The landlord is horrible - he doesn't respond to anything. When things are broken they stay broken. The building has a lot of drugs going on - you can smell marijuana at least two times a day through the heating vents and in the hallways. The apartments are disgustingly dirty, and you are not allowed to report anything being dirty on your move in sheet (so then he will charge you for all the dirt when you leave) - for example, the water has so much iron that it turns the bathtub red (it looks like somebody was murdered in it) - when we moved out I scrubbed it with bleach and it looked ten times better than when we moved in, but he is charging us for it because it's not cleaned well enough! (The stain has probably been there for 20 years - it's not coming out all the way!) Also, the laundry room smells like mold, and so will your clothes after washing them in there - and due to the iron in the water, your clothes will also be discolored after washing them in there. We also had the door next to us busted down by the police about two months after moving in. The landlord is crooked and does not keep promises. He is not punctual. Both my roommate and I had been living elsewhere the last three months of our rent, and the landlord called us and gave us 4 days notice that if we moved everything out and had it cleaned we wouldn't have to pay our last month's rent (even though the month didn't end until 8 days from when he called). We finished everything but the carpet cleaning which could not be scheduled that quickly and handed in our keys 4 days early from the end of the month. The landlord was supposed to show up to let in the carpet cleaning service and myself on the last day of the month but didn't show up to let us in. Thankfully the carpet guy sat and waited with me for 20 minutes before we could get into the apartment. I have not had a good experience and I am glad to just have it all over... I learned my lesson - an extra $50/month might be well worth it when choosing an apartment to rent!
