Nies Custom Services replaced our slate roof with a new maintenance free steel shingle roof on our house. Marilyn came to our home and gave us a complete, detailed estimate and stated exactly what their workers would be doing. They did the work on the dates as stated, Their workers are very hardworking and conscientous. They took their time and did a very neat and great job. We can not say enough compliments on how pleased we are with the job they did. I would recommend them to any one!!!

We found them online. They have great collection and we like the way that they have many pictures and so the mantle itself that we ordered was very true-to-life so that was great and the prices were great. We like the mantle so much that we ordered another. They're just beautiful pieces and I like that it's reclaimed wood. They were very prompt, they ship it right out, so as soon as we placed the order, it went right out and arrived on time. Price is really good. Relative to other pieces that we're seeing and other mantles online and here in the Seattle area, they were like half the cost, I think.

Love the work that Nies Custom Services does! We have a beautiful roof on our house that will last a lifetime! They did a great job! The workers were very professional and did a fabulous job cleaning up the job site each day. Did not need to worry about anything. Also did a wonderful job presenting our roofing options prior to the job. Pricing was right in line for the quality of the job and materials! A couple years earlier, they also replaced a window on the second story of our house including matching the woodwork to our existing woodwork. Did a great job and again, everything was cleaned up superbly! Love this company!

I had Nies come in to give me an estimate. The woman that actually presented the estimate was very knowledgeable, professional and I think she truly believes in her products, however the price was twice what my other estimates came in at. They came in over $10,000 without any resheeting-which she stated that they didn't believe I would need but if I did, it would be extra--I did need a small area resheeted. It should be noted that they are located approximately 40 miles from my house so they were somewhat out of the area and would have extra drive time but my roof was done in 2 days so it shouldn't account for a ton of extra cost although I believe Nies did think the job would take 4 days. The company that did my roof (they will be getting a great review) charged me $5500.00 with an additional cost not to exceed $1500 for resheeting. I needed 1 4x8 section of resheeting and my total bill was $5530.00. The company that did my roof was actually not the lowest quote, but I had them do work previously and was very happy so I went with them again.

Their estimate was higher but they have a lifetime guarantee on their roof and they only use one brand of shingle. So if your willing to pay that price, then at least you will have a roof for life. But in our situation we didn't need that and decided not to got that direction. I could tell they were super busy as we had significant hale damage in the area. They did come out sooner rather than later and did tell me I had an inferior shingle and that we could file a claim for as there was kind of like a recall. So that was good and and they were informative in that way. They seemed very knowledgeable and they took their time and walked around. They did offer to come back a week later to have a sit down with me and go over the estimate but I was unable to meet and so they sent everything to me in the mail which is fine. One thing is that they do not offer a lot of options or choices. I would rate them overall an A.

Nies construction is an excellent definition of the professionals among the roofing profession. I am a licensed home inspector and I have been on many roofs that have been poorly done by owners and roofing wanabees. When I first contacted them they told me they were already booking out to the end of June. When they came to do an estimate and inspect the roof they declared that "you need a roof right now!" They adjusted their schedule and made time to replace our roof the next week. Nies construction is most deserving of their A+ rating.

Joel was great in explaining what was wrong with the roof and what they needed to do to fix it. They did what they said they were going to do quickly. It was a great job done and no more leaks.

Nies came over the next day after I called. Gave me an estimate and explained what needed to be done. It was too cold in the season to actually repair the roof this winter, so they patched up my roof for the winter and put me first on the list to repair for this spring. They put on a new roof last week. There was a lot of damaged/rotted wood. They did the repairs to the wood, put on the new roof and helped me with some leaks I had around some of my windows. It's been raining since and I haven't had any problems. I'm very happy with the job.

They are extremely professional and knowledgeable. They carry a good line of quality products.

Nies stopped by while I was at work and later gave me a call to tell me that I only needed minor work done. I talked it over with my husband and we called Nies back. They stopped by and completed the maintenance work, which took less than 30 minutes. They sent me a bill for less than what they had originally estimated because it took even less time than they had originally figured.

We contacted several contractors, including one big-box store, to obtain estimates to have our roof replaced. We knew that this would be a big job. Our house is a 100+ year old, 3 story Victorian with a challenging roof line, including a turret. Several contractors I had contacted I would see arrive at the house, but then see them only slow in front of my house- or park across the street- stare at the house, and then drive off! It took us almost 2 years to get 3 bids! The big box store bid came in the highest, as it was explained a special crew would need to be brought in from Chicago to do the job. The lowest bid was a local, small contractor whose bid would include some do-it-ourselves work. Nies was the middle bid, just below the big box store- but what made them stand apart was clear understanding of the complexity of the job and they had all the proper equipment to do it efficiently and safely. (Safely includes not having to go up on the roof to do any of the work ourselves!) Added to that, Marilyn and Joel were amazing to work with. They understood what we wanted immediately and we got exactly the unique scallop style, lifetime asphalt shingle that we wanted even though its heavy and harder to work with, Further, they patiently helped us determine the best roofing choice for the turret. After deciding against metal (which Nies can do), Marilyn searched the net to find a referrals for an artisan to construct a new decorative, copper turret cap. We used the referral she found and were delighted with the choice. All of this required a lot of planning and scheduling- and Nies always responded immediately whenever we contacted them with questions. The job started when they said it would start and ended a few days earlier than planned. Joel personally installed the asphalt roofing on the turret, as each shingle needed to be trimmed exactly right to follow the circular curve and slope. He worked meticulously for 3 days on the turret while his crew banged out the less complex parts of the job. He and his crew also installed the new turret cap and finial-- AND installed a ring to clip a harness onto when we need to be on the roof or roof-edge to string Christmas lights, etc. To top it all off, before Joel and his crew left the site, they went around the house with their lift equipment and touched up the trim with our house paint! Unreal! It looks fantastic! We could not have had a better experience with Nies. In terms of expertise, professionalism and service, Nies is the real deal!

Best experience with a contractor we've ever had! Can't say enough good things about this company. Exceptional service, attention to detail, and looked out for our best interest the entire project. The work site was cleaned up every night, and after the project perfectly. Great price, service, and the work is impeccable. I would highly recommend them and will use them again in the future.

I live in a very windy area in a house that is 10 years old. In early summer I noticed a few shingles on my lawn. After looking on Angie's List I had the numbers of some local contractors. The first guy to look at my roof gave me a prompt estimate...$6500 for a new roof. Did I mention my house is only 10 years old? The second estimate I got was from Nies Custom Services. They showed up and asked what I was looking for. I told them I thought I just needed the roof repaired, I didn't think I needed a new roof. One of their guys said he would run up and take a look. After checking it out for a few minutes he came back down and said we didn't need a new roof. They could replace the missing shingles and tar down the loose ones for $300! Within a few days another worker showed up and did the repair in a couple of hours. They said I should get another 20 years out of the roof. Honesty and prompt service. What more could you ask for? I highly recommend them!!

Our extremely rainy early summer weather gave me adequate evidence that our 20 year old roof was in need of replacement. Incorporated in that roof were two skylights that it made sense to upgrade at the same time. A garage access door had also deteriorated to the point where action was needed. There was an accumulated list of small trim items that needed maintenance as well. I contacted Nies Custom Services based on an Angie's List recommendation and the information available on their web site. My email inquiry was answered the same day, and an evaluation visit scheduled. Marilyn visited and took measurements for the roof estimate and then returned the next day with Joel to answer additional questions. A fair and reasonable quote was generated and accepted, and a tentative work date approximately six weeks later was scheduled. Good contractors are busy and have to operate on a lead time. Communication (by email) was effective. Marilyn kept me informed and posed questions as they arose to smooth the process. The work was accomplished ahead of schedule - four plus days were estimated and the work was completed beyond my expectations in three. The crew was efficient and friendly, and tolerated my presence and curiosity. They have a happy customer.

Called for estimate, which was given promptly after initial visit (week after contact). Product was explained, along with all work to be done. Sample of the product and installation was shown. Quote was written up and mailed right away. Once the worked was started, which was within 4 or 5 weeks, I was very impressed with the crew, the fact they had the right equipment, and the fact that they cleaned up daily before leaving, Any questions I had were answered and the job was completed pretty close to the timeframe quoted (1 weather delay). Communications was great and I was more than happy with the end result.
