Prior to obtaining repair part the repair person indicted he might not be able to get part as not many are available. A replacement movement was located but found that shaft was too long for the clock. A wood trim piece was also replaced. I have used this person for clock repair in the past and have found him to be reliable and reasonably priced. This is an interesting side note. After picking up the clock and letting it chime on full chime setting for about a week. I advanced it for daylight saving time. a week later I switch the chimes to night off. The clock has been working for 2 weeks just fine. The only thing different is the batteries were exchanged with the Duracell brand that had been used previously and recommend by the repair person.

Prompt, clear diagnosis of the problem and provided recommendations. Mark is an excellent 2nd generation horologist and has carried the knowledge forward. If you have any problems with timepieces, give them a call.

Excellent, he was there on time and helped me write instructions on how to unpack the clock once I got it to its new destination. We had used them the last time we moved this clock, so I was more than happy that they were still around to help with this move.

Mark tuned up our grandfather clock in just about an hour. He educated me on the clock and is helping me out on an old clock from my father-in-law... Great service and he works after 5:00 pm which is really nice.

Very professional and informative. Mark did a great job and is very knowledgeable. He was also very patient with my children who can be a bit challenging at times, but Mark was very kind and interacted with them often. Mark also provided very interesting background and history about the type of clock I have which is an heirloom in our family. He gave me very good advice about how often to service it and was very honest about the condition of the clock (excellent). Mark also showed me how parts of the clock worked and what the different chimes were and how they worked. It is pretty obvious that Mark is an expert in this area and he takes his work seriously, but is also people-oriented and easy to get along with. The whole service took about 1 1/2 hours to complete and was well worth it! Great work, very punctual and I highly recommend Accurate Clock Repair.

My clock was running fast and she told me how to fix it over the phone. She was very professional. After I adjusted the pendulum, the clock worked great.

Mark explained my options in detail and did a great job of listening to what I wanted from the repair. I couldn't be more pleased with the outcome. He replaced the old works with a new electric quartz movement and replaced the worn and broken electrical cord with a new one that closely resembles the cloth-wrapped cords of the period -- I hadn't even known you could get this kind of cord until he suggested it. The hands and face of the clock are exactly the same as original, though I understand he had to modify the center holes of the hands somehow to fit the new movement -- I absolutely cannot see the difference: the modification is completely invisible to me, but I appreciate that he explained what was needed to accommodate the new movement. He is a real professional. He did a really a nice job of preserving what was important to me about the clock. He got the job done when he said it would be done, and he kept the price within the estimate. I would recommend Accurate Clock Repair with confidence. In fact, I've brought him another 1940s electric clock to repair this month (9/2010). This time, I've asked him to convert it to battery/quartz movement.

Don't expect fast work from the sole proprietor, Mark Robinson. But then, good things take time. The average repair job takes 5-8 weeks, but the work is excellent.

Mark Robinson was on time, explained the work that needed to be done to get the grandfather clock running again, and showed and explained all the components to me. He was very polite and professional. I would definitely call him again if needed.
