The King of Armor Construction LLC

Absolutely terrible. He rarely stuck to a schedule and took over three months to complete projects that the contractor admitted could have been done on our house in a week. He talked down to me and got defensive because I wanted to make sure someone was home when he and his workers were working inside my house. He said never in all his years of doing business did someone constantly need to be home when they were working inside. This was very concerning to me, because a contractor's work isn't hindered by me being home, so why get so defensive if your customer wants to be there. This was a huge red flag. When we signed our contract, Doug Allen stated 50% payment would be due before the project was started and the remaining 50% would be due after the project was completed and we had time to look over everything. However, when it actually came time to collect payment Doug Allen asked for well over 50% up front and then pushed for payment immediately after completion. He also threatened me with his lawyer because I mailed him a payment a week and a half after I got the invoice. This is by all means a timely payment in the State of Wisconsin and Doug Allen had no right to threaten me with his lawyer and harass me. In addition, after paying what I was told was my final bill, Doug Allen sent me another final bill. When I emailed him back and asked him questions about this unexpected bill, he accused me of being difficult and once again threatened me with his lawyer. I attempted to call Doug Allen to dicuss the bill and get some clarity. He sent the call straight to voicemail and never called me back, even though I left him a voicemail mesage. King of Armor Construction LLC provided extremely poor customer service and was very much non-responsive. Doug Allen/King of Armor Construction LLC sold me products with warranties and now refuses to send me the warranty documentation. He has been paid in full for over two months now. I have been following up regularly for the past two months, with little to no response from Doug Allen, and I still do not have any warranty paperwork, even though I have documentation from him stating that once the final invoice was paid he would send warranty paperwork. In addition, while he was doing the work on our house he reassured me that if something wasn't done properly or to my liking, I could just let him know and it would be fixed. However, when I followed his directions and asked that something be fixed, he told me he would charge me a service fee to fix it. Doug Allen will tell you a lot of things, but when it comes time to follow through on them, he changes his story. I have experienced several instances of this with this contractor and I would not recommend him to anyone I know or anyone I don't know, for that matter. We made a huge mistake allowing King of Armor Construction LLC to do work on our home and I hope others don't make the same mistake we did.
