The contact person, Steve Doroff, was courteous and friendly throughout. But some of his subcontractors leave a lot to be desired. The man who installed the bathroom vent fan left a huge mess all over the floor, tub, toilet and counters. We are still cleaning up plaster bits in the bathroom. The timing and planning of the floor projects was also very poor. The living/dining room floor refinishing went fine and looks very nice. In fact it looked so nice that we contacted Steve about the feasibility of moving out large kitchen appliances over it in preparation for the kitchen floor to be done. He assured us that the subcontractor could work on the kitchen floor even with the appliances in there - that he would just move them around as needed. So we got busy and emptied the refrigerator, removed the doors, emptied the oven storage drawer, and moved out numerous other items. The linoleum subcontractor came and took one look at our tiny kitchen and refused to do the job when he came. We finally got him to agree to return on (9-10) and bring carrying straps to carry all the kitchen appliances out over the new dining room floor. And we put our kitchen back together again. Again we emptied the frig, removed the doors, emptied the oven and moved out the other stuff. The subcontractor called at 9 AM that morning when we were waiting for him and said that his vehicle was in the shop. What in the world kind of customer service is that? He assured us that he would come again and another date was set (9-17). And we put our kitchen back together again. In preparation for the big day this time we also disconnected the dishwasher and moved it outside, emptied the refrigerator, removed the doors, emptied the oven storage drawer, and moved out the other items. The subcontractor actually showed up and when asked about who was going to help him move the appliances, he left in a huff. Steve Doroff agreed with us today (9-19) that we could cancel the job from the contract and ithat J&J would "eat" the costs of the materials purchased for the botched kitchen floor installation. But the hours and effort of preparing the kitchen 3 different times has been draining to say the least - and we don't even have a new kitchen floor to show for it. I'm worn out just writing this down!

It went quickly; i.e. less than a week. Workmanship was excellent, and the crew was very good about cleaning up after themselves; they were careful to minimize damage to shrubbery and matbe most important is that we found very few roofing nails on the ground once the job was done. Please be aware there will always be left over nails. You as the homeowner have to be diligent about following up the work with a careful inspection around your house to gather as many of the left overs as possible.

I originally contacted J&J contractors because of their radio commercials and their high review rating on Angies list. My initiial consultation meeting was supposed to be 7/24/14 at 6pm with Steven Dokoff. 50 minutes after our appointment time Steven called me and let me know he was running late and he would be at my house in 12 minutes. We looked at the remodeling projects I wanted done, and then scheduled an appointment for 1 week later 7/31/14 at 6pm to go over the quote. Steven also promised me that he would be more punctual for our 2nd meeting. The date and time of our 2nd appointment arrived but Steven from J&J did not (again) this time there was no call, and he did not show up at all. There was no quote provided in person, by email, or by mail. I am very disappointed in how unprofessionally I was dealt with. I wasted 2 nights of my time waiting. I would never use J&J based upon my experience even if I was provided a quote, and I would highly deter anyone from using this company based upon their level of unprofessionalism!

Things went well. They're very good. I would recommend them. They're responsive, their price and they did a good job. The price was fair. They showed up on time.

we hired j&j contractors to perform roof shingle replacement, new gutters, and siding of soffits and fascia. we were told 1-2 days to complete the job at hand, on the 3rd day I come home from work and still no gutters on the house, my wife contacts j&j and is told that they forgot to order the material for the gutters and they should be installed by the end of the following week. nobody from j&j called to inform us, we had to call them to be told of there mistake. they did try to make amends by offering to send us a gift certificate for dinner which I consider an insult. plus they still have not removed the dumpster from my driveway, which being a holiday weekend I would have to assume it will be an eye sore for the weekend, plus they did leave me a quarter stack of shingles on my front porch. must not have had time to remove them with the holiday. overall very poor customer service, and now I wonder what else they forgot to do or order and just covered up with the roof

They were wonderful. They were able to keep the area clean the entire time. I never had to worry about the cost or length of the project. They even sent us a Christmas Card for a free pizza. We will be having them out to do out screened in porch.

Good! I like the owner for he is professional. They completed everything within budget.

Their quote was very high. They were very nice, and responsive, but the price was too high.

They were attractive contractors and they were efficient and aggressive in keeping my business. Let me share a quick experience. I had a huge, whole house remodelled, from the roof down to the foundation, we barely left the exterior wall standing. I got a quote from J&J's for doing the roof. Their quote was fair but we did not end up going with them. We ended up going with some other companies. I was general contractor myself for the project. I called them back to see if they would do some siding and I was told by one of their reps that since we didn't want them for the first part of the job, they would not work with us for the second part of the job. Then after that they sent somebody to work on a different part, an interior job that had a lot of trim and nineteen doors were installed. they sent somebody else to do that so I was getting mixed messages from J&J's. They were super professional, but I think maybe their sales rep or their owners or whoever calls the shots, said "We are interested, no we are not interested, we are too busy, and then now we are interested again." So we never did any single contracts with them. They were very thorough, very professional and the sales people they sent out to my house to take measurements were insightful and creative, clearly experienced and knowledgeable but we just couldn't seem to get the contracts to line up. The last time we contacted them was in December. They wanted about fifteen thousand dollars for the roof for a house of twenty eight hundred square feet or three bedroom, three bathroom house. For the interior work it was to install doors, install window trim and baseboard trim, I think that's it. That was in the fourteen to fifteen thousand dollar range and it included buying and installing the doors. That was labour and materials. I contacted for the roof this summer and for the doors in November.

Qaulity installation and value for work completed.

Jason called on Dec 30 to cancel an appointment for Jan 2, 2014 that had been scheduled the prior week. He said he needed to go over things to make sure it was work he would do. Bottom line was he was not interested in providing an estimate for work on a home I did not yet own. He said he had spent too much time and money doing estimates that that bank would later decided they would not finance. I reminded Jason that on Angies' List he said he did free estimates and he said he would only do an estimate if I would pay him for his time.

I was very pleased with the service. J&J personnel were really nice to work with, and they did good quality work. I liked how they worked with me to keep the costs down, although I ended up upgrading my countertop because I found one I really liked that was a little more through the granite supplier. J&J went beyond expectations by getting a painter in to make the area right by the backsplash look really nice. They also completed the project in a timely manner.

My roof is pretty bad, so I had to replace the whole roof. I did not used them because I he did not talk to me at all on what he's going to do or anything like that and if I talk to someone I'm not comfortable with, I'm not going to hire them. His bid was actually lower than the company I went with. He just looked at my roof and tell me the numbers. He responded quickly but didn't talk to me on what they're going to do. He showed up. I don't like their approach and I was not impressed with them.

We did not go past the estimate. However, there was never a followup call to even see if I wanted to further.

The job was completed with no problems. Jeff knows what he is doing and it shows in his work.

Jason was our general contractor for a major re-modelling at our house. He is professional, punctual and very personable. He matched our price for most of the quotes that we got, but he did a very high-quality job. Do not go to him if you are looking for the cheapest cost, but I would definitely recommend him for his quality. All his sub-contractors are just as good. J&J completely transformed our house with floor-to-ceiling refinements. The work was done within budget and before time. As someone who deals with suppliers for a multi-billion company, I can vouch for Jason and I know quality when I see it. One of his strengths is dealing with FHA loans which come with a lot of paperwork. Having a contractor with expertise in that is ESSENTIAL to retaining your sanity. Jason does most of the heavy lifting for those projects and we actually completed the work before time. On top of that, he responds to any request WITHIN 24 HOURS after the work has been completed, as per his guarantee of standing behind his work. I will be updating this review periodically based on his after-sales service. So far, he has been OUTSTANDING!

Excellent work. For years I have been very pleased with their quality and pricing. I highly recommend them. Their ethics, quality and pricing are outstanding.

They rarely have a change order unless it is initiated by the client. I have never known them to miss deadlines. I have seen the work on Jason's home which was on the Parade of Homes. I would have J&J work on my home and would highly recommend them to my family friends and clients.

Very professional. Everyone involved was prompt and courteous from the beginning of the project to the end. Bob did an excellent installation job. My concern that did arise during the final walk through was addressed to my satisfaction.

A piece of our trim had been blown off in the wind. The ripped off piece of aluminum trim was along the peak. We have a 1 1/2 story home. Being that high up we called a couple contractors. It was a small job by siding standards and most of them did not want to bother with the job. I made the call during the week to J&J and explained the problem and he said someone would drive by, take a look and get back to me. The same week he called to give me a price, and told me he would have to order the coil since he did not have my green in stock. I asked if I could keep the coil in case this happens somewhere else and he agreed. 2 men came out on a Saturday morning and got right to work. Replacing the ripped off trim did not take but 30 minutes. They bent the trim to match the peak and all went well. There really wasn't anything to clean up but they were courteous and professional. I would not hesitate to call and use them on a larger job.

J&J contractors put a new roof and gutters on my home. I am very pleased with the work performed and will continue to use them.

J & J Contractors are excellent. They are very customer friendly and their prices are great.

They were listed on Angie's List and there were some reports written on them. They did a good job. They did it all in one day which was good. Apparently, they have their resources. I called other people and a lot of them that were on Angie's List and some said that it would take 2 days, 3 days, or maybe even 5 days. I was impressed with that about J & J Contractor. They said they would do it in good weather, but it was overcast that day. It didn't end up raining. It sprinkled a little bit. I hoped that they might have held off, but they said that they worked the year around. If the weather gets too bad, then they cover it up and wait for better weather. The forecast was calling for a chance of rain. They just took the chance and went ahead. They took the risk and as it turned out everything worked out okay. I was a little nervous at 3 or 4 in the afternoon when it did start to sprinkle. It sprinkled a little bit and held off and they were able to finish. They finished at 6.30 or 7 at night. The after clean-up was very good. They gave me one of the better prices I received. They weren't the lowest, but I was a little hesitant to go with the lowest price. They gave me a good price. The quality was also good. I would use them again in the future. They did a good job but not a great job. I was expecting a great job after talking to the owner personally. There was a little bit of lack of information between me and the owner. He came out personally and booked the job. The lack of information is the only thing holding me back from giving them all A's. I didn't get back to posting any information on them just for the fact that I wanted to see how the roof held up for some time. It was done in April and it's rained on it. I wanted to see how it went through the winter now. I live in Cudahy Wisconsin which is in Milwaukee area. We get our share of snow and when the snow comes at times we get ice damming where the water works its way up under the shingles. I wanted to see how that went this winter.

The service was fast. Everything was completed in one day.
