Description of Work: I wanted to replace a furnace which was beginning to have problems. I spoke with the Bay Area Services rep at a home show and scheduled an estimate. He came to my home and took extensive measurements because the furnace is in a somewhat confined space. He followed up with me and submitted a proposal which was priced fairly. The installation went extremely well. The advance planning and measurements were done perfectly. I am very satisfied with my overall experience with Bay Area Services. I also chose them because they are an authorized Trane dealer.

The overall experience was good except for having to wait 3 weeks for the part. This was not their fault though, it was the manufacturer who claimed they couldn't get it here any faster. I would definitely use them again if I needed work done.
Description of Work: Originally had them come to check the furnace and they found a crack in the heat exchanger. Because the furnace is an off-brand, the part had to be ordered. They came back and put in another heat exchanger about 3 weeks later. They could have easily told me I needed a whole new furnace, but they didn't. The guy who came to do the work was very nice, explained everything and showed me the actual crack which was huge.

We were looking to replace our furnace and air conditioner. They were both really old! We did not want to go through another winter with our current furnace. We got approx 6 quotes from different vendors in the area. Bay Services took the time to explain everything in detail and answered all the questions we had. They did not "push" us into anything, if we told them that we were not interested in say - the dehumidifier - he simply replied, "ok". Bay Services was the 2nd quote we received and it was hard for the others to compete. We rec'd alot of quotes that were comparable as far as price was concerned but some were minus the venting. We decided for the price, to get the "bigest bang for our buck", to stick with Bay Services. (An air purifier was added to our order, and because they were running a special, it was completly deducted from the price). So we rec'd the furnace, ait conditioner, air purifier (that is built right into the furnace) and new venting all for the price others were quoting just for a furnace and air conditioner alone. The day they installed everything, they were very professional. They cleaned up everything and explained in detail how to keep things clean and in good shape and also explained the new thermostat and how to use it. We are really pleased with everything.
Description of Work: Installed a new furnace, new air contioner, air purifier and venting.

they provide professional service and i am really satisfied with the service. they are a bit pricy. in my area , preventive maintenance is around 80 to 90 dollars, but bay area service charges $100.00 plus supplies. so i was charged around 121.00
Description of Work: Bay area services performed preventive maintenance on both my a/c as well as furnace. though a little pricy, they are really professional and did a wonderful job.

We were having major renovations to our 30YO home (a large addition involving the basement and both floors of the home). Changing over the heating and A/C was a longer term consideration, but became an immediate term need when the furnace ran into some problems (in late December in WIsconsin), Bay Area, which was doing the new duct work sent out a repairman immediately. A circuit board had fried (due to some condensation that was made worse due to the construction). The repair person gave us an esimate and also broached the topic of replacing the furnace. He was able to make a "stop gap" repair to give us some time to consider the options. We were able to make an almost immediate appointment with a sales rep from this company (Bay Area) and two other local dealers. Jerry, from Bay Area, presented us with several options, walked us through each and was able to produce a price quote on the spot (our construction dust covered dining table). Their price was competetive and the service they had already provided was exceptional. Bay Area loaned us a furnace for use throughout the construction period so that the construction conditions (dust, extra load, etc) would not impact our new furnace. When our construction was completed, the crew returned - removed the old furnace, put in new coneccting duct work, and installed the new furnace. Similarly they removed the old A/C and installed the new. They demonstrated the use of the new theomostat and reviewed owner maintenance for both units. Bay Area filed all of the paperwork necessary for a rebate from the furnace company and our public utility and provided proper documentation and a pamphlet with additional information about tax breaks for the new high-efficiency furnace. We have received both rebate checks.
