The work was done efficiently and promptly.

The furnace looks clean but I was disappointed that the home inspector was the one to point out that the filter was too big and that it was in backwards. Would have thought the guy who does this every day would have notice this and at least said something. Makes me wonder what else he missed.

Came same day, explained everything in everyday language and fixed the unit, again, explaining what was happening. Really, a good experience.

Does exactly what I needed it to do.

Our gas log fireplace was not turning on so I checked to see who in the area serviced gas log fireplaces. I noticed that Black-Haak also serviced furnaces. Since we had not had the furnace serviced for a few years I decided to take care of both issues at the same time. The repairmen arrived at the appointed time and serviced the furnace and repaired and serviced the gas log fireplace. Both are working fine now.

They are A across the board. They are there whenever I call.

We received four separate estimates to have this work done. Black-Haak was not the cheapest but they were within $25. Black-Haak easily had the best written proposal which clearly explained everything they were going to do. I had a couple of clarifying questions for them which they promptly answered. I was impressed with their attention to detail in writing up the proposal. They were very prompt and clean which is important to us. A couple of days after the installation was completed I thought I smelled gas in the basement. It was not significant or dangerous and I kept forgetting to contact them. A week after the install they actually contacted me just to make sure I was satisfied with all of the work done. I responded to them after hours via e-mail and phone letting them know about the leak. They responded to my e-mail first and setup a technician to be on-site the next morning. The technician found a small leak at one of the connections and made all the necessary repairs. I was quite impressed with how Black-Haak runs their business. They are competitive, courteous and professional. I gave them a 'B' on quality only because they missed the gas leak on the initial installation.

We called Black-Haak and a couple of other heating contractors for estimates. The representative from Black-Haak came by, assessed our energy needs, listened to what we wanted, and was very professional. Work was done on the days promised. The workers were neat and clean as well as professional and polite. Black-Haak followed up when the work was done to make sure we were satisfied. We were very satisfied! I wanted to to make sure that both furnace and air conditioner worked before writing a review. They work beautifully. The only problem is they are so quiet. It's hard to tell when they are on.

Last year, we needed to replace the furnace , water heater and air conditioner. They installed these items and it was expensive. This year we received a mailing that they would be doing a "free" furnace inspection valued at $134.95 as a special furnace birthday gift to honor the furnace's one year birthday. I called to set up an appointment and was told that the air conditioner also needed its annual inspection at the same time or the warranty would not cover any future repairs to either the furnace or air conditioner. This cost was not free and was $129.95. This alone would have been more than most companies charge for both inspections, so nothing was ever "free" here. After hearing this bait and switch, I was pretty p***** and decided then and there never to deal with company again. I talked to the owner and he indicated he was doing his customers a "favor" when he offered this. Who spends this kind of money for new heating and air conditioning units and then has to spend nearly $300 a year to get them inspected? (and parts, if needed, would be extra at inflated prices!!) A total rip-off. The owner was a real piece of work. Avoid this company at all cost. They will install and service the items, but you will pay through the nose.

Very professional and fast service.

Very friendly and professional service. Answered all questions were prompt (even 5 minutes early, but this was the first appointment of the day) A little more expensive than some other heating services in the area, but they are honest and do a good job. I have used them for the last several years now and have not had any issues or complaints. They also do offer a cheaper check-up service, but I don't remember what all is included. I had a discount as they actually had installed the furnace in this house prior to me living here.
