+ 2 moreI thought I needed foundation work after I had a company install two new sump pumps as a precautionary measure, during an extremely wet time in Green Bay. The guy installed them improperly and I had water seeping in the bottom of my foundation that same night (btw it took him over five hours to install causing me great concern). He said it was a foundation issue although I’ve always had a dry basement. After tearing out wet carpeting and the walls (I’m 67)... Basten came out. In literally five minutes, Matt said the sumps were installed too high and flooded the drain tiles. In minutes he had his crew here and they installed the correct size sumps!!! No extra charge for an emergency, nor did they try to up-sale me, which as an older, single woman, easily could have happened!!! What honesty and professionalism!!!! Only took Noah and Hayden 45 minutes to install and not a drop of water since. Thank you!! Highly recommend!!!!

+ -1 moreQuality of the work was good. Had to remind them to clean up the jobsite after they said they were done. Subs they used made bad solder joint and one drilled a hole through my pool filter. No one actually answers the phone at Basten's office. It's been a month since I sent my bills to them for the repairs/replacement of damaged equipment. We paid our down-payment and final bill immediately. Wish I was getting the same courtesy.

+ 4 moreWe have been using Gary Basten Construction for a number of years now for projects around the house and at church. They are my “go-to” contractors for any project, large or small. In fact, I don’t even bother getting other bids as I know that theirs will be fair and honest. Matt always comes out to discuss the project, offering ideas to either enhance the project, or ways of saving money…and estimates are always free. Their crews have been extremely professional, and my wife loves the fact that they clean up after themselves! I have gone with “discount” contractors in the past…you know…the ones who do contract work on the side…and have been disappointed with the quality. With Gary Basten Construction, I never have to worry about whether the job will get done right or on time…and best of all…they stand behind their work!
Description of Work: Dig sump pump pit and install sump pump, dig smaller pump pit, install basement windows, replace garage roof, custom door installation at church, plow snow at church.

+ -1 moreI was very happy with the work. I so appreciated them taking the time to understand our problem and then taking the time and arranging the extra work to get done.
Description of Work: I strongly recommend Basten Construction. We had a drain in our driveway that had sunk in such a manner that water (and thus ice) was pooling around it. We also had a leak in our basement. I was impressed with Matt when he came to do the estimate, because he seemed to know exactly how to fix the problems. He raised concerns about "matching" the driveway. He wanted to be sure I would be happy with how it would look. Rainy weather delayed the project, but they kept me informed. When they came to do the project, it became apparent that they would not need to tear out as much concrete as Matt had originally predicted. They could have done the project as bid and made more money. Instead we saved a lot of money and the driveway looks great and works great. The basement leak proved to have more rot then anticipated, costing a bit more to repair the damage, but no delays in fixing it. It too looks great and works great. One more item that really impressed me. It became apparent that there was another issue with the drain. Once again, Matt could have just done the proposal as bid, but he wanted to solve our problems with the drain. He took the time to find the problem, found competent people to fix it and without any delay. The workmen were not only friendly, but also and, more importantly, knowledgeable, experienced and thinking people. They were solving problems not just doing a job. I could not be happier about the whole experience.
