost estimate. I was able to use this report to tell if the contractors I had give me estimates were being honest or not.I recommend Jendusa Engineering, it gave me confidence in dealing with contractors.

The Jendusa engineer inspected the structural soundness of the foundation walls and also the causes of the water damage/issue. He recommended bracing the walls in a few places (because they had moved) and installing a drain tile system to fix the water leakage. He also took measurements of the basement and documented everything in detail in a written report.

I was mostly fine with it although, I did have some disagreements. The guy I hired did a thorough job. He gave a thorough report. There was a judgment about some of the cracks along the basement. He suggested that be treated in a certain way and I had a difficult time supporting that. However, there was not any fix. He just did a little work here and there himself and I was just looking for a comprehensive report about what exactly it was going to be. There was one part of this report that was avoidably generalized. I disagreed with that. They charged us for the analysis. I hired him specifically because he was a certified structural engineer and he stamped his report so. I supported everything he did except there were some situations when he wanted to build around the house or change the floor plan of the house. It appeared to be just impossible to do anything with it. Also, he prescribed sealing a crack or dealing with an area of the basement that did not appear to me. We restructured 75% of the basement or more and I just felt that he did not even care that we were closing up the basement raise. I had to call them back a couple of times and they were responsive. I felt like we needed more of a dialogue upon their points so I feel their professionalism had to be better. If he would spend more time on going over with plans, I would probably use him again.

I talked to someone from there. They were very nice, but we talked about the price. They were honest. I told them about the problem we were having and they gave an honest answer and said for them to come out it would cost X and for each hour they are there it would cost Y and to do something like that it would be Z, and based on what I told them about my house it is probably fine. For them to know for sure they would have to come out. He didn't see it as an opportunity to come out and take advantage of me. That's an honest person.
