 + -1 moreIf you are looking for someone who treats your project as their own, consider giving Dowty's Home Improvements a call. We had 24+ year old single pane windows that frosted up in winter and you could feel a draft. Ron worked with us to select the windows, style, and finish. Everything went really well and we love how things came together. We still have 2 bay windows and some specialty windows to replace in the near future and we'll be contacting Ron again.

Which was fast since he did everything himself. He did not contract out. Everything was perfect. I would recommend him to anyone. Thanks Ron!

Description of Work: I asked Ron to repair a shed door. He responded quickly, even though he was on vacation with his family. He came out and looked at the job within a few days. I was certain, and I still feel most other carpenters would have said that the doors should be replaced. (New doors would be between $350-$500) These doors were over 40 years old, but Ron said he could save them. He squared the frame, cut off an inch on the bottom of the doors, and reinforced a weak point in the door. The doors swing open freely now, and everything, hasp/lock line up perfectly. Maybe its wrong of me to assume most carpenters would have said the doors should be totally replaced, but I will always remember this company as the one who REPAIRED a problem as opposed to REPLACING something. Too many REPLACE nowadays as their only option. Thanks Ron.

 + 6 moreFrom start to finish, Ron was fantastic! He worked diligently and accurately (he is a perfectionist) to keep everything in our project running as smoothly as possible. Our beautiful home was built in 7 months from groundbreaking to move in! This seemed very fast to me, and we expected it to take much longer, especially not having any experience in construction. Other members of my family have used Ron for room additions and remodels and been very pleased. Another nice thing is how clean Ron is! He cleans his are of work during and at the end of the day so you aren't left with the "contractor mess" that most leave behind. If you want precision, or perfection on your addition, room/basement addition or finishing, or any general construction work done, strongly consider Dowty's Home Improvement. You will get what you pay for!
Description of Work: Ron (the owner)helped us build our home, and acted as our designer, general contractor and rough and finish carpenter! We "self-contracted" the building of our home, but knew that this would be difficult to achieve without any experience in working with/coordinating all of the contractors.
