On Monday 12/7 I had a broken water pipe connected to the water meter, and I called this company. It charges $99 service fee which is much higher than the regular fee (~$65). When the technician came and found out the pipe below the water meter is cracked and water throws out. He told me that he needs to replace the broken pipe and add two valves on the each side of water meter. The estimate he gives to me is $492.00. So with $99 service fee, the total cost is like $600. This is a very typical plumbing job; the charge is way too much! I found another company to fix the issue with total $350. I complained the cost is too expensive, the technician then said he can lower the price like about $50 and also told me that I can get some $20/$30 discounts I can get from its website. I feel that they are not honest to me and tried to overcharge me. I decided not to hire them to fix it. Still I was charged the $99 just for like 10 min checkup. It is really unpleasant experience! I really do not recommend this company to others

Description of Work: Absolute Plumbing is an ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE! Our basement flooded and we called Absolute Plumbing to come out and change the sump pump. Upon arrival we were told the sump pump was fine but there was too much water for the pump to handle and it wouldn't make a difference if he changed the pump. We told the plumber we wanted a new one anyway - it was 6 yrs old. He said he didn't have time. His temporary fix was to re-route the sump pump exit pipe; he said he would change the sump pump when he came back to fix the pipe. The basement continued to flood all day. Servicemaster showed up that evening to extract the water at which time they asked why we didn't have a new sump pump. We said we were told we didn't need one. Servicemaster said we needed a new one ASAP! I had to force Absolute to come back and change the pump out. The plumber I talked to was completely irritated and tried telling me that it was unnecessary (over the phone) that the previous plumber said we didn't need one. He reluctantly showed up after I forced him and changed out the pump. Interestingly enough, the water began receding immediately. Next morning - 2nd FLOOD! We thought we had too many fans running to dry the basement so Servicemaster re-routed all of the fans upstairs via extension cords. Next morning - flood! The THIRD FLOOD! We called an electrician who saw the sump pump was plugged into the GFCI outlet verses the non-GFCI outlet (we had both side by side). The pump was running so much the outlet kept popping. When we called the owner he was so completely rude, unapologetic and unprofessional and then demanded payment for his services! He caused our basement to flood 2 times! I called several plumbers and asked the question - "I have 2 outlets by my sump pump, one is GFCI and the other is non-GFCI; which one should I plug the sump pump in to?" Without fail, they all said the non-GFCI because the GFCI could pop. Even the city inspector said it was a common sense error but within code. Unfortunately, none of them would testify to that. I guess there is no code against common sense which left us owing thousands of dollars to Servicemaster. |Follow-up - Our basement flooded again last week, 3 months later. The float switch on the brand new sump pump got hung up on something. The new plumber I hired said he doesn't know why anyone uses that type of float switch. Absolute Plumbing has cost me literally thousands of dollars not to mention the pain and suffering of having my newly finished basement ruined. WE lived in our house for 6 years without incident and because we called Absolute Plumbing, we ended up with 4 floods in 3 months.
