Description of Work: I was in the market for a chaise longue and wanted to use a local company. Bilt Rite seemed to have a reputation for using local and region manufactures. After my experience, I would prefer to work with a different company. | |The company is set up so you cannot simply pick out what you want and have someone ring it up for you. You need to work with a salesperson. | |I told the salesperson what I wanted and was shown the two chaise longes they carried and the colors available. Note, I had my mother with me because I value her opinion. The chaise lounge was $390. My mother an I wanted to look at some of the other furniture for down-the-road decorating ideas. | |Needless to say the salesperson immediately resorted to numerous high-pressure sales tactics. These tactics are transparent to me and generally aren't an issue with me, but he used my mother's optimism as leverage. "Oh you want this," "you gotta have that," "you couldn't afford this," "you can finance this," et cetera. | |I think the thing that bothered me the most was the attempted close of the salesperson which was something to the effect of, "[you can walk outta here tonight with $30,000 of furniture with no money down and no payment 'til next year.]" | |I replied - for no less than the 5th time - that this wasn't a decision I was going to make at this time, and that I would need to look at my long-term finances. | |The salesperson replied: "Decision? There is no decision." | |Of course, at this point, there was no need whatsoever to be polite. That, of course, negated the "discount" I was offered earlier on the chaise longe. By the end of the experience I was just happy to be out of there. | |For what it's worth, save yourself the aggravation and don't use this company.

Description of Work: Hi, | |We purchased a sofa and love seat combination with a wedge piece of furniture that gives a circular shape to the set. My wife and I looked at a number of places before we made a decision. Bilt Rite seemed to offer the best value for what we wanted. We did go on a busy day (an employee had passed away) and things were hectic. We left, but came back a few days later and we got excellent service and assistance. The person was very helpful and solicitous of our needs. The set is now in our home and we are very pleased with it. We would consider using Bilt Rite again, and are planning to stop there within the next month. If they again offer a good value, we have no problem doing business with them. The only problem was with the delivery, and this is not really Bilt Rite's fault directly. The delivery driver was rude and not at all customer friendly. He seemed to just want to dump off the furniture and get going. We had spent thousands of dollars and expected better service fom the delivery people. The logistics of delivery were very easy. The item came in a wide front door and was put right in the front room. The driver was reluctant to attach the three pieces and we had to ask him to do it twice. I waited awhile to write this report and was not sure if I was going to comment on the delivery. But, after considerable thought, I felt it was important to do so. If we had received a survey from Bilt Rite asking about the delivery and sales process, I would have just put my comments there. Again, I stress tha Bilt Rite really did an excellent job and we are pleased with the furniture and will shop there again. However, because of the attitude of the driver, we did have to downgrade the report to a B. With the exception of the driver (the helper was very friendly), we had a very positive experience.

The sales process went very smoothly and professional. After the sale, I made repeated calls to the store to find out when the furniture would ship and be closer to a delivery date. Person in charge of checking on orders and talking with customs was a bit less professional than other employees. Did not always return phone call promptly.

THEY POINTED OUT THE IMPORTANT THINGS TO LOOK FOR IN PURCHASING A CHAIR. THEY ALSO EXPLAINED HOW THE CHAIRS WERE CONSTRUCTED. THEY WERE THE MOST KNOWLEDGEABLE OF THE OTHER STORES IN THE AREA. THAT MADE A GREAT IMPRESSION ON US. THE OTHERS COULDN'T COMPARE. WE EVEN RECEIVED A LETTER THANKING US FOR OUR PURCHASE. GREAT EXPERIENCE.
