Pro Woodcare, and their rep/Regional Manager Chris Roller did an excellent job. We were afraid our roof was too badly damaged by moss, wind and moisture to restore, but they did a beautiful job. (While not clear in the photos, we had over 1" of moss on most of the north roof and even had large mushroom colonies!) Chris was extremely thorough and knowledgable in his assessment of the roof and what needed to be done. The office staff was courteous and did a great job of following up when needed and working with me to book the job. When Chris sent the proposal, he included a substantial list of references in our area which I really appreciated. Their bid came in several thousand dollars lower than the other firm we requested a quote from, which of course, was attractive. (However, I don't believe their bid was artificially low....I think the competitor's was inflated as I confirmed later.) I felt it was a very fair price. When the crew did the work, it looked like they had to replace more shingles on the back part of our roof than was spec'd out in the original contract; but the company didn't charge us extra for this. This was indicative of the entire approach the company took through the whole process---they clearly have high standards and want to do an excellent job; I appreciate that they didn't nickel and dime us as the job progressed. In addition, between the time we booked the contract and when the work was scheduled, we noticed some interior ceiling damage in one of our bedrooms after a major rainstorm. Chris came out to take a look to help us determine if this would be addressed through the minor shingle repair included in the restoration.....or if we had a bigger problem that would require calling in a roofer. Turns out, the damage was due to improperly installed windows in our home. This was clearly outside of the scope of the job we hired Pro Woodcare to do, but Chris drew upon his general knowledge of house contstruction and walked through the whole house with me assessing the condition of most of the windows and giving me suggestions as to what it was going to take to fix the problem. I really appreciated his time and advice, and only confirmed my already positive impression of this company and their level of commitment and customer service. Too bad we only have one roof to restore---I'd happily work with them again!

The crew worked through one off the hottest days during the spring of 2011 and I was impressed . They always do what they say they will do that is why they have maintained and preserved my deck since 2005. The staining last abuot 2 yrs .

Came when promised and did the whole job in two days

Used this service many times in the past. This time was extremely disappointing cleaned the deck and didn't move flower pots - plants damage - only comment was "cant do anything about that" damaged gazebo door trying to get a piece of furniture out (which was left in and they stained around it) - the door was fixed (glued back together and it looks like it) spilled stain on the sidewalk - left dark spot did not announce actual date of staining (only cleaning which was some time in between)came the weekend before the holiday, which meant we had to stay off the deck charged a fuel surcharge which was not indicated on the proposal. The deck staining itself was fine and looks good. Update 7/19/11. I spoke with Tom Lefebvre. I appreciated his follow up and he offered to replace the flowers. I completely disagree with the statement in the provider response that "the pots were too heavy to move" - I moved them the following day with no assistive devices to get them away from the deck. In addition, some pots were moved away from the deck by the crew after the damage was done. The 3 stains on the side walk have not yet been removed. The proposal that I have on file does not have the disclaimer regarding the fuel surcharge. I was not charged for that fee.

The workmen were efficient and worked very hard, They were careful to wash off the coating spray as it came off the roof onto the driveway or plants. They protected the windows. They cleaned up very well. They did a great job.

They are very good. We had some problems with one spot and they came to fix it. They are very prompt and have great customer service.

I've had better service in the past. I have a bench on the deck and stones surrounding the deck to keep the dog from going underneath the deck. In prior years, when the stones were moved, someone came back a day or so later to put them and the bench back. Not a big deal, but different from what happened in the past.

Everything went very well. They were prompt and you could trust them. I felt very comfortable with them.

I have used this company before in my previous house and they do a very good job. This time I didn't go with them since I found someone else who did for signficantly less cost.

Their price was very competitive and they did a very good job. I recommended them to several people and they've been very happy with the results.

They do a phenomenal job. They are also very reasonably priced and timely.

I haven't used them for a couple of years now. They cleaned and resealed the deck and the pergola. They also cleaned and resealed some teak wood furniture. They were very professional, came on time and worked very well. I am not letting them down but the only concern with them was I was getting furniture and other things for two years from them but they were behind the standards. I don't have any bad things to tell about them. It lasted longer and they did a good job. I tried another company and that was of the same standard too.

First we called multiple times to have the step replaced. We had retaining wall work done and needed this step to get onto the deck. They were very slow to respond to our requests to build the step. We asked them to perform this service since they had the correct stain and had been staining this deck since 2002. That was only the start of our problems. When the finally replaced the step we asked them to perform the required staining of the deck. Unfortunately they let stain drip on our new stone patio below and did not use a drop cloth. The solvent they used to clean the deck also stained our stone patio, which the owner denied having responsibility for. They also dropped stain on our retaining walls and our house. I had the owner of the company come out to look at his work and he refused to pay for the damages. We needed to hire a lawyer to get any money out of him. He refused to settle in a cordial way or take any responsibilty for his actions. We had to have the lawyer force him to contact his insurance company since he stated "I have never needed to use my insurance and I will not contact them". We eventually did not recoup the cost of the damages due to the owner and the company's insurance company not taking responsibility for the damages. We finally just accepted whatever the offer was from the insurance company gave us due to mounting lawyer costs and just wanting the whole thing over with. To add insult to injury the insurance company, as part of the settlement, gave us money to pay Pro Wood care for the shoddy work. We will probably have to pay about 5000$ out of pocket to clean our house, replace the damaged stone, replace the paint stained stones under the porch (of note the owner stated when we pointed out the stained stones (just turn them over and you will not see the stains"), and replace the stained caps on the retaining walls.

Pro WoodCare repaired and restored the exterior of our log home. Tim Cross and Nate, a carpenter, came to our home and inspected the exterior in order to give us a quote. They sent us a quote/contract which was time-and-materials for the repairs and the caulking and lump-sum for the restoration. We requested a few additions to the contract language which they accommodated. Later, we agreed on the contract and made a 10% payment. When winter was over, carpenters replaced some decayed logs in the walls of the home and under the porches. In preparation for the pressure washing of the logs, my husband moved our furniture away from the walls so that a couple of the contractors could watch for leaks inside the house, wrap a couple items in plastic to protect them, wipe up any water with towels, etc. They buffed the logs, caulked all joints, and applied preservative/stain after covering all windows, exterior light fixtures, etc. (even doorbell buttons). Before leaving, they touched up every detail. Throughout the project, crew members responded quickly and politely to all requests, and they always seemed anxious to be sure that we were pleased. The final bill was easy to understand, complete, and corresponded with our estimates of time spent and materials used for repairs and caulking. Pro WoodCare lived up to its name in every respect.

Company gave us an estimate and scheduled the work immediatly after we gave them a small deposit. Rain delayed our project but as soon as the weather cleared, they did their work. One spot was missed with stain so I called them and they sent a tech out the next day to finish it. Overall, a very nice job.

This is the 4th time we have used this contractor. Every time except the third was great. The third time(several years ago)the crew came as the last job on a Saturday afternoon. They were in a hurry and the quality of the work showed it.

The company worked with my tight time crunch to have the roof cleaned before the house was being painted. The work was done over a couple days.

My first call was to Pro WoodCare, since we had them out just last fall to clean and treat our roof. Replacement of this cap is probably not something they would normally do, but their estimator (Andy) came out shortly after I called and said that they would install the vent cap for no charge. I had called them in late winter and Andy said that they would be able to do this early in the spring when their crew was in the area. Several weeks later, after the snow had melted off the roof, I followed up with a phone call. They didn't have a crew scheduled to be in the area for another couple of weeks, but since I called, Andy said he would come out and take care of the work himself. And he did. The vent cap was installed in short order. Andy even inspected the roof for wind damage (given recent high winds). Excellent service.

Excellent! The company was flexible in how they worked with us, giving us the option to purchase supplies and do the work ourselves, or have them do it. They did the job within 2 weeks. There were a few small stains on the siding which they promptly cleaned up. They added on a fuel surcharge to the bill, which was a surprise. There is mention of it in the fine print, but I felt that it should have been stated up front in the estimate. They removed it from the bill.

On site quote given when I was not present. Decided not to use them as too expensive. I will do the work myself later this summer.

Communication could have been better about when work was to be performed, but once it was done the deck looked great. The crew forgot about one element of the job, so Tom attended to it himself that week. Be sure to plan ahead for your work- I had to wait 2 months from when I called.

Tom was prompt & very polite. His recommendations were very clear & will be easy to follow if needed. We will absolutely continue to have them do our deck maintenance in the years to come.

I'm pretty happy that all of this work was completed in April! I had very little personal interaction once the contract was signed. My only disappointment is that they indicated they would be here on a Wednesday and didn't show up until the following Monday at 6:30 PM with no notice. I did not follow up as I was out of town and another member of the family took the phone call. Overall, it wasn't a big deal.

They arrived on schedule, setting up their equipment, clearing the deck furniture and power cleaning the deck on the first day. Letting it dry for several days, they returned and applied the water proofing. This gave it a like new color and with the water now beading instead of soaking into the wood, I'm sure it is doing the job.
